He represented Serbia and Montenegro in 2004 with this song, placing second. He also represented Serbia in 2012 with the song "Nije ljubav stvar", placing third.
He composed "Lejla" for Bosnia and Herzegovina which ended third in the finals of the Eurovision 2006, "Oro" for Serbia, Eurovision 2008, and "Adio" for Montenegro, Eurovision 2015.

In Balkan countries we love this song, it was one of the greatest hits ever!! It's so special!
I recommend you to react to "Voda" by Elitsa Todorova, Bulgarian eurovision song from 2007! It was one of those unique songs and it made it to the finals and classified 3rd I think!

Not that he made twice in the finals as a solo artist and representative of Serbia (taking 2nd place in 2004 and 3rd place in 2012) but he also took 3rd place as a author of song Lejla performed by Bosnia and Herzegovinas singer Hari Varesanovic back in 2006, as well as 6th place as a author of song Oro representeted by serbian singer Jelena Tomasevic back in 2008 and 13th place as a author of song Adio represented by montenegrin singer Knez back in 2015. Plus he won numerous minor or less known european festivals as well as a performer or as a author. You should check his song Pesma Sirena from the late 90s, that song is a breakthrough point in his career and by far (as for me personally) is one of his best.

Many artists are former contestants in Eurovision, some more than twice, for example Carola from Sweden, she participated three times and won the contest once. About the instruments, the rule about playing them live was established in 1991 if I am not mistaken. But for sure it was before the 2000. Loreen and Jhonny Logan are the only artistay that won Eurovision twice.

That year, 2004, there was no jury. They experimented with only public vote. So Ruslana was first and Željko was second, only televote. After that, they introduced the jury again.
