    BD, thanks for this vid. I'm first time trying to set up my BB. NX10 master, DX6-G3 slave. Do I need to have the model in both TX's for buddy box to work? Or, does the NX10 carry the model parameters, and the DX6 wireless connect is automatically "loaded" when it has controls? I hope I asked the question correctly.

    A quick question from a beginner: is it possible with Spektrum transmitters that the teacher flies in Mode 1 and the student flies in Mode 4 ? I'm looking into getting into the hobby but the club near my home flies in Mode 1 and i have been training on the sim in Mode 4. Mode 4 also feels more logical to me because i come from driving rc cars with the throttle on the left stick.

    • @BDTennessee
      @BDTennessee  2 роки тому

      So there is 2 ways.If student wants you to control it or student to control it.
      If you do pilot link and setup everything normal and configure safe switch,you will have the option control. If student has control too,you need to configure student radio (even on pilot link but just the switch you want to use) and enable gear or aux 1 on the trainer menu. You will notice that Gear,Flaps and Aux switches are disabled and in the opposite position of your controls. Need to toggle the one Safe is on (typically Gear or Aux 2)

    Any idea how to connect an NX6 to a DX6 as a wired trainer? The DX6 has the traditional 1/8 inch buddy box cable input jack but the NX6 does not. The NX6 has a data port, USB input, and a 1/8” headphone jack. Does the NX6 need some sort of adapter to 1/8” plug? I wanted to try a wired connection because the wireless connection sometimes dropped out for some reason when the student was in control. Could the dropout have anything to do with the DSMX rate differing on the two transmitters? I think one was 22ms and the other 11ms.

    • @BDTennessee

I changed the selected "Switch I" to "Clear" under wireless trainer and that seems to work, but want to make sure that is the proper way to disengage the wireless trainer, so the instructor transmitter gets the panic button function back for their own use while flying. You can setup buddy box on multiple planes. However a Student radio can only be bound on buddy box one at a time. (example: Model 1 is setup. Now you go to Model 2 and setup. Student is no longer bound to Model 1)
      Put yours on Pilot Link Instructor and the student on Pilot Link student with blank model. Then you will only need bind with new model.

      For thrue training, I strongly beleive Pilot Link is the way to go, but not sure what happen with trims and throttle cut. I would love to have both trim switches to be in sync, so when we advance in training, I can as instructor mess with the trim to force student to learn.
      Samething with throttle cut and timer. I did not get how to have a single timer to run for both remote. I mean, when student have control, to have instructor timer to behave as per student throttle input. Used to that on Futaba and timer get more accurate.
      About Throttle cut, I would love to have full control over throttle cut, wile student have control, to simulate DEAD STICK situation. Of course I do that on electric plane, but the SURPRISE effect remain the same and I expect Student to behave the right way
