Mine randomly crashes turns off then boots after 3 seconds, I have no clue what causes it. Saw some post on the internet and they said it might be the ram or psu idk. sir good day can i ask if the power supply is also the main reason why my pc's cpu still on the only thing that keeps on disconnecting is my keyboard monitor and mouse its like shutting down those three
That happens because your psu (aka the power supply) has barely enough power to transfer energy to the peripherals of your pc. So, sometimes if you overload your system it causes the peripherals to lose connection with the pc. Similarly, if your psu is failing to keep up your pc may restart out of nowhere on multiple occasions. If everything has been okay in the past then your psu might have gotten bad due to a power outage (like mine lol) or from time.. it depends

Nothing, the computer will only draw what it needs from the PSU. I usually recommend getting a PSU that's rated around 30% higher than the wattage required for your system. You don't want to push your power supply to its limits all the time.

Also, this has not happened since I replaced my hard drive with a newer one. *Any help is appreciated! Thank you!*
Doesn't seem like a software issue if you've reinstalled Windows over and over again. The OS corrupting definitely sounds like it was the HDD, especially if it hasn't happened anymore after you replaced it. The monitors turning black sounds like a GPU issue to me, but I'd run diagnosis on everything else you can find too. I'd run FurMark on the CPU and GPU while monitoring temperatures with HWMonitor and see if anything crashes or if your temps are in unsafe areas. Running memtest86 to check the memory would also be a good idea. Just for fun, you could run CrystalDiskCheck on all of your drives to see if there are any problems there.
Hi, is it possible that I am getting artifacts and blinking due to bad PSU? My PC also crashed on benchmarks like furmark, specifically the GPU benchmarks (also crashes on userbenchmark at same moment as yours). Specs: Dell T3500 with 525w stock PSU. Xeon X5675 and XFX RX580 8gb. 4gb x4 ddr3 1600mhz. HP 1080p monitor.
Usually when it's a power issue, the whole system powers off completely like mine did. It's either that or the graphics card itself. I'd check if the GPU is overheating at all. If it's not, my next guess would be the PSU. Those stock Dell power supplies aren't always the greatest, especially if it's getting old.

I threw your parts into outervision.com/power-supply-calculator and it recommends a 318W PSU (268W under load, 2 hours a day). Switching the power supply would probably be a good place to start. I'd recommend at least a 450-500W 80 Plus Bronze from a reputable brand. Here's a great forum post with highly rated units: linustechtips.com/topic/1116640-psucultists-psu-tier-list/
Sounds like it could either be the power supply or something overheating. I'd recommend running some benchmarks and checking temperatures to see if they're healthy. If temps are okay, I would guess it's the power supply.

i have very similar build ( rx580) and i get the smell and the same noise as he under intense games... the smell is horrible but my service tested this issue and told me they havent found any problem ...
I am assuming your safe, but it depends Most of the 1050 tis does not have a power connector, so the motherborads provide the with max 75 watts and the bios settings of the card will kick in and clock it down if it wants to pull more. Your i5 has 95watts tdp, but it pulls less, about 70watts ( I have the same cpu) you should look at the 12v rail onthe infos/sticker on your psu and substract 20% off it, because its a cheap psu und you should not over stress it ;) example: 12v * 20A = 240 - 48(20%) = 192 watts. In that case it would be enough to power your system
my gpu and my cpu are running at 20% usage and on amd its says im only getting 38 watts for my gpu so I'm guessing its my power supply. Can somone confirm this?
There could be a variety of things going on. I would need to know how the computer behaves under a full load with the CPU and GPU both at 100%. Or is the problem that you can't get them up to 100%?

It could be the PSU. I would double check all of your connections to the motherboard and any other components. Also, if there's any kind of diagnostic LEDs on your motherboard, see if they can give you any more information.

@@furiousxproextra8934 I think you have a good chance that a GT 1030 works in your system. But avoid the newer version with DDR4, you will want GDDR5. @@proarmy70 I'd highly suggest that you get a 500w psu atleast because almost any little parts you add into the pc will likely result in a fail especially if you want to add a gpu in which case could easily go over 100 watts
Do you think that 50 watts less than recommended is concerning? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My friend wants to get a new gaming pc. I talked to him about some components and compared them to my own components. I accidentally found out that I need 450W and not my 400W. Do you think this is concerning? System: CPU -AMD Ryzen 5 2600 GPU -GIGABYTE Radeon RX5500 XT 8GB OC MOTHERBOARD -MSI B450M PRO-VDH MAX PSU -BE QUIET System Power 9 400W

my pc does this but the fans still spin like its on or something and when i go to check event viewer it says power kernal what do i do
That definitely sounds like a faulty power supply. I'd look into getting a replacement. I use this calculator to figure out how much wattage a system will need: outervision.com/power-supply-calculator
Thought it was my gpu failing when ever I loaded into a game couldn't even play valorant, thought it was my gpu which made no sense since it was an rx 580 and never had a problem. Then I asked my brother to use his which is the same and it did it again which would make no sense. So I thought it must have been the power supply. Bought to find out later on.
How was it? Does the replacement PSU solve your issue

Mine randomly crashes turns off then boots after 3 seconds, I have no clue what causes it. Saw some post on the internet and they said it might be the ram or psu idk. I had this for almost a year now and it was fine until now. It suddenly crashes/freezes/hang then turns off and boot right after 3-5 seconds. It does this even when I'm just casually browsing the internet, no heavy task invovled. I could play games on it sometimes and It never crashes sometimes it crashes while I'm also playing. Checked the temps of my gpu and cpu and they're all under 70, around 65-ish C so I think that's fine. Really don't know why it suddenly became like this. Any suggestions? I would really appreciate the help.
Do you get any kind of blue-screen or does it just completely power off similar to the video? Check your VRM temperatures, too.

Mine turns off but all the fans are still on any idea? Its like the pc is on but not getting any video signal

*PROBLEM*
My monitors will occasionally turn black for about 10 seconds, then slowly load everything back in. If I was in a game while this was happening, the game crashes with no error message. This seems to happen much more often on games with EasyAntiCheat. I am not overclocked. This also creates issues in certain games I play (Rust) where the game will crash with no error message appearing, and Steam will not show anything, it will be blank on every page until I clear my download cache.
*POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS ALREADY ATTEMPTED*
I have already reinstalled Steam, and some other applications as well as uninstalled some. I am running a lot of my applications on my SSD because it is faster.
*MORE STUFF THAT DIDN'T FIT IN OTHER CATEGORIES*
About 5 or so times, I will go to bed and my computer will auto-update. Every now and then when it does this, it will completely corrupt the OS and I have to reinstall. This is not that much of an issue to me because I do not have a lot of important things, but reinstalling Windows 10 also does not seem to help with the issues above, and I thought that was worth mentioning.
Its psu.. ITS ALWAYS FCKING PSU i had same issue but my screen went black then start flickering some random colors then pc restarts
Try updating your gpu drivers
Turn off windows update it always fuck everything
Hi, is it possible that I am getting artifacts and blinking due to bad PSU? My PC also crashed on benchmarks like furmark, specifically the GPU benchmarks (also crashes on userbenchmark at same moment as yours).
Specs:
Dell T3500 with 525w stock PSU.
