The 2023 Nissan Ariya e-4ORCE Is A GTR-Inspired All-Weather Electric SUV

  • Nissan's first-ever AWD electric SUV has arrived and the 2023 #NissanAriya is targeting the heart of the segment with the #Ariyae4ORCE. This dual-motor version of the #Ariya offers roughly twice the power and torque of the single motor version, while max range at 272 miles is competitive amongst its rivals. For an extra $4,000, the #e4ORCE version of the #Nissan Ariya seems like a worthy option.

    Happy Friday guys! Hope you all had a great week! We've braved the heavy rains and winds earlier this week in Northern California to drive the AWD version of the Ariya and came away more impressed than we thought! We're hoping to get our hands on one soon for a longer period to test out the range and charging speeds on a Level 3 station, but even though Nissan had to delay this car, its still a solid choice in the segment. Expect the e-4ORCE model to show up in dealers later this month!

      Nissan is directly competing with the Y. I was going to get a Y, but the more practical Ariya at 48k vs 65k for the Y it was a no-brainer. I need more practicality from Tesla.

    Nissan coming back strong!
    I like that it has a normal door handle. Sturdy and works better. I don't like to advertise to the world that my car is unlocked with those silly slideout ones.

    Hmmm, let's see. Decent exterior appearance (although, I'd likely go with the smaller wheels), regular door handles, a regular steering wheel (not a stupid yoke) and a beautiful interior that isn't covered in gloss black plastic. If you are looking for a regular EV (not a racecar), this is a very good option.

    • @Stressless2023
      @Stressless2023 Рік тому +1

    • @jeffer1101
      @jeffer1101 Рік тому +1

      @@Stressless2023 It's an EV, they're all expensive. This one at least looks half decent inside. Most sub $60k EVs look like $20k econoboxes as that's basically what they are. A $20k economy car with a $25k battery.

    • @Stressless2023
      @Stressless2023 Рік тому +1

      @@jeffer1101 Oh I'm aware that most can creep up into this price range, but I'd feel the same way about paying this much money for any vehicle from a mainstream brand like Nissan unless it was a nice truck or some sort of collectible. I bought the wife a new lightly-equipped but not base model 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV late last year for roughly $31k and while it does look more "economy" car than this as you said, it still looks modern and relatively substantial in size, and I'm sitting on the $30k difference in price which is what matters more to me lol. I considered Tesla for our first EV and just couldn't justify the cost difference outside of the autonomous driving features which the wife is still afraid of anyway. I don't find the styling of this car to be particularly ground-breaking or special, certainly not bad though, but the interior design/features is especially impressive to my eyes. For around $45k very well equipped I'd be mildly interested in this as a replacement for my current Toyota Venza daily driver, but $60k+ for a near-loaded Nissan EV I'll pass. Definitely a good effort on them though.

It has electric power steering, LKAS, adaptive cruise control, FCW and automatic braking, RCTA and rear automatic braking, 360° camera, F+R parking sensors, adaptive full LED headlights… but look at the Q50 now… 9 years later it is relatively identical in terms of tech. automakers have passed it and making these things standard and not a pricey option

The best part, I think, is it's competitively priced compared to other similar cars, so if you're thinking of getting an EV, I feel this one should be at the top of your list. My buddy bought a Nissan Leaf a few months ago, and took it on a road trip to Connecticut from Pennsylvania. He said one of the biggest downsides that he didn’t consider before driving it is how much less battery life you get using your heat settings in your car. The electric car doesn’t produce heat like an engine, so it draws on the battery. When they say “max range”, they mean best case scenario. They did the trip in some pretty bitter winter weather. He said he was also surprised that it was still pricey to stop and charge the vehicle a few times. Even though it was cheaper than gas it’s still is a cost to consider. Aside from that he loves it.
    I commute too much to rely on a fully electric vehicle at the moment, but hopefully in the next few years they continue to increase the range. I just traded my 2018 CX5 for a 2023 Outback. I’m assuming the next vehicle I buy will be fully electric.
    This new Nissan is actually really cool looking with a sweet interior. And I really like what Toyota has done with the new Prius. Lots to look forward to.

      @@hellkitty1014 I'd love to see what Nissan can do with a hypothetical Infiniti version of the Ariya.

      @@vincenty747 indeed! I wish Nissan would figure out whether or not they want Infiniti to be successful beyond its current state. The newest product in their lineup, the QX60, isn't all that much more luxurious/different than a Pathfinder Platinum. The Q50/60 date back to the 2014 model-year, however there have been two gens of Altima during that time frame(2.5 if you count the 2023 refresh). Infiniti doesn't even offer a hybrid at the moment(neither does crosstown rival Acura, sans the NSX, interestingly enough). Nissan is obviously pouring money into the core Nissan brand(even the Titan has a more modern transmission than the QX80, which shares the V8), so it is strange that Infiniti seems to not have an obvious identity at the moment.

    I'm surprisingly impressed. Build quality and styling look really good. That blue interior should be gray with a red exterior though as that combination looks hideous. I really like that shade of blue, but it needs to be matched with a white, black, or midnight blue exterior.

    If Nissan can improve the charging curve/max speed, this is a winner. The interior is SO much better than the Y/Mach-E/ID.4 it's not even funny.

    For a battery that large, it should be getting closer to 300 miles. Regardless the actual car is very good. But the price is WAY to high. 60K is a lot for that vehicle. Should have just badged it as an infinite

    Great looking and fully featured SUV, but wish it had more modern faster charging. Rumor is it typical charges at only 90kW. It will have to be seriously discounted to compete with a Model Y.

    I may get crucified for this, but Nissan may have delivered the best all-around/complete EV for the money, currently. It has sufficient power for 90% of its targeted audience(it won't scare a Model 3 Performance or EV6 GT, but on par with standard models). 270 miles of range is again, enough for most of its audience, who are city/urban dwellers. It has up-to-date technology and features as well.
    For me, the interior is unexpectedly upmarket, and yes, better executed than what even Lexus is offering now(and this outclasses Nissan's own Infiniti). The fact that Nissan could've easily given just another boring black interior but didn't shows they're thinking more in terms of advancement for the brand. The overall environment does not scream mainstream.
    I'm a fan of this and would put it towards the top of the list if I were going for an EV.
