Wow! I've been getting every single one of those issues! (you can only imagine my frustration) I'm taking it to a repair and see what they can do ASAP, thanks for the video, I was lost and unsure about what to do but this video was exactly what I needed! I'm 100% subscribing!
So glad I could help! Troubleshooting PC issues can be extremely annoying. Hopefully the repair tech will be able to fix your machine and if you don't mind, come back by and let us know what the issue was!
I think this is happening to me as well. Several of the more intense games I play crash randomly. Downloads cause my pc to crash randomly. Sometimes it just crashes while watching youtube. Totally random and I couldn't understand why.
mine was failing for nearly a year, every now and again it would crash, fans would spin but wouldnt boot up. never suspected the psu was the problem (because the fans would spin, i would expect no power at all, plus it worked fine a lot of the time) but boy were they spot on with the warranty, just a bit over the 5 years covered and it failed.
@@kelvs45 @kursty k same thing happened with me.. it was a power supply for me. thanks for sharing so similar story. my rams, hdd, graphics card started to showing bad condition i thought my gpu is dying 😂 but it was power supply.
@@kelvs45 I'm having the same issues. The displays randomly turns off and the PC keeps on working. Sometimes, it gives 3 beeps, that's suggesting a memory issue, but after reading your comment I'm thinking it's the power supply messing with the other hardware components by not providing accurate and clean power.
My old PC has this issue for several months now. It randomly freezes. Screen just hangs with colored splashing lines (sometimes with constant buzz sound) and then goes black. CPU keeps running though. Had to hold the power button to switch off and then restart. Soon after restart it happens again and again. If I leave it for a day without switching it on then everything works again fine. This whole thing happens very frequently & couldn't figure out what the issue is? Hardware or software? Event viewer says "Kernel Power Event ID 41 (63)". Please help!
@@dotagamer5925 No, I changed with the new PSU, and it did not solve the issue. 1. Changed with the New Hard drive. ❌ 2. Adding more case cooling fans. ❌ 3. Changed CPU Cooler. ❌ 4. Wanted to add one more symptom that happened to me, spent 2 months and nearly $2k trying to figure it out. Computer would randomly restart, now what I mean by that, is that the PC acts as if you walked up to it and just shut it off using the main switch on the psu on the back. It would happen regardless of what the computer was doing or whatever load it was under, just random. Ended up after changing things out and swapping everything and consulting a lot of IT guys that I knew, the power supply that I had (both Platinum rated and expensive) was just bad after 2-3 years. It happens. Problem free now.
Another cause of that sort of behavior could be leaking capacitors on the motherboard. You can visually examine them and if you see corrosion on top, that's pretty much the end of the board unless you can do surface mount repair for multilayer boards.
bro can you give us an update? I have the same dilemma Edit: It turns out, mine was because of psu failure. I have 2 pc and use the psu of the other one to test.
Another reason I found.. is that you also need to change the cables along with the psu. Would not work with another modular psu and the same existing cables.
This needs to be upvoted more. I just posted a comment regarding a PSU problem I had... EVERY IT guy I spoke to said the same thing, do not just replace the PSU with a new one, DO NOT be lazy, replace the wires as well.
My 600W PSU just died today.. it started off earlier this week when I was playing the game … out of no where my fans went 100% and the monitor display turned off. Then it happened again when I did a little bang on the desk. I ended up smelling the burning smell when I tried to fix my LED lights in the front of my case, I plugged it in & I heard a pop, it had shut off. I unplugged the led lights & turned the PC on, it was a delay and when it came on i smelled a burning smell so I instantly shut off the power switch then unplugged the cable. I smelled around my PC just to make sure it wasn’t the MB because that was my first thought. I confirmed by unplugging the cord & going to another socket & trying to turn my PC on and it was a few seconds late coming on, it came on then shut off came on again & that’s when i decided it was my PSU. Lucky it didn’t take out my 2070S & i7 9700k along with the ram
Here's a thought that will help you understand how little most people understand electronics, including me. I keep hearing the name "power supply" being thrown about and how it might have gone bad. I kinda thought the "power supply" was that lil' ol' wall socket that we plug our computer into. It's supplying the power, isn't it? It turns out my "power supply" had actually gone bad and a smart friend of mine picked one up at Best Buy for $35 and installed it. I still don't know what it does, but I was happy to just keep pulling Hamiltons out of my wallet to drop into his lap as payment for the "thing" and his services. Maybe you should have started this video with an explanation of what a power supply is and what it does and why we shouldn't eat it for breakfast.
Power supply unit (PSU) takes power from the wall (220V or 110V and turns it into power that PC components can use (12V and less). But a 35$ PSU from Best Buy is not gonna be the best option. A PSU that cheap can't be good quality
Thanks for this I'm new to pc and I'm pretty sure my psu is the culprit. My specs are as follows HP OMEN - 30L Gaming Desktop - AMD Ryzen 7-Series - 3700X - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 - 1TB HDD + 256GB SSD - PSU HP Cooler Master 500W 80 plus bronze. I'm positive it's my pus because it won't even turn on and I was having complete shutdowns. What would cause a brand new psu to fail? Is 500w not enough for the GPU and The processor?
The power requirements for your build can be found by checking the vendor's specifications for each component and then adding up the total wattage needed, however this total is the bare minimum for the PSU. I try to go with 25% more wattage that the minimum to ensure that the system is powered correctly. The second part of that question is can a brand new PSU failing and that is a possibility. Make sure that you check the main 24 pin power connector to the motherboard and do not confuse the 8 pin PCIe power connectors with the ATX/EPS 8 pin CPU connector. If you have integrated video (built into the motherboard) then you can remove the graphics card and configure the BIOS/UEFI to use the motherboard's integrated graphics. If you computer boots then the problem could be with either the power to the graphics card or card itself.
I had the exact same PC and the exact same issues. I foolishly bought a refurbished open box thinking I got a good deal. Luckily I was able to return it for a new and better pc. Lesson learned, buy new electronics or you end up paying the same price as the new one once you have replaced all the faulty parts. Sometimes you even pay more than the new one to fix all the problems of a refurbished pc.
Good information for end users. The first about 8 minutes he says be sure to plug it in and turn it on. The rest of the time, he's telling you to use a tester. They aren't perfect but you will get a basic idea of output from them. I was hoping to learn something about how many milliseconds a given power supply can stay on if the power is dropped. For example, would 30 milliseconds cause a failure.
PSU errors can also cause BIOS issued where the BIOS won't boot and it the gives you the choice to set the default settings. This is due to a bad OC or a slight change in volts for RAM, OCs or non OCs but just getting say ram speed to be stable at a certain speed. I have a OCZ fatality 750w Mod it's 10 years old it was in a 2600k rig from then, now it's powering. Ryzen 3600, RX 580 8GB im not having power issues but I am considering in buying a new one as it would modern new tech and better technology. Don't know which brand though
I had that issue for the 1st time yesterday, I somehow suspected that it was my PSU but still wasn't sure. PSUs can really be tricky, that day I did CPU, GPU stress test and everything worked just fine, I even did Ram check and nothing. I also noticed for a couple of months before this happened that my startup to windows was way slower, only in the morning after it was shut of a long time. I guess it's better if I change it now so I won't get any problems later. thanks!
My PC resets the bios when I click the power switch. I replaced the battery but still it happens. Sometimes even though it says the bios is reset, nothing is actually in reset state. I noticed that when I click the power button, it gets power for like half a second and turns off, then turns itself back on and it tries to enter post several times [Like memory training] then it goes into bios with reset Status. im wondering if this is a PSU issue.
Charles here an active members of ITProTV currently watching the MS-900 Series. When I was 13 I was getting into computers, never had the internet and my computer one day wouldnt power up. I ripped my Windows 98 machine apart trying to find out what was wrong (i had no idea what I was doing) turned out it was the fuse in the plug that had blown...my Mum wasnt happy with me.
So guys I'm facing this problem from last two months , what happening is that when ever I play games on my pc , my pc shows no bsod or never restarts but when ever I do normal work on my pc it starts getting bsod with error "whea uncorrectable error" And sometimes screen goes black for 5 sec and then restarts and again and again and this is happening when I'm watching videos on yt or just using browser normally on pc not while playing games and I checked my rams 1 by 1 and hdd and CPU cooler and etc just mb and smps left but I have more doubt on smps ...
Whenever I play a high intensity game after about 20-40 minutes my PC shuts off and my case fans speed up, my GPU and CPU are both average temperatures so I think my power supply has been overheating. How do I know if the psu fan is working properly, or if there is something wrong with it?
Same, except my pc reboots on games even though cpu/gpu temperatures are fine. My computer isn't as loud as it used to be though, so I suspect the PSU fan isn't spinning when it's supposed to cool the PSU so it's overheating, or not enough power to feed all the computer components. I can browse the internet all day without issues however, it just happens on graphically intensive games like ffxiv (even at lowest settings)
I need help my power went off in my house and my pc turned off and then on and then off again but after that nothing turned on is it the power supply that got fried?
Bought used Corsair 550w and when I start pc my CPU cooler led is flashing. When I put old pcie gpu it runs but when I tried with gf 710 it starts for 1 second and turns off. Was thinking it's pcie slot but read somewhere that flashing CPU cooler led might be a sign of an unstable PSU. Do you have any ideas? I don't have any other PSU to check :/
You will need to test the PSU to verify that this is not the issue, I suspect it is not as you can power the old card, which means that the system is most likely being underpowered. If this is the situation you might need a PSU with greater wattage. However, another possibility is that the new card is bad, shorting out or overheating and needs to be replaced. You can get a Thermaltake Universal ATX PSU tester for fairly cheap and test all the connectors on the PSU. See here: www.cdw.com/product/thermaltake-dr.-power-ii-atx-power-supply-tester/2546935?pfm=srh
For me my monitor turns off saying "Cable not connected" when opening high demanding games such as Rust etc. And i've controllered every cable is connected properly. Any ideas what it might be?
same here, when I try to play my PC freezes and monitor turns off but I can still hear sounds from the game. Have you fixed it? Is it the PSU that is causing it?

There’s lights in the case but the PC doesn’t turn on. Occasionally it does after turning the power switch off and on again a dozen times or so and when it’s on I can use it just fine but when I try to boot it up another time, it just won’t work.
Is this a power supply problem my pc turns on and a light on the motherboard lights up but that's it no fans or anything else is working but the light still shows it's on
Hi Ryan, this could be a PSU issue, memory improperly seated, or main power connector not seated correctly. The best way to tell is to find out if there is any POST beep codes, on screen POST errors. You could also get an ATX Universal PSU tester to confirm that the PSU connectors are giving the right voltages.
My newly bought seasonic 850w stopped working after i turned off my newly built PC and Switch PSU off. I switched it back on and try to turn my PC on but it didn’t work. After many tries, I suspected PSU failed and i was right. I just don’t understand why it failed at a flip of a switch. Please share your thoughts.
I had a similar issue with my couple months old psu . I removed the gpu and it would turn on fans and eveything but no display added a gpu and same issue
Brand new sealed pack RMA PSU CORSAIR shows 8 volt in 12 volt line in bios. I got it RMA because of the same problem in old PSU. Attached new PSU. First 4 minutes shows 11 volt. Then black screen. Again checked this new one is also showing 8 volt in red colour on a 12 volt line. Is it because of faulty mother board 🤔 please help 🙏 or my gpu is crushing every other components 😢 i have suspicion on motherboard on rank 1, gpu on rank 2, and rams on rank 3. I think my psu may be underpowered since I got a new graphics card... one of the symptoms is just that... pressing the power button sometimes does nothing! But not always, I find it has more problems when the weather is hot. So I ordered a new psu, should be here soon.
I just upgraded an Optiplex 9020, and replaced the old 290W PSU with a modern 650W unit... yes, I used a 24 to 8 pin adapter... but after I had everything assembled (RAM, SSD, GPU) and turned on the PSU switch, literally nothing happened. It was as if I hadn't even plugged it in (yes, of course I had). I checked all my connections, and everything seemed in order. I even swapped out the adaptor (I'd bought two, just in case)... still nothing. I'm stumped. 😒😒😒
I have a computer which is going through power cycling (Turns on for 2 seconds and shuts off and it goes on in a loop) and after connecting one by one everything and checking I found out that my 8 PIN power cable to motherboard from PSU is causing that issue, I am not sure now if it's my faulty PSU or is it the faulty motherboard. Only happening when I connect that 8 PIN power cable to motherboard. Any idea on how to figure out which is faulty?
I have a relatively new Legion 5 (2021) gaming laptop with a 300W charger brick always plugged in. The other day I was installing a game on my SSD and also playing a movie when my laptop suddenly became unresponsive first for a few seconds before eventually getting restarted on its own. Upon restart, there were two critical kernel power event ids 41 and 142 which are usually related to the PSU. Since then, I have disabled fast boot and ran OCCT stability test twice for 1 hr each without any errors. Does that pass the PSU of my laptop?
Recently my psu has just turned off randomly but now it isn’t even turning on (aside from my RAM’s RGB which apparently is the only sign of power in my pc) Would this be a result of the supply or do I have an issue much more complicated then that
Replace PSU first, if that doesn't do it, board is gone. Luckily, a lot of sales going on right now, may even find your EXACT board on the major sites. Remember, when you change the PSU, replace EVERY wire as well with the new ones... this comes from saaaad experience.
my psu pulses at times but does not turn on. MB, GPU, fan lights pulse once but that's it. If i leave it for a while or switch off the PSU at the back and leave for a while it starts up perfectly fine. PSU is only 1.5yrs old. Once or twice it shut down during gameplay. Once i had BSOD (running after windows update - not sure if that was the culprit.) I've removed 2 RAMS after the first few time it happened, ran fine for a while then started with the pulsing again. any advice please?
This is an HP desktop I5. After I accidently hit sleep mode it won't power on. Fans work, mother board light on, hard drives spin up, dvd lights and opens. Won't boot. Press power button and the hard drive light goes right out. I tried it 30 times and it booted once. I disconnected and eliminated all devices. Could it be a week power supply? I even tried powering off the bios battery. Tried different monitor keyboard and mouse

Hello! My computer is acting very weird, it BSODs like in a few minutes when im not actively using it or something is actively ongoing on it and windows can do random crashes sometimes, like if i go to the bathroom and when i come back i see BSOD evry time, but like i can game for hours and usually it dosent BSOD or crash, it can happen but its rare, and also some of my pretty new fans are spinning weird/slower and i hear buzzing or whining noises from my PSU, my PSU is very old its almost 9.5 years now. I can also prevent BSODs it from happening if i use an auto clicker and then it can usually be on nonstop for days. I have had this problem come up sometimes and go away for a few years now. Is it my PSU that is failing??

Hi, I just bought an Aorus 850w PSU. I tested it out of the box no load. My issue is that power good signal is 70ms & 80ms. What does this mean? Should I send it back as faulty??
So my computer has a problem i hit the power button all my fans turn on and what not no problem then like 10 seconds later it turns off for 2 seconds and then back up and it just cycles that. Could this be power supply?
What about just simply browsing doing small tasks then the screen goes black no signal, keyboard and mouse also go black and it won't wake up but PC is still on?

Hello, thank you for the video it is quite helpful. Perhaps you can help me. I've been having some issues recently that my pc is suddenly turning off. I think my psu is failing. My system would run fine I can game for hours on end then after gaming it would just shut down. I would wait a few seconds and it would boot up like normal. But now it boots up I log in and then it shuts down again. My HWinfo Saya my CPU and GPU were not over heating at the time of the shut down but I do get a critical kernal power error 41. Do you think it could be my psu or MB. Mind you that I've already did a clean install of windows 10 and the issues I thought was gone but 2 days later it shut off while it was idle.
My PC when powered on has all fans just blaring but it won't POST. Even breadboxing it the first time it won't POST but I think the second time it POSTED. Put it all back in the case and it was on for about 20 hours, even played some demanding games then later that night was watching a UA-cam vid and it powered off into a restart, only the fans were blaring and no POST yet again. I've changed to a new mobo, new ram, changed to a weaker GPU I know works and still nothing....so it's the PSU right? Before all this happened I'd power on and it would get to the 'loading Windows' spinny wheel thing then restart, then it would boot normally. Did this for about 2 days before I started swapping out stuff. I don't have the money right now though =( and no friends to borrow their working PSU from =/

My power supply turns off randomly. If I unplug the power supply, wait a few minutes and plug it back in it turns back on for a little while. What could be the problem?
This show reminds me so much of the old TechTV show ScreenSavers. If someone is still using a power supply that has the voltage selector on the back I say it's time for them to just upgrade their PSU. I can't remember the last time I've seen those types of power supplies.
I'm not sure if it's my psu but whenever I play triple a games it runs perfectly for like 10 mins then my pc shuts off. But this doesn't happen when I play games that don't contain triple a graphics. I definitely know it isn't my cpu (ryzen 3 3200g) or my gpu (RTX 2060) so I am assuming it has to be the psu since when my pc randomly turns off my LED on the power button flickers...

I just got a (refurbished) pc and it was working fine until I run a high you intensive game it runs great for about ~10 minutes and then crashes sometimes going straight to a black screen and sometimes showing artifacts before going to a black screen but the gpu fans always go full rpm and then the pc immediately reboots I already re applied thermal paste on the gpu and it made no difference but even then the gpu always stays under 80 degrees c. Does anyone know what it could be I was suspecting it was the gpu but as I’m watching the video It sounds like it can also be the psu? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

For some reason, whenever I plug in my pc to any outlet or surge protector; the circuit breaker would trip. Why? Could that be a symptom of a bad psu. And yes I did check on the outlet and breaker. I also tried a different outlet in a different room and I still had the same problem.

I bought a new desktop about 4 months ago and while I was playing A game I started to smell a burning wire smell coming from it does this have anything to do with psu?
The burning smell is usually due to power, however it does not necessarily mean a PSU issue. When inspecting the motherboard you will notice a series of chips near the CPU, called the MOSFET (metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor) these make up the VRMs (voltage regulator modules) that controls the voltages to the components on and connected to the motherboard (CPU, graphics card). This could be the issue. Your graphics card might be something to check. Do a visual inspection of the system unit for damage to these components, look for swelling capacitors on the motherboard, including all connections from the PSU for signs of damage as a lot of times when you smell the burning, you can also see where it happened. USE CAUTION, always disconnect all power connections BEFORE doing any inspection of the system unit.
@@ACILearning I decided to turn the computer on to see if the smell came up again and everything seemed fine. I played a few games that put a load on the gpu and everything was fine..could something have overheated or broke?

Currently dealing with the same thing. I have an A8-7680 CPU and RX-560 (no pin version) GPU that i just bought. I have an old 700 watt PSU (prolly 10 years old) and when I installed the new GPU mentioned, when playing a game, my MOBO overheats and at first, there's a plastic burning smell coming out of my CPU specially around the PSU and then my PC shuts off while the LED lights of every components still on. I'm guessing the old PSU is the culprit so I ordered a brand new CPU and will be delivered anytime today.

My computer dies every 2 mins while gaming. I checked and my powesupply fan emits a burning smell but when I checked, my graphics card’s fan is not working. I checked and its temp was 85-88 degrees while not doing anything/gaming. Im confused if the powersupply is the problem or my gpu
Good morning sir! My cpu is not starting when I press the power button, fans are not running but stand by led is glowing in mother board, what is the problem?
My computer is restarting whenever there is a power fluctuation .... Although the UPS is working fine !!!!!!! How do I know that something's wrong with my PSU ????
My problem is that my pc restarts ONLY WHEN I PLAY GAMES nothing else just when i play games like my motherboard blinks and it just sends me to the sign in screen and i have a 850 and i heard thats overkill do i need a new psu?
My box is about 2 months old. I had it running in my house until about 2 weeks ago. Then I moved it to my studio and it wouldn't start. PSU stopped working. Could be because I plugged it into a power conditioner that was plugged into a 220v socket. I'm expat in Brasil, so I learned that lesson. The plug doesn't fit the 110v sockets and fits the 220v, but it's actually 127v. Burnt a few things... anyway, I replaced the PSU and the computer would not boot. A few days of tinkering and I took it to a shop. They said PSU is bad. Weird because its 3 days old. Returned that new PSU and was given another in its place. Plugged it in last night and pc starts right up and everything works fine. Shut down for the night, returned this morning amd computer doesn't start. No fan spinning at all. There's a blue power light on the motherboard but the red light doesn't light up when I hit the power button. I'm guessing the new PSU is bad too. Both were the same brand. In all my years running music studios and building computers I have never experienced that with PSUs. So, I will go buy a different brand from a different store and see what happens. My anxiety will be off the charts every day walking in and not knowing if the computer won't start. Hopefully I can get this resolved.
My sons PC just died, he told me its been having issues booting up and him having to keep pressing the power button and it would eventually startup. This time it would start up and he just heard a pop noise and smelled burned... Hopefully, nothing major happened.
If the PSU is failing you might get the following symptoms: reboots, reboots specifically to resource intensive applications being launched and or BSODs. Now in fairness to your poor old PSU this could be a direct result of failing memory or storage device. Check Event Viewer and more specifically the System Logs for any Warning, Error or Critical level events.

Hello i got a problem with gaming pc, after i play some heavy games, that use gpu and cpu capacity more, after some time it gets frozen and blue screen of death appears. Temperature is normal, i bought new coolers long ago and this problem never appeared again until now. So after the blue screen of death, it is searching for problem and process is always stuck on 0%, than i restart it and it keeps getting into the bios all the time until i power off my pc. PSU is old about 2-3 years.
i’m so glad this is the case because mine just went out. i tried to turn it on one day and it wouldn’t boot up so i was thinking there was a huge problem with it but i just need to replace my psu.
On my PC, when I plug anything to the USB Type C connector, it immediately turns off. Can someone help me figure what the issue may be. I've never been able to use that por since I bough the motherboard because of it.
Idk if you'll see this but I thought my mobo was dead since water got into the system (unknowingly to me) and I pressed the button and the entrie system/RGB fans etc would light up for half a second and turn off. Is this PSU?
While I cannot be positive as I cannot see the mobo, but from your description is does seem very likely that you have a short somewhere. You can look for visual signs of damage by checking for dark/burnt spots on the capacitors or on the bottom of the motherboard (providing they do not coat it with a dielectric layer) for burnt traces. However word of caution - disconnect ALL power connections, power drain the PSU, by holding the power button after a shutdown for 10 seconds and take the necessary ESD prevention techniques to avoid personal injury and additional component damage.
@@ACILearning turns out the CPU was acting weird since I bought a new mobo and got the same problem, and the PSU worked just fine on my friend's pc. I took the CPU out the socket for a day saying that it was dead, then the next day I put it back in the new mobo socket, fired it up and it booted just fine. I then tried the old mobo and it worked fine too. Weird

PC will hang and crash while gaming or shortly after a session of gaming. It seems to be with a very intensive title such as Witcher 3 or Baldur's Gate 3. It does record the error which is a volmgr event followed by a Kernel 41 critical event. The system is a RTX 2060 Super with an AMD Ryzen 5700G a SoundBlaster AE-5 with an SSD boot drive and an HDD Data drive for my games. It's powered by a 650watt Gold rating supply a full modular one. The system is only about a year old as I built it last December. Sometimes the PC will boot without recognizing my keyboard. Unplugging and plugging it back in seems to solve that issue. But the other issue could possibly be the main board, but I would think that if it was that it would do it at any time not just when I am gaming.
I believe so and I have a ssd. My pc randomly shut off while playing fallout 4 and I had to taken a bathroom break. I came back and saw a screen telling me it cannot find my os and ssd. I restart and everything was fine, except it did it again later that day. This time my ssd was fine and started windows normally. I since switched my psu and will see if that's the culprit.

Sometimes it just crashes while watching youtube.
Totally random and I couldn't understand why.
mine was failing for nearly a year, every now and again it would crash, fans would spin but wouldnt boot up. never suspected the psu was the problem (because the fans would spin, i would expect no power at all, plus it worked fine a lot of the time)
but boy were they spot on with the warranty, just a bit over the 5 years covered and it failed.

My Pc just turns off suddenly and then restarts again. And it's as frequent 1-5 minutes interval between each random shut down.
found the reason???? bad psu??
i'm having this same issue as of late, did you get it sorted out?
were you able to fix this? My compter does something similar but not always as frequent.
bro can you give us an update? I have the same dilemma
Edit: It turns out, mine was because of psu failure. I have 2 pc and use the psu of the other one to test.
yea man mine too restarts on its own in like every 1 hour
Just happened to me did anything else in your system get harmed? And did a new version of the same wattage power supply fix it?

Did your house electricity go out as well? mine did. I only just got my PSU and my pc fixed and it only now just blew up!

Hi sir. Will PSU also cause to make blackscreen to my monitor and pop up no signal but my cpu still running?
i have the same problem, did you even find out?
Its the ram card😪
Whenever I play a high intensity game after about 20-40 minutes my PC shuts off and my case fans speed up, my GPU and CPU are both average temperatures so I think my power supply has been overheating. How do I know if the psu fan is working properly, or if there is something wrong with it?
Bro same my PC does that in 1-1.5 hrs
Same, except my pc reboots on games even though cpu/gpu temperatures are fine. My computer isn't as loud as it used to be though, so I suspect the PSU fan isn't spinning when it's supposed to cool the PSU so it's overheating, or not enough power to feed all the computer components. I can browse the internet all day without issues however, it just happens on graphically intensive games like ffxiv (even at lowest settings)

Fans are clean, termal paste is fresh, temps are within normal ranges, but something that happen when the pc turns off, it is also turning off the regulator or eternal PSU that is connected to the wall, I changed it and it happens again. This issue persist when I am playing videogames. PC on idle could be working and never turns off. CPU nd GPU stress tests also has been performed and nothing happen. Any sugestions are very welcome. Thanks.
It maybe overheat
I'm having the same problem at the moment, I thought mine was maybe overheating so I ordered a cpu liquid cooler to see if this would fix the problem cause I had a AMD stock fan
ive recently encountered that when i try to turn on my work station, my power supply fan does one rotation like its trying to start, but stops. could this be anything else other than a bad psu?
I have checked ram and gpu n no overheating in cpu but anytime it goes and loads any heavy graphics game reboot
i built my first pc and i was having trouble because i lunched up a game and my pc turned off, i had to manually rest it through the button because the pc was still on but nothing was showing on screen, i tried to open the game again and same thing happened again. and when i tried for the last time my pc will not even turn on at all. im not sure why but when i unplugged the separate power cables from my gpu, it then turned on. anyone know why? i got a new psu and i still had the same problem, the gpu was used and it was a evga 980ti 6gb. help please
Did you fix it?
I don't have the money right now though =( and no friends to borrow their working PSU from =/
Every time I tapped the power supply the screens would turn off (pc would stay on) and mess up my graphics drivers and I would have to reinstall them. Does anyone know why every time I tapped it that would happen? I would really appreciate the help :)
is this a tv show or just yt channel video????,
My power supply turns off randomly. If I unplug the power supply, wait a few minutes and plug it back in it turns back on for a little while. What could be the problem?
buy new one
This show reminds me so much of the old TechTV show ScreenSavers.
If someone is still using a power supply that has the voltage selector on the back I say it's time for them to just upgrade their PSU. I can't remember the last time I've seen those types of power supplies.
I'm not sure if it's my psu but whenever I play triple a games it runs perfectly for like 10 mins then my pc shuts off. But this doesn't happen when I play games that don't contain triple a graphics. I definitely know it isn't my cpu (ryzen 3 3200g)
or my gpu (RTX 2060) so I am assuming it has to be the psu since when my pc randomly turns off my LED on the power button flickers...
Have you fixed it? Same happens to me. It works on lower graphics but now I always have BSOD even on safe mode.
My psu Thermaltake 350 keeps making a buzzing noise when pc is turned on I have to shutdown my pc completely for the noise to go away how do I fix this problem
Hey my power supply’s fan has stopped spinning entirely. Has the on off switch on the back. It’s on, but never spins anymore.
Also the led was colored separately. Ever since it’s all synced to the same color. I can’t change the color independently.
Can a pc draw power when i switch my psu off? My pc flashed a blue light when my psu was switched off is that normal? Or is my psu damaged? Oh my monitor power cord was connected to a power source idk if thats related to it.
Great video guys thank you!
Currently have a 2060 gpu in my build. Just got a 3060 ti but when installed there is no display to monitor but fans aware spinning and everything else in pc works fine just no display on monitor. Put back my 2060 and everything works perfect. Should I look to a new psu or do I have a faulty 3060? Don’t have any other gpu or psu to test out
You could check the voltages being supplied by the 6/8 pin PCIe PSU rail. Here is a great checklist that help with "Boot Issues" and " No video output" troubleshooting from Tom's Hardware : forums.tomshardware.com/threads/no-post-system-wont-boot-and-no-video-output-troubleshooting-checklist.1285536/
Iv'e replaced the power supply in mine TWICE in the last year now-- what gives??? How and where do I get a GOOD one??
My pc stopped working due to a power outage and it won’t turn on but every 30 seconds my fans spin and the lights turn on for like 1 second do you think my psu has to do with this
For some reason, whenever I plug in my pc to any outlet or surge protector; the circuit breaker would trip. Why? Could that be a symptom of a bad psu. And yes I did check on the outlet and breaker. I also tried a different outlet in a different room and I still had the same problem.
Hey man I’m having the same issue right now, did you ever find an answer or solution?
I need help my pc turns off when I play any big game and the fans go crazy my pc is clean and my parts are not overheating do you guys think it’s the power supply
Thanks
My graphics card is not being powered to its fullest, how do I fix it?
my monitor randomly goes black and comes back on every 2 or 3 seconds, I have changed monitors and cables but it still does it?
im having hanging programs and sometimes when i turn on my computer the fan runs and then it shuts off i turn it on again and it shuts off it shut off 3 x and its still hanging for example opening an image takes 3 minutes and i have 32gb mem 4.0 processor 970 nividea graphics 1tb ssd windows pro no way it takes 3 min to open an image i uninstalled most programs updated drivers scanned for viruses cleaned diskdrives i mean every trouble shooting there is and i cant fix im crying right now please help
I have got the error 90b couple of times when my psu was making a weird noise but every fan was spinning normally and I didn’t notice any heat increases on other components. Can my psu just overheat without any symptons and damage my other components.
(I have a low end pc with non-power demanding parts)
yes
My PC started off as just an i7-8700 with 8gb ram and a psu and everything else, but I added a gpu 1660s, swapped the ram so now i have 16gb (2x8 ddr4), but its recently started to just completely shut off out of the blue and turn back on. I think it is because of a faulty psu, but I don't really have much experience with pc's so I was just wondering if anyone could give me a second opinion, thanks so much in advance!
Did it solve the problem? I have the same problem. Sometimes the computer shuts down and immediately restarts.
my pc was working fine yesterday in the morning it didnt turn on also when i plug my phone in my pc for testing i get electric shocks what does this mean pls help 😭😭😭
Did u fix it ?
My computer is restarting whenever there is a power fluctuation .... Although the UPS is working fine !!!!!!!
How do I know that something's wrong with my PSU ????
same problem with me too.. is it because PSU failure?
My problem is that my pc restarts ONLY WHEN I PLAY GAMES nothing else just when i play games like my motherboard blinks and it just sends me to the sign in screen and i have a 850 and i heard thats overkill do i need a new psu?
maybe your front power and HD conectors are in different slots? *worth a try*
Did you fix the issue?
Update - it was the power supply. Switched to a different brand and all is well.
My sons PC just died, he told me its been having issues booting up and him having to keep pressing the power button and it would eventually startup. This time it would start up and he just heard a pop noise and smelled burned... Hopefully, nothing major happened.
I got some problems which is black screen and my pc turn on and off within 20-30 secs repeatedly. Anyone solution for this one? 😭
bro i do too😭
Probably faulty psu
If the PSU is failing you might get the following symptoms: reboots, reboots specifically to resource intensive applications being launched and or BSODs. Now in fairness to your poor old PSU this could be a direct result of failing memory or storage device. Check Event Viewer and more specifically the System Logs for any Warning, Error or Critical level events.
Hello if you still check comments, i need help if you want to.
I turn on my pc, everything is on i think. Fans are running, all my led lights are on and then it says hdmi no connection. ALSO my mouse does not turn on when connected on boot up, thats another problem. Thats why i am wondering if its power supply problem. Everything is plugged, hdmi, power cable, hdmi, all that. Also my pc restarts randomly when use. Now it doesnt work fully because my hdmi isnt working. PLS HELP
Since the mouse doesnt turn on i am trying to see its a power supply problem
Maybe someone can help. When I game the display turns off and gpu stops spinning but everything in my case stays on. Could this be a psu problem or gpu? Shit is annoying 😒
Waiting for your videos
Thanks for following along with the series!
what about the paper clip test?
Hello , I want to ask .. how about if the power supply is injected to the outlet then I tried to open it but it will open for a seconds then it will stop but there is green light on the mother board? by the way my power supply is delta dps-350ab-13 , they say its too old ps model. I hope someone help me. Thanks a lot.
why is my cpu has beep noise and no picture. can not turn on . can not detect keyboard. the fan is running
Did you fix it?
i’m so glad this is the case because mine just went out. i tried to turn it on one day and it wouldn’t boot up so i was thinking there was a huge problem with it but i just need to replace my psu.
Did it work? mine just shuts down in 0.1 seconds..
You guys just saved me hundreds of dollars holy shit
how to spot new one from older one even if its modular and black from outside
Weird
My pc restarting only when I start up a game is that the power supply ?
i need help
my pc have problem
whenever i run it automatically shutdown and doesnt run
and sometimes it runs without this problem
and sometimes this error starts whenever my electricity goes down
I MEAN Directly shtdown without properly
whenever it shutdown automatically it shows blue screen
if its psu issue
plz tell me
PC will hang and crash while gaming or shortly after a session of gaming.
Does a failing PSU cause an HDD malfunction as well?
i think it dose had similar issues hdd, rams, get disconnected stopped showing on screen. black screen for graphic card not getting enough power.
It's possible
I believe so and I have a ssd. My pc randomly shut off while playing fallout 4 and I had to taken a bathroom break. I came back and saw a screen telling me it cannot find my os and ssd. I restart and everything was fine, except it did it again later that day. This time my ssd was fine and started windows normally. I since switched my psu and will see if that's the culprit.
I'm on my 3rd PSU replacement. Both Corsair AX series...My first PSU died because i was an idiot oiling the psu fan, the oil leaked out and shorted something. My 2nd PSU which im currently using while making this message.. I swear down i've only had it for a little over a year.. Some idiot girl tenant i live with keeps chipping the power breaker with a faulty toaster...Now about to be on my 3rd..
my PowerSupply is 1month old but it started to randomly off my pc i wonder it is because for the last month i play ARK SURVIVAL and my PC basically a basic pc med ranges now i can't even play a basic game it will off ,
Nice explanation
