Gyarados is a solid choice as well. Its raw stats and good move pool are definitely top tier. Hyper beams recharge is broken in gen 1 and by the time Gyarados learns it, its almost always a 1 hit ko so you can just spam it over and over against an entire team. It was almost always how I dealt with your rivals Alakazam and Exeggutor in the late game
Might have trouble against Lorelei, ice beam and blizzard can really hurt
Gyarados is just an overall top tier choice
Congress on 2k subs. i am probably late on that but hey a great series its sounding like. Wonder if you do more then gen 1-3 content. Not gonna force it but hey it's something to do gen 4 or 5.

@@pokerebels While I like gen 5 more. Honestly think that gen 4 introduced better mons. Garchomp and lucario is some of the best mons ever and I always try to get them on my team.

I think the most reliable way to beat Pokemon Gen 1 Games + Remakes (excluding Yellow and Let’s Go Games) with only 1 Pokemon and without catching a Pokemon is Squirtle since you need Surf to progress and Squirtle can learn Surf

I think I'd choose Alakazam. Alakazam (and even Kadabra) was just silly OP in the gen 1 games. Especially with a good moveset like psychic, psybeam, reflect, and recover. The only things they have trouble with are the Drowzees Kogas gym trainers use, the Sabrina battles, and your rivals Alakazam. Other then that Alakazam can sweep about anything with a single psychic attack
I mean psychic types were broken in gen 1 so I get it
Yeah but honestly I never realized how OP Starmie was in gen 1. There arent a whole lot of electric or grass types you go up against and the movepool os incredibly strong. Ive almost always had Blastoise, Gyarados, or Lapras as my main water type and never gsve Starmie the time of day. Your video inspired me to give Starmie a chance on my next playthrough
Exeggutor is a slept on tank of a Pokémon in gen 1. Fire moves werent super common in Gen 1 and its resistant to the OP psychic type.
