+DJ Odom Always a fun time with the old guy ;)
a Kyle one every now and then is great too.
check
Shawn James, Doug....and Kyle is fun to watch. All these guys are great!! Fun to watch, all have great dogs....
Oh yeah bud
Just revisited this video because it's the first Joe vid I ever saw, 8 years ago, been a big fan ever since. This is vid is so wholesome :)
I grew up in Southern Ontario so Algonquin and the Haliburton Water Trails was always a must in the spring and summer. I have been outside of Ontario living in South Texas for the past 3 years and I cannot explain how much I miss Algonquin. When you put the camera down around 15:40 and just recorded the night sound.... I was almost in tears man... Algonquin Park is hands down the most beautiful place I have ever been and can't wait for the day to go back.
Thank you so much for this video
Great vid as usual. The night scene had me in stitches, you and Doug make a good comedy duo.
Forest Ntt haha, I had to leave it in there, too funny.
Thanks!
Joe be doing it right. Doug too. I haven’t found anyone else who is as unique and entertaining
.
I love all your videos Joe, but I really enjoy this one. I've watched it a couple times. The dynamic between you two is awesome. Must have been a lot of fun for both of you!
passthebreadsauce Thanks, it' always a good time with ol' Dougiebear.
Dude! Doug is awesome! I really enjoyed his personality and you two together are hilarious. Nice video.
Jerry McGaghey thanks, he's ok...;)
Hey Joe really enjoyed the vid. Your campsites were awesome with fabulous scenery. You and Doug are hilarious together and are good camping buddies. Thanks.
Gary Cloud Thanks!
More trips with Doug, please...The comedic timing between you two is perfect.
It’s nice when you guys can just take your time and enjoy the trip. Thanks 🇨🇦👍
I can’t believe I’ve been watching this channel for more then 6 years, I miss Doug content
My absolute favorite video from you so far Joe. You and Doug are hilarious together and it looked like an awesome hike. Give me a shout if you ever do some hiking in BC. Maybe come out for the Juan De fuca or the WCT?
HighOutdoors Thats awesome, I'm glad to hear you liked it.
If I ever get out that way, I'll let you know.
"That is all for my Kyle impressions" Thanks Doug. A real friend. Looks like a fun trip.
Kibble135 hahaha
KYLE!!!! When will you ever surface again????
That made me feel awkward, not sure if it was just a friendly dig or a cheap shot ??
@@CHEEKYMONKEY1618 Just Doug being funny. We are friends.
Take off, hosers! Ha ha. Loved the great white north soundtrack on the road.
Amazing video.
The chemistry is there.
Thanks for sharing this video, and keep them coming.
sp pro Will do!, thanks
Thank you.
Awesome video of your trip. Looked like you guys had quite a bit of fun. I have been watching your videos all weekend.....Take care, Bluefin.
Great video, liking the banter between you and doug whenever you two go on trips. Good laughs.
My lady and I did an 12 day canoe/portage trip from the Algonquin Northern entrance many years ago...only came out when the food was gone. Awesome place awesome trip. Best
Tom M Thanks, it's a great place.
So, minimal setup and you where absolutely fine and happy :) It's good to go minimal now and again to test yourself!
Gordon's Great Outdoors P.S. No tarps? Try a hammock first before you settle on a tent, will make use of your tarps too. I've got a msr elixir 2 'too' which is pretty light and easy, for when I can't be arsed (bothered) hammocking. Also got a snugpak ionosphere which is really small and light for 1 person.
i grew up in Muskoka and have a large property in Dorset. i remember seeing that house when we use to go to my mothers friend's house in the area, i skied on that ski hill many times at least 90% sure its where im thinking. its so nice to see how people react and are awe by what i use to see everyday it is truly a wonderful area.
Doug is such a likeable guy, I really hope to see some more videos with him in the future. Super cool dude!
Another beauty and love all the banter guys!
I live 20 minutes from Algonquin . Love it and the videos !
Doug is awesome. He seems like he would be a blast.
Great video as always Joe
These video's are great. Awesome Editing. You and Doug make a great team
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to experience the Canadian outdoors from my home in Norway ! Nice vid ,I hope to see more of them in the future. Regards Richard .
Richard W. L. yes, sir!
Got to admit, I have never commented on your vids, though watch avidly. But you and Doug are to me the perfect duo! Love shaugn and Kyle plus all others, realy nice guys, but you and Doug have a synergy that works. Hope others aren't offended, just a personal opinion. God, I wish we had your country's beauty and climate over here in England.
I can't believe you captured on video the moment when your buddy goes from kidding around right over the line and totally pisses you off ,always on the last day ofthe trip, lol great video!
dml505 lol, thanks!
Thanks for sharing Joe
My wife and I went in the fall.
A couple of baby bears got lost from their mom. One came into our camp. We shot bear bangers. Flares even chased the darn bear up a tree it would not leave.
It was attracted to our mio raspberry flavour drops . We were getting ready for a hike but needed to wait 25 minutes or so for the beaver fever pellets.
We end up hiking back to the car. Pretty much a full day's hike We left just after breakfast.
I also called a Moose at the first site. It got fairly close a big male did not want him to think I was a female.
Fond memories. We have hiked a fair amount of the trail in winter sometimes with snow shoes and some times not. Depending on the time of the year.
This was hilarious and exactly what I was looking for! Who knew us Canadians were so funny!
You have to bring Doug again this year that was so funny :)
The dynamic is pure gold. Love to see some Ontario action.
Good trip Joe. Thanks for taking us along... Algonquin is an awesome place...I live less than a hour away so I feel blessed. Take care brother...See you on the next one...Rod
You should do more videos with Doug he is hilarious!
***** he is a funny guy.
Just found this channel and this is one of my favorite videos. You and Dougie work well together. Hilarious!!!
Another great video. I appreciated the prep video as well. Good to see your train of thought in keeping things light. Well done.
YorkWoodsman Thanks!
OMG! Jump around by Doug is great!
Great video Joe, you and Doug mix it up, nice!
Always fun watching your videos. It seems like you and Doug have a really good friendship and have so much fun together. Super cool!
I freaking love Doug! He is thee MAN!
Awesome vid makes me exited to get back up to algonquin. I stayed at campsite #2 once and spent a few hours after midnight laying on the slabs of rock by the water just staring at the stars its a nice site.
Hi Joe. As a fairly new subscriber I'm checking out some of your old videos and it's great to see more of you and Doug. When ever i watch you two together I end up laughing so much. Thanks guys. Your two in a million. Wayne (From the U.K)
Une belle randonnée dans un cadre magnifique, merci pour le bol d'aire !
Excellente continuation a toi Tchao
Those HD shots when you lay the cam down are amazing looking.
28 Dabs Later Thanks, bro!
You want some good chocolate oatmeal, just carry one of those packets of hot chocolate mix. Sprinkle in a spoonful into your oatmeal, and it's almost too much. Good trick for those of us that don't care for plain oatmeal.
It took me a while but I finally finished watching! Hey, this is just really well done and super entertaining to watch. What more could you want out of a hiking video? Answer: not much! Thanks for sharing!
WoodsTrekka' thanks!!
You've outdone yourself yet again with this vide Joe, a real pleasure to watch and edited very well. Many thanks for sharing dude ~Peace~
Zed Outdoors Nice of you to say, Zed!
You're the man.
Great vid as always. Thanks for taking us along and sorry to Doug for taking us along! Ho ho! :)
Love your videos. Real natural and down to earth guy stuff. You two are a laugh a minute. I like the idea of a tarp but yours doesn't look like it would really protect you in the rain. It seems a little short.
Lol you guys are so funny and cool
Great video Joe, Nice scenery and I enjoy your comedy. Mini Doug's photos on facebook are great lol.
Deranged Survival haha, thanks Man.
Thank you , Joe .
Ole Joe Robinet bushcraft eh? An oldie but a goodie! Why thank you for another fancy video 2015 Joey 🏕 🪓
i smiled big time when doug did the head pinch perspective in the camera haha
I don't know why but Im just binge watching these videos with Kitchen Nightmare videos. Anyone else feel the same?
Justin Mungoway omg that's legit been me the past two days . really weird lol
yea same here binge watching wishing i could go hiking/camping/kanoeing
Justin Mungoway Lol I like it! I did one very secluded area, I wonder as anyone find it.
I had to laugh when you made your Kansas comment. I visited Canada in August while on vacation and I remember looking at my wife and saying this looks like Kansas. I am from Kansas City, MO, so I get to see the Kansas landscape quite a bit.
You have very *different* landscapes all around Algonquin, though. Woods north of it, considerable hills to the SE, lots of cosy lakes to the SW... Those farming flats are merely one among the various kinds of landscapes you find in southern Ontario.
What a blast ! You guys were a riot ! Very funny, and what an awesome area. Thanks so much for sharing man. Peace
Cragdwella thanks! it was fun.
I stayed at that EXACT site at Provoking Lake West. So cool to see it again. Thanks for taking us on the trip with you, I really enjoyed it
Great video Joe! Your friends are as goofy as mine are. Hope you bring Doug along again! Nice going!
I freaking love the adventure and comedy! Ba-Baaam!

I think this is the best video on UA-cam:)
I love doug, his mean look doesn't fool me hahahahaha
And as I watch you're video I realize that I have been in the highlands before as well... Some years ago in the winter, we actually lost a member of our group somehow he wound up on the opposite side of the lake. We caught up with him the next day, all had a good laugh over it. Cheers!
One good thing about living here in the west, I can camp 1/2 hour from home, the downside is in good weather you need to travel at least 2 hours to get away from the crowdsI spend 1 week a month in Ontario for work and may have to take an extra few days to try some hiking out your way
Ah, sweet memories... I did the third loop solo on the *West* Highlands trail exactly one year before, end of May 2014, from the West Gate all around Islet Lake. I saw two people in five days, both Park rangers, nobody else north of the line Maggie - Guskewau...
Algonquin Park is really worth the time you spend there, thanks for the great pictures!
You are taking it easy and yet making great progress, that's fun to watch. :-)
I used the bicycle to get to the park from Ottawa and cycled back with my tent via Wasaga Beach - Toronto - Kingston. That helped to see a bit more than merely the 401.
Doug is a riot! Thanks for bringing us on this amazing trip - the rivers and falls were awesome. At the 27:00 mark when you guys were on that log jam was a rush - exciting stuff! BEAUTY!
Awesome videos man. Have inspired me to get back to the outdoors after more than 8 years of no trekking. Cant thank you enough.
Aw man, totally should have carried that antler with you! That was SO cool!
wow thats actually a great pointer for the headlamps 👌👌
Hi Joe.
I haven't commented before despite having watched loads of your videos and loving them.
Had to comment on this: I absolutely LOVE the interaction between you and Doug, it is clear you guys know each other well and the fooling about makes me laugh and wish I was there.
All the best, do more videos with your friends.
thanks, he's a good friend :)
Joe and Doug what a great trip. You guys had me laughing at your antics!! That little guy knew you still had 2 chocolate almonds left!! The setting reminded me of the film Golden Pond with the loons. Looking forward to your next one. I prefer my hammock for sleeping ,but I still think I have a smaller pack with my little tent.Cheers Mary
Mary McN Thanks, Mary!
Wow! You guys have so much fun! Great video! Lynn XXX
Excellent road tunes. Hubby and I did the 19km loop last week. 8 hours and our legs were jello
Coo Roo Coo Coo Coo Coo Coo Coo! Take off hey! LOL Bob & Doug Mckenzie!
Grew up listening to those two when I lived in Southern Canada (aka Wisconsin)
for a couple of years!
I remembers always feeling bad because I lived in the New York City area
and always dreamed of moving to the country and being around the woods.
When I finally did it (West Virginia), I still had to drive a half hour just to get
to a campsite and well over an hour and a half to get into some deep woods
and even then, I was working too much or just couldn't get out.
In an hour, where I'm at now having moved back to the suburbs of NY from WV,
I can be in grounds that Nessmuk used to paddle. And that's a damn good thing.
If I put in 4 hours, I can be in the famed Adirondacks and I'm within 5 minutes of
literally hundreds of acres of heavily wooded forests.
Just recently, I came across this tidbit that made me feel
better though by one of my favorite writers on Woodcraft...
"...for, even within fifty miles of New York City there are hundreds
of camping grounds that will give endless variety of diet and sport."
Warren Hastings Miller
Campcraft 1915
The Yankee Woodsman I hear ya...where I live is home, but I just wish it were closer to some bigger forests, lakes and hills.
I know it's a old vid but just wanted to say, loving the yellow truck!!!
Good trip lads! Its been a long, long time since I been in Algonquin Park, so thanks for sharing that. P.S. Never trust the weather report! ;-)
Wintertrekker haha, no doubt!
This video has given me the itch to get out there. Thanks for that. You and Doug are awesome. More videos of you guys going out plz!
Great shot of Huntsville! Hometown proud!
great video, you and your brother from another mother are hilarious! keep it up!
Totally enjoyed this one..That looked like a great trail to hike. Cheers Guys.
Great video Joe. It was nice seeing the dynamic between you and Joe as well as the nature on trail. As a fellow Ontarian I would like to do that trail myself.
This is the first time I ever regret reading the comment section on one of your videos omg.... as always great filming.
Thanks heaps for that blokes, fun & interesting all at the same time.I love you're work mate. Keep on keep'n on Joe, the worlds a garden man we all should dig it.
James Blanton I dig it ;)
Hilarious. I was so pleased to find one of your videos I hadn't seen yet.
Awesome trip thanks for sharing joe!
Jason Chasteen for sure!

Best Joe video of all time
One of, if not my favorite, channels to watch. Great video Joe, happy camping!
Looks like a great time
You 'n Doug are both nutz! :)
Cant wait to get the kids back to that park i like doing the trails there my coat is full of the patches that you can buy for the trails you finshed.
Recently started watching your videos Joe ..great stuff ,I'm working my way through all your videos ,I feel like I'm there with you....ha ha ha ..Canadian wilderness rocks man ..all we have down under is gum trees ...lol...
Stayed at campsite 2 last time I went hiking in Algonquin. Great site.
You guys need to do a whole Joe and Doug series. I did that same loop twice last Fall and actually have that same MEC pack lol. I forget the price but they had it on clearance and I couldn't walk away.
ps... literally 30 seconds before u did that 'come back to pick up the trail cam' thing, I was sitting here thinking... gee I wish just ONCE u'd show u coming back for the GoPro. Then u did! lol.
man I love your channel. found you through the show "alone" and have been following you for a couple of years. wish we could have met up when you were living back in Windsor. I've grown up living in Windsor my whole life and have got into canoe trips throughout Algonquin for about 4 years. I've travelled roughly 550km of the park so I understand the struggle of having to drive so far to go there haha. anyways much love man, you along with doug and the other 3 or 4 youtubers you do trips with inspire me to start my own thing and document some of the crazy adventures we go on. Hope to cross paths with you one day Joe , until then keep the adventures coming and the dream alive! Cheers.
I love your videos. And so very sorry you lost that house. Never give up though.
I was looking away at 20:46 when you said "Urination station.... Epic stream crossing" Hahaha.
