How to Build a Fire in a Wood Stove
- In this video I'll show you how I start a fire in my workshop's stove in less than 5 minutes with sawdust, wood shavings, and scraps from woodworking. This old stove is a gift from my brother, who bought it at a local flea market. My workshop is not connected to my house, so in winter it regularly gets down to 0C/35F inside, which is a pain. Now I can get my 30m2 (4m ceiling) workshop in half an hour and easily keep it warm while I'm working.
I hope you enjoy this video. Feel free to ask whatever you want. Merry Christmas to everyone.

If it's a cast iron stove, you should build up heat gradually if the stove isn't seasoned.
Cast is actually porus and the moisture being released too quickly can cause cracks.
Que agusto se tiene que estar ahí. Feliz Navidad
me encanta tu estufa👍
Feeling warmer as I watch. Thanks
Haha, fantastic! Happy new year.
That’s simple yet economical 😊
Sure!

Decades ago I used to work on private in-house railways: Steel foundries, mines, quarries, etc. We had a small sectional hut with a stove almost identical to that which was moved from job to job. Apart from the same physical work as the rest of the 'gang' it was my duty to light that stove every morning and keep it burning all day. To that end the company made sure we had a sufficient supply of coke to burn. Despite the lack of insulation, the shed was toasty in the coldest of Winters, but could be kept cool enough by opening the door and windows. I wish I could find another at a decent price to take over from my home workshop's wood burner.
You know what? I've got some scrap industrial sized argon cylinders, 4" steel tubing and welding equipment. I think I'll *make* one! 😃
Very nice story. I'm proud of my little stove!

Uff orgasmo auditivo jajajajaja
Para prender , también vale un papel ,
Und should wind a copper tube around and fill them with water.
Thanks but I don't need to use that stove for heating water.
First comment and first like. Greetings from Moldova!
Thank you, much appreciated!
Just not necessary to start with such a massive blow in a small stove, I suspect there would be flames licking right up into the chimney. A handful of shavings, then bits of wood, start it from below of course, but I am uncomfortable with a huge initial burn.
I appreciate your knowledge. Thanks.
hi dearest
One way to value add your wood waste... (no waste - just some ashes)
Yes indeed!
Muito bom 🤔👏👏👏
Obrigado!
Neat.
Thanks John!

Nice little stove, does it give off much heat for the workshop?
Well it depends on the previous room temperature and the type of wood I burn but in most cases, if I start feeding it gently with Holm Oak branches it can deliver a lot of heatin less than 20 minutes to my working area.
That is an interesting design. I will be making a stove with my everlast welder. Does this one put out good heat?
Hi Omar! Yes indeed. It delivers enough heat for my cold workshop during the winter. Good luck!
Sir where do you find a stove top like this?
Thông minh
How long did it burn?
That depend on the wood you have to burn, lol. You can adjust air intake to slow down or speed up the combustion.
Where can I get a stove like that?

What steel was in the top sir?
As the whole stove, it is cast iron. Regards
If it's square..you may put peltier module arround it..and voila..you have a charging station while cooking
I'm not that smart to do that
👍👍👍👍👍
What is the cost
wish I could get a sawdust stove in Canada
What do you mean? There are no stoves like this in Canada? I'm sure you can find one.
@@WoodworkingBarcelona my research has come up empty

If you build a fire in a Wooden Stove, how do you keep the stove from burning up.
keep feeding it enough so it doesn't get too hungry and eat itself...
How to make the trap ? Where is the trap bought ?
What do you mean with the trap?
@@WoodworkingBarcelona i mean: the iron cover. Sorry! I said THE TRAP
That cover already came with the stove. Regards!

What is this wood stove called?
In my country is commonly known as "Estufa Piñonera"
You can even hear the sound of the clock!
Right! I have two clocks on my workshop. You know. If I spend too much time on it my wife gets mad 😂

I can show ya how to start a fire with no shavings, no kindling. Just a home made fire starter and regular wood. But it seems like you want to get rid of the shavings.
In a woodworking shop there are always wood shavings, sawdust or wood chips or scraps to burn. So this is what I burn in my stove. Regards!
