I bought a Heli M last week and I love it. I shot bows from PSE, Hoyt, Diamond, Bow tech, Quest G 5, and Mathews I liked alot of them but I bought a Heli M. I don't know why people bash any company shoot what you like. Mathews continues to keep pushing and tweaking their bow line. They definitely are top class.
I just got the Mathews Heli-M and i have to say, it's the best shooting bow i have ever had. i use to shoot the Mathews Switchback and i can honestly say it was a huge improvement in the speed, weight, sound, and the pull back. To my opinion i have to say this is the best bow of the year.
I had an issue with holding this bow steady.... all i did was add a little more stabillizer weight and fixed it just went from a 6 oz to 9 oz worked like a charm and closed up the groups very well
Well, I have a PSE bow, and a Hoyt bow and they are a excellent bows. No question about it. But last August I visited R&R, Belchertown Ma and I shot the PSE Dream Season and the Mathews Helim. Was really easy for me ... MATHEWS HELI-M.
Can you do a review on the Mathews ZXT 2013? the key that sold me on NOT buying the Heli-M is the blazer vanes do not clear the guard. This is huge people. If you shot out to 30 from a tree stand, not such a big deal. If you shoot here in AZ out to 90 yards for deer and antelope it is a HUGE deal!
about the cable guard being in the way of vanes, the videos on the mathews home page of the helim says the guard flexes out of the way so i dont know if that would allow clearance for vanes or not
Great review...let me tell you how good this bow is, I've NEVER shot a compound bow in my life, I bought this as my first bow I've ever owned....EVER, and hit a bullseye on my first shot (I had an arrow rest and sight added for the record) at about 15 yards...yeah, not far, but for a complete novice I think thats pretty good.
You guys hating on Mathews, i can almost guarantee, have not shot this bow. I shot the hoyt vector, pse dream season, and the insanity before i BOUGHT the heli m. It is a super smooth draw, rock solid back wall, and plenty fast. And oh yeah, it shoots f'n lights out. Lots of great bows to choose from out there. This one is at the top.
I just got my Helim and it is definately the smoothest drawing bow I have ever shot so how do you call that standing still? I am shooting 305fps with my hunting arrows and thats right out of the box and through on a down force rest,d loop and a peep. I think once I do a final tune and get the arrows I want to shoot out of this bow it should be a few fps faster.. In my opinion outstanding job by mathews .
Yeah ive been off the "mathews " band wagon ever since my last MQ1 , ive been shooting Hoyt for years but now im a BIG fan of Elite and thats what i shoot personaly...This heli-m is still a very nice bow but they (mathews) seem to be standing still while other bow manf are flying by them. Just my opinion
they always saying that new mathew bows are the best but i like my 2009 mathew DXT way....better.....the raiser are much shorter and i can pull 70 bound really easy too...but no matter what bows it is they're still killing machine...my recurve bow is a deadly bows too!!
Oh marketing at its finest! They make a good bow, don't get me wrong, but they are no way the best available. There is no best available bow, just the one that is right for the individual person, which is why there are so many different companies.
you dont have to make new bows when no bow draws as smooth as a mathews just waiting for others to make a bow that draws as smooth then i will try another brand
@Limestonebowhunter Its not the lightest bow on the market, the Hoyt rkt is 3.6lbs also. That is one loss and 305fps set up isnt fast nor impressive. Many companies have been producting faster, smoother bows for years and yes, this is coming from someone who shot Mathews for 6 years on their prostaff, so this is an unbias and accurate observation. They are more than standing still, they are going backwards.
@Limestonebowhunter The Heli-M may be the lightest bare bow, but once you add the required brackets to mount sights and a quiver on, it is right around 3.8 pounds. As far as standing still, they have basically made the same bow the past 3 years, only this year they shaved the riser down. Not much new innovation from them in a while. They have been caught and past

Great honest review. Thanks for taking the time to make this video and please don't let haters influence your work. I learned a lot from this video.
I've had this bow for one day my 3rd shot I robin hood an arow it holds so steady I love it
just picked this up used and am stoked!

Great review! The Bow Tech Commander is such a smooth bow... I wonder if this bow is just as smooth as the Commander?

Its a wood grip guys ...sorry for having the wrong tree

@330Outdoors They build the lightest bow on the market, extremely smooth draw, great balance and feel and you say they are "standing still"?

Matthew's still standing still these days??? Seems like they are dominating
Nice video dude. I have a Mathews ZXT coming in. Heard anything about it?
Could you do a review of the Mission archery riot
not standing still when they have the best bows available by far!
I think most people DISLIKE the grip, not like it.
they always saying that new mathew bows are the best but i like my 2009 mathew DXT way....better.....the raiser are much shorter and i can pull 70 bound really easy too...but no matter what bows it is they're still killing machine...my recurve bow is a deadly bows too!!
Best mathews bow ever. .way better than creed..faster and lighter

and if you are a ''pro shooter'' you should know the getting the spec speed on a hunting set up is near impossible.

last i checked 3.5 is lighter than 3.6.. get your specs right.

They came out with another rollergaurd so it does not hit.
