I was there at that time. Robert Glasper Experiment's time is one of my best music concert I ever have. Perfect weather, perfect sunset, perfect background (many pine trees made the stage be awesome.) and the MUSIC!!!!!
Glas you're crushing the entire industry with what many say is ground breaking live performances. Got a buddy in NYC and when I mentioned your name his eyes lit up and said no one is doing the stuff that you're doing. Proud that you're tilting the game!
I just took this to my Phone and my Sony Headset on a long trip on the airplane to Los Angeles. This hit the spot for everything. This is going to the car, to the hotel, to the morning commute. This is a rarity great sound from a superb band who is underrated. Kind of the ROOTS of Jazz fusion and R&B such talent. I am glad you recorded this, they hit the hell out of everyone in that audience, they weren't prepared for RGE and his incredible talent. His sound is a JDilla/TribeCalledQuest/DeLaSoul fusion of collective beats, rhythms, rhymes, sounds, in depth soulful caliber gunshots to the spinal cord while dripping honey down your sore throat healing type of monkey barrel business good!!!
Phil Handy Only thing missing is Jill Scott/Bilal/Lalah Hathaway and Erykah Badu, The Roots to headline this with ?uestlove playing dual drums in that set, can you imagine how your heart would smash through your chest and slap the taste out your mouth type of amazing musical experience? Soul Lift OFF!
Dude you captured a moment in history! I have seen Robert Glasper w Casey at least 5 times in the states. You captured them after their volumes were full, so this is perfectly celebrating Casey's unfortunate passing
The drumming I love. It’s like Jack Dejohnette on sped up! At one point it sounds like there’s two drummers workin’ the same kit!! Someone may have warned some of the audience so much head bobbin’ could cause folks to break their necks!!! Wisdom from Busta Rhymes!!!
Mark Colenburg is the most versatile drummer/percussionist I've never seen and its unfair to compare him to Chris Dave because he is so much better!!! That's why he's on the Grammy Team and play's with Symphony Orchestras with Robert Glasper.......absolute Beast!!!!!!
Dennis Linley Highly debatable since Chris Dave plays a wider array of styles and has a signature style I have yet to see matched. Also he has a Grammy from Adele's album.
Turner McDougal I'm sure Mark can and has played a wide array of music like Chris Dave. Both have credits for jazz, r&b, and hip-hop and who knows what else.
+Turner McDougal I may have been premature to say what I said but I'm merely going off of UA-cam videos I've seen but I know Chris Dave is a beast as well i just like Mark's aggressive style better but both top notch
The drummer (Mark Colenburg) plays with more density and speed than the very talented Jack Dejohnette! At one point it sounds as though there’s two drummers simultaneously playing on the same kit!!
+Laxx Kidd I got to see the Robert Glasper Experiment last week and I can tell you I couldn't stop dancing and jamming all the concert ... It would have been weird if we sat down ...
OK I realize Teen Spirit is an automatic crowd pleaser when played by RGE to certain audiences, but with every performance the song seems to degenerate more and more into some kind of mushy lounge act number. Benjamin's vocal stylizations in particular are now completely antithetical to the character of the song. Maybe that's why most of the lyrics have been dispensed with. The Black Radio album version is great.
RIP Casey Benjamin 😞

Superb audio quality for a live recording, thank you very much!
What type of camera did you use bro?
The audio was amazing for a live outside recording
The quality in this video and sound is pleasing. I have been working with this video for the past two years and it never lets me down. Thank you

Robert Glasper is no joke
Yet each time I see and hear him, I can’t stop smiling.

Thanks so much for posting this! This looks like an awesome concert to have attended.
Yoooo the flying lotus cover??? Glasper with the sickness!!!
그리워라 ㅠㅠ 내 인생 가장 행복했던 순간이었어. 당신들 최고야 👍🏻 Casey Benjamin love you ❤️
Masterful use of the vocoder by the lead singer.
Good audio quality, thank you for the upload!
I love this group
RIP Casey 🙏🏽❤️
Mark Colenburg went absolutely bonkers!

+Dennis Linley I love Mark but that statement is very much so debatable. Chris ain't nothing to play with 20+ years strong and unmatched.
+Dennis Linley Go watch Robert Glasper at Berkley and see what Chris does there his (rewind technique) is serious and signature.
+Turner McDougal I may have been premature to say what I said but I'm merely going off of UA-cam videos I've seen but I know Chris Dave is a beast as well i just like Mark's aggressive style better but both top notch
Bruh
South Korea Was blesssssssssed!

excelente gracias por compartir .......
Teen Spirit is my personal favorite.
Wonder what RGE sound like with Mathew Garrison? A bit darker?
The drummer (Mark Colenburg) plays with more density and speed than the very talented Jack Dejohnette! At one point it sounds as though there’s two drummers simultaneously playing on the same kit!!
Where is Derrick Hodge??? Hopefully he needed a fill in for the gig.
haha yeah he was playing at the Atlanta jazz festival on this date

That's the amazing Burniss Earl Travis II

I feel like when you go to a jazz concert you should not be standing. you should be relaxing or something.
+Laxx Kidd I got to see the Robert Glasper Experiment last week and I can tell you I couldn't stop dancing and jamming all the concert ... It would have been weird if we sat down ...
