Just did overnight at Aztec Peak in Sierra Ancho Wilderness.. Take 288 North of E side Roosevelt Lake, then Right on FR 487 up to top at 7500'.. Nice tree covered Alpine meadow on right for camping about one mile below the top. Cheers!
A small tent is nice if it isn't going to rain. Rainy evenings and nights beg for much bigger tents.
LOL - I was watching your video and yelling at the screen - "grab that spot". Nice!
Ahh, Arizona dirt roads... I used to take my 1978 CX500 on them back in the early 90s. Lower the tire pressure and go! Probably shouldn't have taken my street bike out on those "roads" but I did! Super fun! o7
Sounds awesome!
New editing is good, music good, riding and camping great!
Much appreciated!
I live for that moment when I finally break free of the traffic and the road and scenery upen up in front of me and I can be fully present in the moment taking it all in. I know "freedom" gets a bit overused to market motorcycles, but there's really something to it.
I agree completely!
Thanks for bringing us along. Looking forward to some similar trips as the season is just about to start here in Northern Europe.
Thanks Tim, looking forward to that ride. Seemed like a nice spot other than that Flash Flood warning as soon as you were entering!
Yes it was!
next time check out Rose Creek campground up in the Sierra Ancha Wilderness north of Roosevelt. one of my favorite campgrounds. you can also ride the road to the top of Aztec peak, definitely worth doing.
Thanks for the tip!
Tim good to see you camping again. Been down 60 many times the past years!
Nice! I grew up in Superior and love that area of the state. I agree with your recommendation to ride US60 between Superior and Miami. Nice road and great scenery. That looks like a great spot to moto camp (I've ridden past it many times and never gave it another thought). Kudos for mustering up to solo camp. I haven't gotten to that point yet. 😅
Good tips Tim. I personally like places that serve breakfast or that are next to a good cheap resto that serves breakfast.
Then you can do your thing, pack up and hit the road.
Maybe a cliff bar and fruits (from the breakfast) for lunch, then a nice dinner.
Cheers and happy holidays from downtown Canada
That’s a great point! Thanks, happy holidays to you too!
Great camping video, Tim! Ride safe,🏍️👍🇿🇦
It’s good to see you out ride. I look forward to the next video. Ride safe and have fun. 🇺🇸
Thanks 👍
Let me know if you would like to get out riding and camping in this area again! I may just have to blow the dust off my r1200 to join ya!! We happen to live in the east valley and do a fair amount of camping / climbing in superior az area! We also get down to Tucson or up to Northen AZ from time to time if you want a riding buddy!
Great to see you back in the saddle and thanks for bringing us along for inspiration!
My pleasure!
Those wasscawwy wabbits! 🐰
Great music selection Tim. Went well with the ride scenery.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks!
long time follower, great to see you back out there, looking forward to the next one
Thank you!
Stoked to see your videos Tim!
Good to see you in my comments
Enjoying the channel dude
Glad to hear it
I’m 67 and I’m wrestling with how to camp out , I’ve got a Honda forza 300 , I KNOW I CANT AFOORD MOTELS ALL THE TIME
You are doing a great job, your videos are very interesting. Thanks 🔥❤️🔥👌😎
Glad you like them!
Awesome mountain scenery, and how nice to have such a beautiful campground all to yourself! BTW, I enjoyed the background music! Safe travels, Tim, and thanks for sharing this with us.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for sharing the adventure brother. Makes me want to head out West.
You should!
Superior Globe and the copper Mines.
Very inspiring, Tim. You have the setup down to a science.
Hi Tim, nice to see you back on the bike! Greetings from Germany from Michael!
Hey, thanks!
Nice video; good to see you back you there!
Thank you!
Nice spot - I’ve come through the opposite way on 60, which connects to 25 just a little south of Albuquerque - it’s quite a beautiful ride through Show Low down into Globe. Next time I’ll stop for the night!
That is a great ride!
@@FTAAdventures Right?!? I’d come down from Denver to Albuquerque in Day 1 and day 2 was Albuquerque to Tucson (I have a son in college there, so I ride there often and work remotely while visiting him). I’m hoping my third kid picks somewhere cool for college so I can use that as a new base of operations and trips.
Good to see ya riding/camping again. Looking forward to updates on how the new Tiger 850 works out traveling. Music not so enjoyable, much prefer scenery, the purr of MC and your narration. Thanks...
Thanks Larry, it's good to be camping and riding again. Sorry you weren't happy with the music on this one.
I have to keep reminding myself that you're not on the GS anymore. 😁
Zona! What a place man great vid
Thanks 👍
⭕️glad to see you're doing better brother
Thank you!
Hey Tim, really enjoyed this video, nice scenery and a cool campsite. Thank you for sharing! Ride safe, looking forward to your next adventure 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi Tim, nice campground indeed. Perfect weather, nobody else around, what more do you need! Great video Tim! Looking forward to next week's video! Ride Safe!
Thanks Rick! It was a great trip
Great video! Awesome to see you back out there. Stay safe and looking forward to your next video.
Thanks! You too!
Nice to see you out moto camping. That was a great first night spot, just off the road, but nicely treed. Great way to recharge the mind and soul. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the trip. Cheers!
Yes it was! Thanks
Great to get back on the road with you. I've done a three day camping trip so far this year and will be setting off again soon, so it's going to be great to come with you on your trip too.
Glad to hear it! Ride safe
Thanks!
You bet! Thank you too!
It’s awesome to see you out riding and camping again. Like the music too. Ride safe Tim
Glad you enjoyed it
@@FTAAdventures and way to sport the gas can hoodie. Love my hoodie
Liked the video, good editing and thanks for taking us along with you on your ride...
Glad you enjoyed it
I was at this same campground not even a week ago. It was pretty hot for myself while I was there, but I'm also not used to the desert temps as much. Glad to see you have a good ride.
That’s awesome! Yeah I’m used to triple digits in Phoenix
awesome scenery; ty.
Nice camp spot ; I definitely want to check out that road, it seemed like a pretty cool ride…
You should!
Great motorcycle camping trip. I will put route 60 on my list of roads to explore. Thanks for sharing
You should!
Tim, Great spot to camp, wake up to a shaded area! Nice to see you out on the bike
Thank you!
Loved the scenery in this video. Hoping to see some cooking in your next video perhaps? Great to see another one of your videos Tim!
Thank you! I’ll be sure to include some cooking in my next videos but the next one is already filmed
I went to Big Bend last weekend on the T7.
Let’s just say it was warm!!! Ride safe my friend.
Hope you had a good trip!
We getting into triple digest here in central Texas, and almost too hot to tent camping. Good to enjoy another of your videos.
It’s getting pretty hot in the Phoenix valley too. Good time for me to head north.
@FTAAventures I just finished an eight day 3K+ trip to South Dakota from Texas to visit Mt Rushmore, the Bad Lands, Devils Tower, Deadwood & Sturgis, Wyoming and more. We rode in seven or eight states
Love the footage; makes me miss AZ.
Ok 👍👌
That's a cool little spot right off the road. I still haven't been moto-camping this year, thinking I should fix that tonight. Thanks for sharing, Tim! :)
You should!
Great video man! I have the same tiger and almost the same set up but with the hard cans. Its cool how you use a lot of the same gear that I and a couple of buddies do. We just got back from a camping/fishing trip over by Willow Springs lake. A little bit of a ride for ya but definitely worth checking out even if you just are camping. Look forward to the next one! 👍
Thanks Cris, I will check that out at some point. Ride safe
Been there done that many times but it's been nearly 20yrs. 191 was my fav from Clifton to Alpine. Hope to get back to AZ/NM/UT in near future....looking forward to seeing the rest of your trip:)
That’s awesome and thank you
I was up in Globe over a week ago on my new Street Triple RS Moto2. Then down 77 back to Saddlebrooke. The weather has been great. I gotta get the Tiger Explorer out. I envy you camping.
Great to see you TIM, might be time to head up my way .. (NOR CAL between Tahoe and Yosemite...let's ride some cool places in the Sierra nevadas... much love..so glad to see you on videos again
That would be cool! And thank you!
Check your IG DM
Love it brother, I live in the W Valley area & just did a camping trip (not my first time) to San Rafael Valley, beautiful area & riding! Thanks for sharing this experience with us, i haven't ridden out to the E Valley much but this gives me a better reason to. Would be cool to link up with you sometime & do a ride. Cheers and stay cool, its heating up 😆
Nice to see that there is close by camping available for you and that it worked out well for you.
Is there a longer term Tiger 850 update on your schedule? I suspect by now you must be in the 8-10k miles on it.
Be safe, ride on.
Thanks! Yes I’m sure I’ll be doing that video soon, I’m at about 5k so far, and I’m loving it
I used to visit this part of AZ once a year for work - loved it. Much noise in there from the nearby highway? Rabbits are fine - it’s the rattlesnakes and tarantulas that worry me!
It wasn’t too noisy there, definitely recommend
Looked like some rush hour traffic, then clear roads and mountains! Woooo! Glad to see you getting out there. Just used my BA Copper Spur UL2 for the first time for two nights and really like it. How is the kitty treating you? -Rob
Thanks! Loving the bike 😊
@MotoPumps Love'n your Garmin Zumo xt locking mount so far. (2000 miles including moderate off pavement, good to go)👍
@@pacopetepnw3434 Thanks! that was unexpected. I appreciate the kind words. 🤗
Great vid, alot of fun to watch. Thanx. Oh btw was that place free? I forgot to say the music was great too.
Yes it was!
Hey buddy, I'm in the east valley. Have you camped at Apache Lake? Off the 188 across from Roosevelt lake. I moto-camped out there a month ago and it was super nice, I definitely recommend it. The few miles of dirt on the apace trail were a lot of fun, too.
I’ll have to check that out, thanks for the tip!
What are the panniers like for filtering? Worried about hitting cars? Love your content. Good to see you out and about.
It can be a little tricky, you really have to watch out for side view mirrors.
Great video!! Tim are you sporting some new ink????
No but maybe it just shows more in this video
Love the 60! Look forward to riding up that way. Do you always cover your bike at night?
Me too! Yes I always cover it.
Great video! Question about desert camping--do you do anything to avoid sleeping with snakes? When I was stationed in the Mojave, we slept on cots due to rattlesnakes. I wonder if using a Helinox cot or similar would be worth it
I’ve never had an issue with that but it makes sense. I have a friend that used the marchway cot and he swears by it.
Nicely done. Is there a specific reason why you parked your bike a little further away from the tent? Thanks
Food smells, there are bear in that area and I didn’t hang a bear bag, just put my food in the top case.
@@FTAAdventures Oh I see, appreciate it! Ride safe
It's great to hear and see you again, Tim. You look good!! Happy camping!! Thanks!!
Thanks so much
I see you made bail ha ha greaat video glad your back
Thank you!
Did you notice highway noise there.
Are you sure they weren't Jackalopes?
Didn’t notice too much noise here. Yeah might have been a jackelope didn’t get a good look at it 😉
Nice video! How do you like the 850?
Never mind. I just found your vid on it.
I love it
Nice video. The music is distracting. I would rather hear the motor, the wind or even the gravel over it.
Noted!
Superb video, the music not so much.
Really? Globe? lol Go further north bro! I live in Florence BTW
What tent is that you r using?
Big Agnes copper spur 2 person
I really enjoyed this one Tim
Glad you enjoyed it
Good to see you on the bike.
Thanks, it’s good to be on the bike!
How is a spot that nice free?
It is pretty awesome
Nice Tim. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
👍😎👍
Hope all is well my friend!
@@FTAAdventures We're good, or, at least no worse than anyone else, lol. Wishing that life treats you with kindness and generosity daily, my friend!
Escape the heat this summer. The PNW is calling....
PNW is awesome, I love it up there.
Good video Tim. Nice bike!
Thanks!
Nice to see you again!
You too!
Does not going moto camping lately mean you took a regular job for a minute
Been working on a project, an online course
Good to see U back on the road again... Thanks Tim
Good to be seen! Thanks for the comment Bruce
Woth every video i watch, i keep notes for future trips. Thats a pretty sweet spot!
Right on!
I like how the wind screen is no higher than the road. Perfect!
I think I enjoyed this more than most will because I used to live off Higley/Guadalupe and spent tons of time in that area. (Now live in PA) Even miss getting some good Mexican food in Globe at El Rey! Safe travels!
Glad to hear it! Thanks you too!
Did that ride a few weeks ago then went north to Young to Haigler Creek, another nice place to check out
Sweet I’ll check that out next time
I see your still rocking the Big Agnes tent. You reviewed the Lone Rider Adventure tent previously and wondered how they compared. Nice ride with the scenery and camping close to a bathroom is always a bonus! lol
Hey Brian, thanks for the comment! I still really love both tents for different reasons and uses. The Big Agnes just packs so small so I usually tend to go with that one. But I love how dark the Lone Rider is or sleeping in in the morning.
@FTAAdventures Thanks for the reply. I been looking at both of these. Stay safe
It was nice to see a motocamp video.been way to long.cheers.
Glad you enjoyed it more to come
Man, you are making me miss Arizona! 😃
I would have camped at that spot too!
Would like to move out there one day... soon....
