I think I have never been more happy or more confident in where the university of Oklahoma is heading. I wanted to get back to a in your face defense,BLEEDING intensity, brotherhood! Let’s goooo!!!!! I can see us going on a 10+ win, but it’s all about what we are doing about it now, practicing hard being competitive challenging each other and being the best we can be day in day out.
We have a valuable depth now, on defense!!!it’s different we haven’t had that since the 2000s I feel like. We always have had offensive play, but we all know defense wins playoffs.
Tennessee and offensive style, remember their coach was our QB and OC. We fired him. Playing in COMO, we have played in COMO more than any SEC team. They don't scare me. Neither does Ole Miss. Bama and LSU will be tough. Especially traveling to Baton Rouge. Season will be tough, but I am glad to see that you respect the Sooners, it was nice to see!
8-4/9-3 is my prediction. The 4 nonconference cupcakes & South Carolina are Ws. Probably will go 4-3 or 3-4 vs the other 7 (Tennessee, Texas, Bama, @Miss, @Auburn, @Mizzou, and @LSU).
I try to be unbiased, but when you are a fan, you are a fan. I think OU could take some lumps in 2024 (7-5 or 8-4. Ceiling 10-2). But you better get us in 2024, because we have a lot of talent on this team, but they will be very young in 2024. I think 2025 and 2026 is when OU will be ready to challenge for an SEC Championship!
Havent seen anything like tennessee before? U know josh heupel both played and coached for us for years right? Venebles and josh know eachother coached together and know eachothers schemes well
You really said OU hasn't seen that type of tempo vs Tennessee, when they literally ran high tempo last season. 😂 Oklahoma's defense will be ready for just about anything
I'm sure it'll be a rockous crowd. The crowd at the Palace in Norman needs to up their game when SEC opponents come to visit.. I say this as an OU fan.
Looking forward to it and we all hope it's a night game so there are no excuses if OU pulls out a win. Should be a great game regardless. A great way to end the regular season.
I'm a Oklahoma sooner fan and I have no idea what to expect next season to be truthful with you I have no confidence whatsoever in these new offensive coordinators we went from one of the best offensive coordinators and the country to these 2 guys hopefully I'm wrong but we will see
Blayne, Sooner fan here. You paint a very optimistic picture for OU's first year and I don't realistically see it. OU is trying to cobble together and beef-up an entirely new offensive line and with a new QB I'm nervous to see what the production will be. As an ex-QB, I do think Jackson Arnold has a lot of potential but it's hard to gauge just how fast he'll adapt to the SEC line pressure and speed in the secondary. On the defensive side we're trying to beef up the D-line but again, I'm not sure OU has the "mass" and position depth to finish the 4th quarter - the defense has vastly improved but is not proven against this level of talent. I do have faith that Brent Venable's is building a competitive program and do see OU being in the top 5 teams soon. This will be a great year of learning and building - I do know that OU does not fear any team in the SEC - we'll see how they will match up with talent. I appreciate your analysis and can't wait for all the talking to stop and see what happens on the field - that's why they play the game. Boomer Sooner!
Literally theres only one question and thats line and aint the first time ch. bedenbaugh has lost his entire line and still brought back a competitive line the next year. Every thing out side of that really didnt lose much. And you see the dline we brought in 5 star and 4 star out of img academy. One near 300 other over. And brought nearly everyone back outside of olibe. 4 losses max.
How many years of top 10 classes in a row do you need, before you think OU can beat teams that get classes that are not top 10? This talk that OU doesn't have the horses, is utter NONSENSE. We won't be the most talented team in the SEC, but we will be near the top.
@@brandondickson5381 We literally have a better roster than over half the SEC does. I get it that our goals include being at the top, but pretending like we are the 17th best roster in the SEC, is just bizarre to me, and I see that mentality all the time.
@@TakoreyHudson Should be a good game but there isn't a world where OU is afraid of Ole Miss. And yeah, OU thinks they can walk into anywhere and win. If you don't think that way you already lost.
OU doesn't run the same offense. However, his statement was off because the Tennessee offense most resembles Baylor's offense in the past (which OU saw). Tennessee's offense playstyle basically came from the Big12.
@@volbound1700 Jeff Lebby runs the Art Briles Baylor offense. Its his father and law, and he coached on that staff. Its literally the same offense as Tennessee runs.
OU going to do "just fine" in the $EC? What does that mean? What's your definition of "fine"? OU is used to playing in the conference championship game on an annual basis. Those days are over. OU is used to being able to only show up 2 times a year and play at a high level in their conference games and still play for the championship. Those days are over. With NIL levelling the playing field, no longer will they be able to just flash their "brand" and get the best recruits. Instead of only having to battle Texas for their conference recruiting battles, they now have to fight Ole Miss, Georgia, Alabama, aTm and even Missouri who are throwing huge dollars into the NIL pot. Hell, the guy managing the OU NIL collective was on a podcast yesterday and sounded like a total buffoon. First bragging on the ROI they get out of their NIL, then begging for money the next minute. Also bragging they refuse to pay a player above what they consider "market value". LOLOL! I've got news for that idiot...the market itself determines a players value. If someone is willing to pay it, THAT sets the market. Not the poverty NIL programs like OU's. OU is nowhere near ready for the blood soaked wars of the SEC, either on the field or on the recruiting/NIL trail.

You don't have to be undefeated anymore, to make the playoff. If OU loses to just LSU and Bama, they might be in the playoff anyway.
