Unaware of any Tchaikovsky piano music, I heard _June (Barcarolle)_ at the funeral of my father's friend of sixty years. Got home. Switched on the radio. _BBC Radio 3 Afternoon Concert._ Exactly the same piece came on.

Tchaikovsky is really great! Highly recommend to listen his ballet music(Nutcracker,Swan Lake) piano concerto 1 Bflat minor,6th symphony(Patetique) e.t.c

Eugene Onegin's Waltz, second and fourth movement of his third string quartet, first and fourth movement of his first symphony, the whole first act of Nutcracker (my second favourite composition ever), 1812, Romeo and Juliet (first and third versions), Valse Sentimentale, overture of Queen of Spades...
My favourite composer so far. I'm either trying to find music I haven't heard from him or other composers as good as him. However, in the latter case, I'm being unlucky. None of them is as good as Tchaikovsky.

What I love about the seasons is that there isn't really any obvious symbolism. One can listen to the January piece without picturing a fireside.

I noticed that the background picture for April does not match the name - "Snowdrop". Snowdrop is actually a flower which blossoms in spring, not the snowfall. Magnificent music though. Halidonmusic is one of the best channels around.

Actually there are several kinds of Snowdrop flowers -- some blossom in spring and autumn, but the most common blossom from January to April/May in northern climes, including through snow.
