Congratulations David I've commented over the last few years with you passing A1-A8. And it is always an achievement to pass any ASE test!! Especially advanced-level but they all are very important test and I'm very proud to see you were able to finally pass L1 it is not an easy test. The only thing I wish you would have touched more about in this video David was about the Composite 4 vehicle that ASE uses. I myself am studying for this test also and currently I'm putting a lot of time and energy into it and I feel it's very important to people to know about the Composite 4 vehicle. But I did want to say congratulations I think it's awesome I've watched your journey and super proud of you man!!! Your friend In Columbus Ohio!!l
Hi, Gary! Thank you for all the support throughout the years, I truly appreciate it. I’m not sure if you saw my first L1 video but I talk a-little about the composite vehicle but don’t got into detail. Doing a video about the composite vehicle is not a bad idea. Let me look into it for later down the road.

Honestly guys this guy's guidance and study material is integral for passing the L1. I followed his instruction almost to a t and got his study sheet. The study sheet will help a lot! I did pass it first try and I used both books(delmar and motorage but only the practice test from motorage), ases own practice test and his study sheet. Thanks a bunch @driverstherapy!!

Congrats man. The way I explain the L1 is you have to actually have hands on experience with these systems. You tube vids and study guides only get you so far. If you see and physically touch these parts and frequently repair these systems.Doing this you will have way better practical knowledge that will greatly help you in taking this test.
Of course, but there is a lot of stuff there that many technicians no matter how long they do it will be "experts". The L1 adds questions to see if someone can also read, look-up, or find the resources to fix an issue. No one is ever going to do every single repair on every single car. That is why there is "general" questions on broad topics.

Congratulations bro... I am getting my L1 recertification currently and failed my 1st attempt at recertification by one question. Congratulations on passing, as this test is a doozy.😎
That happened to me too. By two questions. It’s a hard one but you got it. You are so close!!!
I used the delmar for my A8 last october as my only book and i found alot of the material in the book to be more outdated compared to what was actually on the test, is the L1 version more updated
I don’t think it is updated but I would not rely solely on any book including the L1 Motorage book. The L1 requires one to study using as many sources as you can. I used the MotorAge, Delmar, and extra sources to go into a deep dive in topics I was not an expert in. You have to go deep in the topics and once you do, you see it all connects.
Are you allowed to take the composite vehicle booklet in with you when you take the test? Having a hard time memorizing what all of the ECM and other computer pins go to what but if I can have the booklet that shouldn't be an issue

@DriversTherapy went for it today and holy cow that was absolutely the most intense test I've ever taken. Passed it by the skin of my teeth but my brain was practically jelly by the time I walked out

@@angelrodriguea Hello! The L1 is only the study sheet that we emailed you. However, we do have two amazing L1 videos here on UA-cam for free. 😃
@@angelrodriguea there is no material to access. It’s a pdf study sheet enrolled to you. Our L1 videos are free. Check them out on our channel.
