- Friends today we have filmed at the beautiful LeMeilleur house in Ste. Genevieve Missouri! Now let's walk (literally) across the street to QRST, our favorite tea shop!! Today we're having tea cakes from 1796 with our friend Brad aka Mr. Tea as we taste test 4 of his hottest summer flavors!
Note: I (Ron) put the GoPro in front of the AC vent and only after returning home did I realize that it caused some noise distortion in the video. I apologize.

I apologize in advance for the poor sound quality, I set the camera up near a AC vent and it was blowing on the camera (in person it was quiet)
There's no need to apologize, Ron! I'm sure it'll sound just fine! 🙂
I'm sure it won't be as bad as the constant "buzz, click" from my little camcorder trying to auto focus. I didn't notice it until I tried recording the new kittens while I was sleeping. They are quite acrobatic!
Awwww no worries 😊❤ blessed be to Our Father for everyone in the community 😊
No worries. Great show as always.
No worries, I didn't even notice it !
I like Brad's opinion. You wouldn't want it to overpower.
I made a pitcher of raspberry rose hibiscus iced tea last night for the hot and humid week ahead, and I can't wait to have some during the premiere in a few hours! 😃 I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying what's left of the weekend! ✨
Well that just sounds AMAZING geez !
@@EarlyAmerican Haha it comes from a tea company called The Republic of Tea! They have a lot of amazing teas and I very strongly recommend checking them out! ☺️
@@AllenMZim I will thank you!
@@EarlyAmerican Of course, Justine! 👍
How fun!
I had a wonderful tea time with you at this shoppe back in November! It was very special visit. Ste Genevieve is so fabulous!🎉
Wow! I love that paint color on the wall. What a nice place! So thankful for small business owners that share their passion and knowledge. Can’t wait to order!
Such a sweet little tea party. I loved all of it. I need to visit and sample for myself. Have a great week everyone!
The tea looks delicious and the tea cakes too.
Ever since I went to Fredericksburg, VA., and Jamestown, I have been hooked on rediscovering our past. I have been on several architectural digs and really enjoy the discovery. Thanks for showing us a more real face to living back in the day!
I know I would love this place. I love a tea party.
Vanilla beans are still today considered an expensive spice.
This place looks so beautiful
That’s the cookbook I brought to you in 2022! I had to leave it with the pewter couple because you were visiting future in-laws.❤️ I make several of your recipes often and my husband and my mom love them!
Danvers was formally called Salem Village; present day Salem was Salem Town. They changed the name to Danvers about 1750. Witch Trials had most of the victims come from Salem Village, and one murdered woman, Rebecca Nurse, has her house still standing in Danvers, and can be toured.
Here's what the book, "Carrots Love Tomatoes" has to say about valerian: Valerian is good in the garden, giving vegetables added vigor. It's rich in phosphorus and stimulates phosphorus activity where grown. It attracts earthworms so is useful in the compost pile. Cats react to valerian like they do catnip, and rats like it as well. So if you have a rat problem, plant valerian and cats will take care of the rat problem. In Colonial days it was used as a drug plant, the strangely-scented root was brewed into tea. The tea has an effect on the central nervous system, so it shouldn't be drunk too often. Cold tea is made by soaking one level teaspoon valerian in one cup of cold water, put it in a cold place for 12 to 24 hours. Strain and drink one hour before retiring.
Good vanilla is becoming unaffordable again to the middle class. My favorite vanilla went from $15.00 a bottle to $39.00!
Oh wow!
we are headed to our state fair today for a christian concert!😊 have to watch replay later Looks so scrumptious and fun setting!
That sounds fun!!! Stay safe and cool. God Bless.
This was a good one as many. You look so small in-between the guys. Lol
Had a dream that a baby is on the way for you two!
I’m a tea 🫖 nerd. Love this episode and learning about various teas.
The sound is fine. Beautiful places and I’m wishing I could come visit!
I can’t wait to visit St. Genevieve & go to all these fabulous places you feature!!!
Ron and Justine you guys need to make a Ste Gen visitors brochure!
Never thought I would ever go to a tea party but that mad hatter event sounds like a must have experiance.
Thanks for the field trip, tea talk and weird history. I'm never disappointed in a Chew & Chat. Be blessed and I'll see you next week, Lord willing! xoxo
Oh that is right up my alley! I would get in big trouble financially if I lived anywhere near that store lol. Absolutely lovely!
Hello Ron and Justine! I love your channel, keep up the good work 😊
hehe love it we call them dunkers (English Tea Party) when you dip your biscuits in tea. love it , (not very etiquette) but love it anyway lol. great job
I just ordered 3 teas from them, I am a prolific tea drinker myself. I prefer tea to coffee and I can not wait to try these flavors!
That's right fools! It's TEA TIME!
😂😂😂😂
Vanilla extract is expensive now! 💰
Maybe make your own. A couple bean pods and cheap vodka
If I can ever talk my husband into going back to visit Missouri I am totally going to visit Saint Genevieve and have tea there! It looks so lovely! ❤
I love your straw brimmed bonnet Justine, it is very pretty!
I would love to have a few pears from that tree and make preserves. Id love to visit the tea shop.
Enjoyed this one, even though I didn't get to taste your teas. Lovely room, lovely table cloth, the colonial blue on the wall,so nice!!!Have a great week.
Everything looked delicious. Especially the hibiscus tea the color is beautiful.
Hi Mish Mish!!!🐈⬛
Love tea. I drink it without sugar. The tea cakes looks great. I would love to try the chocolate mint tea.
Hi Justine,hi Ron!! When mike and I came to visit you guys during pioneer days,we went to the tea house and I loved it soooo much there! Absolutely precious ❤ I also bought dehydrated fairy marshmallows ❤
Justine looks so tiny between those two big men! I love the tea party!
Cannot wait for the next episode! This will be interesting to hear about the peir tree David and Rebecca Back.
I would love to order this tea
I really would love to go there.❤
I didnt watch the news today. Watched you! Happy way to start the day! Thank you for what you do. Love you both! ☕
Really enjoyed the change up ! Just simple tea cakes instead of a " heavy" meal . Plus Justine didn't have to work in a hit kitchen , plus no dishes !
i love tea nice tea i get it froom the english tea company i love the tea caddy he has the tea in xx
The two oldest fruit trees in the United States are native and one is the pawpaw and the other is the American Persimmon. Valerian Root is where they got the sedative Valium.
That seems like a really nice place to visit and try the teas. Interesting video. I like the music too. 🥐☕
Have you ever watched Over the Garden Wall? There is a character called Quincey Endicott he was a tea Barron. I just thought that was funny.
My Bose’s grandparents were from Danvers .
The lemongrass/ peel tea would soothe this cough I unfortunately have. 😊
A weak horehound tea is also very good for chest congestion and a cough. I have a pot of horehound growing in my herb garden. I like a squeeze of lemon or lemon peel to lighten the flavor.
Such a sweet and peaceful experience.
I love this episode!
Are you going to talk about the Endicott Pear Tree?!! Something to see when you come to the Salem area!
I drink English breakfast tea every day, with honey from Germany. It is so good.
the pillow talk tea sounds divine 😋☁️
I noticed the chairs in this video. I have the exact same ones! They were my grandmothers! I wish I could send you a picture. ❤
I would love to visit St. Genevieve and have tea.
Hi, original sweet song perfect for the tea. ❤ Namaste 🙏💐💖
Oh I love that crochet table cloth
Goodevening, Ron and Justine .
It’s always a pleasure to see you both my friends 🤗🤗
I love tea, and if it is possible I will order some from Mr. Tea
What a beautiful place to go to & eat!
What a cute little shop. I will definitely check it out the next time i am out there.
YES, I ASWELL AM A, HERBAL TEA DRINKER!! Do take care. Fl.
Oh sweet! I never knew about that tree.. I'm only about 40 min from there I'm totally gonna go check it out! I'm usually in that area once a month so that's perfect!
Love it! John Endicott also has a college named after him in Massachusetts, Endicott college.
What a cute little tea place! Cheers
I am very impressed with the recipe. These tea cakes remind me of some cookies I make during Christmas time. And Ron, don't feel bad, I don't like caraway seeds either ❤
My oldest really enjoyed chocolate rooibos when I came across it years ago so occasionally I make it for her by just mixing some cacao powder and maple syrup then mixing that into warm rooibus.
Such a fun and interesting video! Thank you for sharing 💜
One of my favorite teas (and I'm a big black tea fan) is Chocolate Cherrybomb from The Tea Spot (online store). 🍫🍒💣☕
Iced coffee. It’s 104 here in Texas
103 at almost 6pm with heat index of 109 just south of Dallas.
🥵
@@annseabolt6645I would die! Hate the heat! Virginia is having an unusual August of 80 degree weather & 60’s at night.
@@bettylavergne3410 we would love those temps
Going to have to order some tea. Yum
How nice.💓
Tea goes in the harbor.
Lavendar makes an interesting flavor. Enjoyed this tea time.😊
Looking forward to watching after evening church Bible Study.❤❤
Please be careful with valerian root.
I loved it as I always do. I've always wondered how it would be to live in the past and you two do so. Good job!
I do drink tea at rendezvous and events. It's mostly that pressed black tea brick from China. For more of an educational experience for visitors. What you do is so much better. I've been humbled.
when your drinking tea I think this is the perfect thing to eat because it's (tea not coffee) a health drink..... AND RIGHT AFTER I TYPED THAT - "I'd give it a 9" - Great minds think a like. Having a super sweat dessert isn't always bad with tea (sometimes it's good) but if your doing as they probably did, and sitting for hours talking over tea, while you may have somethings that are sweet to eat, you will want a majority of your food something that has more substance than just sugar or you will begin to get restless....
Thanks!
All those flavors sound wonderful but I am unfortunately allergic to lavendar, rose and lilac. I love orange water on my baklava instead of rose water. Mad Hatter Tea party sounds amazing!
in uk we have teacakes which are bread balm with currents in it and u toast it and butter
Bummer, I missed you live. Oh well
Valerian root smells awful! Good job Mr. Tea. Any blend that can disguise the scent of valerian is true alchemy!
Awesome video❤
Thank you so much for this segment❤❤❤
I love hibiscus tea, and many other. However, what made me click on this so quick is the mention of tea cake. My grandmother has a recipe form her grandmother or great grandmother for tea cake cookies. Her family made them for the holidays(Thanksgiving &Christmas). Mostly bc the recipe makes about 8-12 dozen cake cookies. Every new Generation is encouraged to add their own spies or glazes to suit them, but the cookies never change. I add more cinnamon and nutmeg as well as add cloves. My daughters did no cloves and added peppermint glaze.
Care to share the recite?
Kitty kitty Mish Mish
❤❤❤
Stevia is often too sweet!
Thank you 🫖
CAN YOU EXPLAIN THE DIFFERENCE IN THE GUYS COLLARS? THANKS
Was honey expensive in this timeframe? Nice video and glad you are using AC in the dangerous heat.
I got green coffee beans and roasted my coffee at events, ground and then boiled my coffee
Guess I’m getting long in the tooth as I’m taking pressed tea to events anymore
yum
❤️❤️❤️
I have diabetes and I use Stevia my A!C has not increased since being told I was diabetic. I have maintained and I contribute that to Stevia.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
