    I've seen those before, they seem pretty handy. They would be great for limited space.
    Great video!

    I have a small space garden and this tumbling composter is great. I break everything down first then I have a 2 X 2 foot box wrapped with chicken wire to keep the critters out and helps with screening. After a few weeks it goes right on my garden and the whole cycle starts again.

    what a pain that you can't dump the compost straight in the wheelbarrow. You still have to pick it up to sift!

      That is one of the drawbacks of using the tumbler. It does do a good job of breaking down! Thanks for watching and commenting!!

    You know what I just preferred the wooden bins behind you because I’m not putting that together with all of those screws and it’s so small and I need the worms to be helping to break down so this is a no I’m only three years old so I don’t mind using a pitchfork

    Ideally you put a bucket under one of the openings as the unit is upside down, slide the door, and allow the contents to pour into the bucket. Also, leave some remaining content as it contain the proper balance of bacteria to start a new batch.

      Thanks for the advice! The tarp seemed to work fine but a bucket or container would be great! Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Looked great I’m sure you will continue using it due to the ease of operation! I’ll bet using it with the worm castings and you’ll be very happy with your produce
    They say that compost and worm castings are the best! Stay safe a d enjoy
    I too have the bins but I’m really really getting tired of turning and if I have to I’ll get bulk compost delivered and amend every year with my own! I could certainly let my bins just do their thing and not turn and in a couple yrs collect! I use and love the geobin easier for me to turn but when it’s all done whether turning or not you tend to wind up with much less once decomposed! Tumbler much quicker and I’m sure if I had to I could always get more than one and still not have to do all that turning manually! Plus combining with worm castings around each plant you have much better fertilizer than anything you buy! Plus you have the advantage of tea and if you have worms you control what they eat! Another huge plus

    How much of your compost do you add to your veg/flower bins? Half of the size of your veg bins, or less? Can you put too much with your soil? Will it burn the roots?
    I just got this tumbler and anxious to get started. Thankyou again

      I try and use ad much compost as possible!
      It is so much better than using outside soil. I know the compost is organic and I am not running the risk of bring bad soil and chemicals into my garden. It takes awhile to get to the point of all compost but it is worth it.. thanks again for watching and commenting!!!

    That's the exact one I bought recently and have been using. I didn't have a lot of leaves to put in it but I did have a lot of cardboard which I broke up into small pieces. I have Bermuda Grass all over my yard so not sure I can use that in it. Definitely don't want that growing anywhere else. Will the heat actually kill it? Thanks for the update. I'm looking forward to having compost ready to be used.

    Why do you have to screen off the compost? Can’t you use it just they way it is!?

    • @thestupidgardener4642
      @thestupidgardener4642  3 роки тому +4

      You can use it as is. Some parts of your compost may break down faster than other parts so that is was I screen it and put back the material back in the compost to continue to break down.. thanks for watching and commenting!!
