This man is probably the finest example of a text book striker, for kids who want to be strikers they should base them selves on this man.
Shearer and Sherringham, just wow... what a partnership, they played so brilliantly together, wish they could have played together for longer.

Him and Henry are probably the 2 best strikers to ever play in the league so no surprise he was coming out with bangers like that.That last goal was amazing though, makes you wonder how England hasnt won anything since 66 with plays like that.
@DEMONIC MACHINE To be fair Italy had a very strong team especially defensively. A team including Cannavaro, Pirlo, Buffon etc. is no joke.

@@andrewjoyce9038 I know which is why its baffling how we didnt win an international trophy. Then again when you look at other teams like Brazil and France it does make sense to some extent football was ridiculous so many top players used to gather in national teams. Nowadays its mostly a few decent players and 1 or 2 world class players in most national teams.

Just think how many goals he would've scored if he didn't have those two longterm injuries. He'd be well out of sight in terms of goal scoring records 🙋🏻♂️

Also, his first few seasons were at Southampton before the Premier League began, if you added those goals to his total he'd have 300+ PL goals and Kane wouldn't get close.
@@BroskiRIP he'll get close but I doubt he'll catch him. As time goes on he'll likely start missing games through injury and being rested. Besides, unless Spurs become a mid-table side (assuming he stays there) it's hard to see him being a regular starter right up until the end of his career.

One from the best English traditional centre forward ever...if not because bad injury he suffer before 1997/98 season and 11 or 12 game goal drought before euro 96...Shearer could score at least 40++ or 50 goal for England...truly legend.
Number 5, Shearer and Sheringham, the SAS for England, they played really well together. I wish Newcastle could have got Sheringham to play with Shearer.
No 96 Hollandgoal ? Used to dread him playing against us (Leeds) Whether it was Newcastle, Southampton or Blackburn. He always scored, often twicw! Awesome player

The only time I ever saw England play live was against Portugal and I was sat behind the goal he scored in

That last goal, I would have made perfect contact with fresh air.

Takes some skill (and confidence) to hit it from that far out and first time in that kind of stage
He doesn’t need another 5 more touches or get close to the keeper to tee up a finishing move, he just strikes the ball with power and it just drills into the spot where he wants without looking at the net.
Modern strikers can’t do that on a consistent basis but Shearer could and it was second nature to him
Great goals but what about his goals against Germany in Euros 1996, 2000, I still won't forget his header against Germany in 2000, other comments mention goal against Holland in 96, I don't remember that one, I remember his goal against Tunisia in 98 World cup that was a great goal too.
You missed out his diving header against Turkey in 1992. Superb goal that was.
These goals prove that given a little assist by a team mate Alan Shearer would finish with a deadly accuracy and power equal to anyone.
