@Jaysun B If we're including all top flight goals (which we should) then Jimmy Greaves is the record holder. Not to take away from your comment though, Shearer was a beast.
Crash Wonkicoot thats why im a newcastle fan and have stayed a newcastle fan since i was kid even though now its hard bein a fan but you think about our history with Big Al and its what keeps the faith supportin the club
Him and Henry are probably the 2 best strikers to ever play in the league so no surprise he was coming out with bangers like that. That last goal was amazing though, makes you wonder how England hasnt won anything since 66 with plays like that.
@@andrewjoyce9038 I know which is why its baffling how we didnt win an international trophy. Then again when you look at other teams like Brazil and France it does make sense to some extent football was ridiculous so many top players used to gather in national teams. Number 5, Shearer and Sheringham, the SAS for England, they played really well together. I wish Newcastle could have got Sheringham to play with Shearer.
One from the best English traditional centre forward ever...if not because bad injury he suffer before 1997/98 season and 11 or 12 game goal drought before euro 96...Shearer could score at least 40++ or 50 goal for England...truly legend.
No 96 Hollandgoal ? Used to dread him playing against us (Leeds) Whether it was Newcastle, Southampton or Blackburn. He always scored, often twicw! Awesome player
Just think how many goals he would've scored if he didn't have those two longterm injuries. He'd be well out of sight in terms of goal scoring records 🙋🏻♂️
Also, his first few seasons were at Southampton before the Premier League began, if you added those goals to his total he'd have 300+ PL goals and Kane wouldn't get close.
@@BroskiRIP he'll get close but I doubt he'll catch him. As time goes on he'll likely start missing games through injury and being rested. Besides, unless Spurs become a mid-table side (assuming he stays there) it's hard to see him being a regular starter right up until the end of his career.
He doesn’t need another 5 more touches or get close to the keeper to tee up a finishing move, he just strikes the ball with power and it just drills into the spot where he wants without looking at the net. Modern strikers can’t do that on a consistent basis but Shearer could and it was second nature to him
Great goals but what about his goals against Germany in Euros 1996, 2000, I still won't forget his header against Germany in 2000, other comments mention goal against Holland in 96, I don't remember that one, I remember his goal against Tunisia in 98 World cup that was a great goal too.
@ that's not the point of the video though is it? Try as I might I cannot see anything saying "Shearer's 5 greatest goals during England's winning campaign:. Smh.
One of THE Greatest forwards in Football history, Always a pleasure to watch him
play.
Amazing
This man is probably the finest example of a text book striker, for kids who want to be strikers they should base them selves on this man.
Shearer and Sherringham, just wow... what a partnership, they played so brilliantly together, wish they could have played together for longer.
Shearer and Ferdinand were the best.
nope. shearer and sutton
Absolute thunderbolts.
He was injured for three years and was still the highest scorer in the premier league
@yortzandat very true but he stayed true to him hometown, Newcastle!
@yortzandat nope! Not at all

Very few strikers would even attempt that last goal against Portugal. Shearer was one of a kind.
Sumik Harry Kane wouldn't do, and couldn't
The unforgettable hand-raising when scoring a goal...glory times

@DEMONIC MACHINE To be fair Italy had a very strong team especially defensively. A team including Cannavaro, Pirlo, Buffon etc. is no joke.
@@ybone8709 England had Campbell Ferdinand Adams at the back, scholes, Beckham, gazza in midfield shearer Owen Fowler etc up front in the 90s

He was an absolutely perfect striker, such a shame we never really got to see what he could do in Europe.
@yortzandat I meant it's a shame we didn't see him in the champions league

3:19 beautiful assist from Batty
so it was David Batty

I would have loved to have seen Shearer and Sherringham play together at club level. Imagine how many goals those two would get together in a season!
Newcastle were in for Sheringham at one point but think he chose Manchester United
Shearer was LETHAL, probably in my eyes Englands best and most dangerous striker in history
Legend
Belgium hosted euro 2000 with Holland so that goal against Belgium was a friendly international match
England, Shearer and piledrivers. Yep, that's pretty much how I remember it.
You just described the 90's perfectly
The only time I ever saw England play live was against Portugal and I was sat behind the goal he scored in
Shearer was awesome he had a right foot like a rocket launcher
Great player legend !!
I think Shearer would have been world class in just about any position.
Shearer+Sheringham great duo from england.
That last goal, I would have made perfect contact with fresh air.
Hurts your knee when you do that doesn't it!
Takes some skill (and confidence) to hit it from that far out and first time in that kind of stage
The Belgium goal was a friendly. Still remember watching that down the pub.
You missed out his diving header against Turkey in 1992. Superb goal that was.
Amazing really. No header v Germany in Euro 2000, Scotland 1996 or the goals v Holland as well
Came here to say this. This compilation does not do him justice.
Goal scoring machine... all time Great??? YES.
Great player
The Belgium game was not a Euro 2000 qualifier, it was a friendly match.
Best English striker ever.
Awesome goals
That goal against Georgia was the first match I ever went to.
Wish this golden generation won. But the new golden gen will win something I have a strong feeling!
this generation isn't a golden gen, starting xi is much weaker that the previous decade's on paper at least
@@jos9559 we have Sancho, Nelson , Mount , Abraham, Rashford, James, and many more!

These goals prove that given a little assist by a team mate Alan Shearer would finish with a deadly accuracy and power equal to anyone.
He could just connect perfect with that ball.
*perfectly
Shearer vs Kane ,Two kings !
Great ball from batty. ALAW
In an England shirt even the mackems liked him!
Duet terbaik di inggris...

The 1999 game against Belgium wasn’t a Euros qualifier. It was a friendly.
His goal at Euro 2000 to end 34 years of hurt against Ze Germans. It made him an England legend.
Top class striker.wish he played for liverpool
Mitre delta! The football of schools

England v Holland 1996
Goal against Portugal
Was friendly
2:02 LOL
Wow
I have two spare screws with wall plugs. Wonder if Shearer wants them to put up a new trophy shelf🤣🤣
3rd place was a friendly match, not a qualification for the Euro 2000. Belgium and Netherland automatically qualified.
In any football game, Shearer would have a 99 rating for shooting
человек гол
Where can I find Gary Lineker's top ten tap-ins?
How can his 2nd goal against Holland at euro 96 not be on here?
That defender totally bottled that 1st one
