Have driven this car around town for about a week before and one long distance trip. The 1.2 is adequately powered and space wasn't a problem because I was alone most of the time. I'm almost 2m tall a bit fat and I was okay with the comfort (don't know about the person sitting behind me though lol). Fuel consumption stayed at 5.2 even when doing unthinkable things on the freeway. Easiest car to park I've ever driven, doesn't really need that camera coz you'll fit comfortably in most spaces. Lights at night are very bright, even their dim was comfortably bright. If money wasn't an issue, I'd definitely buy this car for driving around town.
Finally 😅, Muzi we need to agree on an uploading schedule so that if you don’t upload we can hold you accountable, remember some of us are hooked to this content and if stay too long without uploading you will have blood on your hands. Anyway thanks for the great content 👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿.
You are absolutely 100% correct about buying a top model of a budget car. I own a 2016 Picanto 1.2EX Auto that I bought brand new. Was the top model back then. And yes it's a good little car. BUT God knows if you take into account the interest of finance its not worth the nearly 300k I paid over 7 years. I could have kept driving my Tazz and saved up over 7 years and bought a much better car today. I feel like I'm driving the most expensive Picanto in the country! I really have learned this lesson the hard way!
Hi. This is a very interesting take and it has made me think a lot since I was considering a Kia Picanto start. Would that not be a good car to purchase as it is the cheapest picanto and as you mentioned, the top model becomes pricey
My first car (and only car I have for now😊😂) I highly recommend a Picanto for a budget car. It’s so comfortable and very easy on fuel. My only problem is space. But it’s okay😊 cz I live alone.
i had the picanto as a work vehicle for about 5 months and did over 40k km due to the distances i travel. i kid you not that 1 litre engine did 160kmph with ease and there were times i did way more. these small engine cars do very well on the long roads and i had no issues not one even though i literally redlined it everyday.
The commentary always kills me 😂😂 "your memorial service may be sooner than you think" But always informative besides the shade 😂 thank you once again!

I loved the driving experience of this car. I've driven a Ayga, Kwid, Espresso and Datsun Go before and the Picanto comes out tops when compared to the mentioned budget cars. Love the content as always Muzi😉 Still waiting on the Mini Cooper review
Thank you my brother. I agree with everything you say. I had a Picanto for five years. Brilliant handling, good fuel economy and served me well (bought it for R130 000 brand new). Trips from Windhoek down to Cape Town with no problems. Tiny boot though as you say, and not much space inside either. And I think there's a steering column issue. I had to replace it at 110 000km (R32 000!) and it started making knocking sounds again shortly afterwards. So now I drive a Haval H1 - also a tiny boot (although it has a nice feature - a sliding cover - which you can leave retracted meaning you put the suitcase up in a vertical position), but similar fuel economy and higher ground clearance and many more features (reverse sensors, cruise control) - cost me just R120 000 (with 40 000km on the clock).
I agree with you la mfwethu its by far the best handling budget car, i also think for its pice it's reasonable, cause kia has been a brand thats been pushing for years now, its ideal for both men and women and in this 21st century, buying a budget car that will get you from point A to Point B is the dream, makuneykhukhula hlala endlini😂😂 and if ubana lina kakhulu stay at home, but honestly this car is good and the build quality is high for its standard, i appreciate the review of it and ngizoythenga😂😂🤞
You are right this is the perfect 2nd car. My wife has one and we use it 90% of the time. I even chose it for town as it is nippy and so easy to park and take the gaps when you see all these tough cats making 5-point turns trying to park their Fortuner in a mall... With petrol prices this thing is so cheap to run still. BTW I am over 6ft tall and I fit just fine and my wife and toddler on the other side. Long-distance trips will be impossible with luggage though.
😂 not you coming for my car 💔 Space is a problem won’t lie. But ke feature wise I thought it was a good budget car and loved that it came with Apple car play. I think if you looking to get one you should aim for a demo or used. I agree it’s not worth it buying a brand new Picanto. I got mine for R194K negotiated, only got 3K off. It’s a 1.0 street 2022 model and it had 2400kms

Ive driven one and they're really comfortable, great handling, good performance, very compact and good enough space if you're single. Its not a budget car, since parts are expensive as well as servicing those goes. i recently worked on a Picanto, its a tedious job ngl. But overall id say a picanto is a good daily driver and worth the money if you've got it. its definitely not a family car.
Strangely , the Picanto weighs more than the swift. I'd personally still go for the Picanto. It's not like I'd need to carry big bags everyday. I'd be spending most of the time by myself in the car. They must just do away with that 1 litre engine and revise their pricing
Yeah Muzi as I have said that litres thing for trunk space makes no sense. More useful is taking a tape measure to it, but i think car makers think were stupid and cant deal with all those numbers on car brochures😵
I rented this car when my audi broke down 😅, drove it for a week with 4.9 l/100km. It's a decent package. My only complaint is the sound insulation on certain mpumalanga roads. It sounds like those plastic kids bikes.
8:49 Do you usually down hill drive in neutral-gear? It is believed that it will save fuel I know this. Switching to neutral will reduce the control you have over the car as they say... From experience does coasting factually reduce wear & tear on the transmission? Either the clutch depressed or the gear stick in neutral - or both at the same time - as the wheels are disengaged from the engine, meaning engine braking?
It actually does not save fuel, you only save fuel when the gear is engaged but you are coasting. Just try it driving a car that shows realtime consumption and you will see.
Hi there. Love your videos. I know in the end you purchased a Suzuki swift. But I really want to know how do you compare the picanto to the Grand i10? I still hate myself for not test driving the picanto and buying the Gi10 when they gave me a very good offer both purchase price and finance. I know the picanto technically had the biggest engine right now. At 1.25 vs the Suzuki and the Hyundai. I’m interested to know your opinion because you have said that the Gi10 is your favorite of the bunch of small cars you have looked at. Thanks. Regards.
The only reason why I would consider a Picanto is that it has a temperature gauge, I don't know why the other small cars don't have them. I like the 1.2 because of more power.
The most important thing in boot space is the shape of the boot and not litres. Weeks ago i watched the video between the normal H6 and the H6 GT because i'm interested in the GT and in paper the boot on the normal H6 seemed waaaay bigger compared to the GT but last week when i went to the Haval Dealership to review both cars the things you can fit in the normal H6 can easily fit in the GT while on paper they say 600L vs 392L. Both boot spaces are very big. You can easily fit a subwoofer in the GT and still be left with A LOT of bootspace. Boot "Litres" is actually irrelevent to be honest. You need to go to the dealership and actually see or even try to fit things inside the boot to see the actual size. A Polo hatchback has 355 litres of bootspace while the GT is 392 litres but comparing the two the shape of the GT boot makes the boot almost 2 times bigger than the polo.
HII I HAVE 2022 picanto 1.0 and the transmission is auto. I would like to ask if it’s not for the engine to be warm so fast or maybe I’m just overthinking. And the car has 28000KM on the clock ?

I'm buying the street 1.0 ML brand new in Dec next month. I hardly drive as I work from home and am a small person. Plus need something extremely light on fuel. You're saying it's not worth it cause of the reverse sensors and space?
The deal breaker for me is the engine size. For a 1.0L picanto street you'll pay around R217 000(brand new) and that's too much for a 1.0L 3-cylinder engine. With other brands that money can get you a decent 4-cylinder engine vehicle. I would suggest that you look for a nice demo or pre-owned picanto that will cost not more than R200k.
