Nice 1982 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Indy 500 Pace Car. The deleted cat makes the factory dual resonators sound even better. That car originally came with the standard 305 LG4 V8 carb and a 4-Speed manual transmission. The 3-Speed Auto was optional for that engine. The standard engine on the Indy 500 was the 305 LU5 V8 Cross-Fire Injection which came standard only with a 3-Speed auto. The L69 305 V8 carb wasn't available until late 1983. It had a dual snorkel air cleaner on the Z28 and a factory electric fan among other goodies under its hood. 1983 was also the first year for the 5 speed manual and the 4-speed auto with overdrive.
nice, they only made 363 pace cars with 4 speeds from the factory, fun cars
These cars bring back high school memories for me. Unfortunately they only had about 165 horsepower. I still love the look though
245 lb ft torque. Nothing to sneeze about 🤧
Right on bro mine was the 82 first year 305 for speed blue metallic thrashed it and crashed it wish I still had it. 😎
The car and the sound @6:30 are familiar they went together well back then Class of 83. That’s how I remember it!
The greatness of the cars and variety of Maple Motors is outstanding!!!
Those are cool and you don't see them around anymore!!! 🏁🏁
Good video. I used to drive that exact same car. Same with No exhaust Cat. Shifting gears will becomes natural after a while. Drive it easy like you were doing. It's best not to go hard on these first 3rd gens. Fun car to drive.
You can tell that the previous owner really care for this 3 Generation 1982 Chevrolet Camaro Pace car Z - 28 the only thing i would do to this car Is lightly refreshing the paint job Put a true duel exhaust system on, and possible drop a 350 sbc V8 engine in ,6 speed manual transmission, and a nice beef up rear end 💪💪🇺🇸🇺🇸😃😃👍👍👍👍
That Camaro is beautiful and rare, but it does sound like it needs some TLC!!
As a 80s kid the third gen Camaros and Trans Ams have such a special place in my heart but having said that so do the fourth gens 😂
Drove the same car but automatic for a friend, 5,500 miles 1982
You got ole' nicky baby with a solid 82 z. My froend had a 82 4 speed. Decent performer. The air cleaner says h.o. my friends only had the reg. Lg4 305. Maybe the indy 500 ones got the h.o. The h.o. motors were much better performers
Wow a 4-speed manual that's not from the 60's it's probably got a single traction rear-end too. It's in very good shape! A great candidate for a LS 6-speed swap
They're like a go-kart with a V8 sure miss my 🍀89 RS 😎✌️
Nice daily driver at a fair price.
The needles on those gauges sometimes get stuck on the aluminium-plate behind the plastic-plate. Could be that it just needs to be freed up, the gauges might just work just fine. Easy fix anyway :)
You do a great job on the videos don't worry about what that guy says you do more than most car dealers would do
Nice piece of history. I am not big camaro guy so I don't know alot about them but I am sure thats first year of that bodystyle.... plus its 500 car. It looks good to be 41 years old thats for sure.
I also owned one of these…they were great for snorting candy on the front headlights in the 80’s
Clutch sounds pretty squeaky hmm
😁
@@amazonwoman1970 pedal probably needs lubricant
[check engine] light works 👍
Cool 😎 . I also have a 82 Camaro Pace Car . I restored it , just one of my cars .
Dang already sold!
I know its been sold but I wonder if it was a real 82 Indy car or not. It didn't have the RPO plate thats rivited in place on the upper radiator support that is really suspect to me as it has codes on it specific to the indy pace car only. Also the interior panels had peeling paint. From the factory those panels weren't painted. Tail lights from a Iiroc or 90-92 RS/Z28. I could be wrong and it is in fact an actual 82 Indy Z28.
Didn't these have some sort of a ram air set up? I don't remember which 3rd gen had it.
Nice ride
How smooth does that Camaro shift??
Great paint scheme
The car is a 1982 and it was driven. It shows very well for its age. Just needs a little freshening up in the interior panels.
Gonna watch this video later, but I'm hoping this Camaro has the clock in the center console where the emergency brake is. If so, does it work?
Classic.
Your video's are Great! Block those who complain Don't give them a voice
Right lol no reason for all that nonsense
Wow, what a classic beauty!
I drove a 84 5 speed for 12 years started 5.0 blew it put in a 327 spun the bearings put in a 350 lasted forever!!!!!
Love these cars
Another sweet ride!
I agree!
Very nice! 👍😎
Looks like an honest original car that needs maybe an O2 sensor and some shift linkage attention. It looks like it was garaged and cared for.
Didn’t these Camaro pace cars ALL come with the cross-fire injection?!
That's what I thought, too.
It even has an idjut light lol - i likes 👍
Thank God you've got that "THING" priced right😱...🤣!
🤣it would be so funny to pull out that crappy 5.0 and put in a real 5.0L(dz 302) with that four speed, everybody would want to know why its so friggin fast for a 3rd gen..its just got a 5.0 4barrel in it im not sure😆🤣
first year third gen. Camaro nice so stock & original
Nice car.
No AC in the check engine light comes on that just dropped the sticker price $2,000
IROCs, back when cars still had style and architecture
Back tail lights are not the original… those where on later Z28 and IROCs
My buddy has one of these he restored in highschool with his dad. Automatic though.
Nice car😅
All these cars reminds me my lovely brother
Wheres my ford guy at i was debating with about crowd killers? If your reading this i wanted to tell you, you were right. I stand corrected. My appologies.
I just saw one exactly lile these one for sale in the 12k
Nice car
Nice uncommon but original Camaro.
Not original. At the very least, the tail lights aren’t original. They’re 1985-1992 taillights.
The taillights aren't accurate on that year. They didn't put that style on until the 1985 IROC. The 82 Z-28 should only have a single horizontal black line in the center of the lens.
It should have come with the cross fire in it. That thing is leaking from everywhere, the underside is drenched in fluids.
Maple motors are awsome
Is this still available?
that gen has too much glass...edit, dads everywhere just winced when u jammed first...
Quiet Riot and 3rd gen Camaros. Just like Peanut Butter and Jelly 😎
The car is 40 years old, what you expect, not gonna be perfect, but a nice car for what it is. Great patina, 10-15k car the way it is
One good thing about buying this car in the current shape is that you use as a daily driver.
Lake Asbury Florida 83 navy guy that lived with friend of mines dad had the exact same one
Like four🤨 hi nick🇺🇸🇧🇷
👍🔥😎🔥👍
That car has a bad shifter linkage, otherwise ok for an original 40 plus year old vehicle.
You doing an Awesome Job so don't listen to stupid people saying stupid things 🙂 ask them if they want cheese to go with your whine🤪🤣
This car was bought by a classic car dealer in Georgia, and they are selling it for more than double the price 😡
Yes that happens all the time, we are $2,000 under the national average. Thanks
I was planning on buying a car from you anyway. But after seeing that, I am 100% sure that my first classic car will be from you guys. I'm currently saving up now. And when I get about 20k saved up, I'm heading your way. No way am I going to a dealer here in Georgia. Freaking crooks lol 🤣
Howdy, I was curious is that a 305 or 327? I think the 350 is 5.7liter. I think lol.
305 cross fire
@@allmightygreat1892 thank you
@@ARTWV the 85 was first year for iroc with ground effects and rounder front end tpi 305. The 87 may had been first year with the 350 corvette motor. 83 84 was 305 cross fire. Enjoyed the 350 corvette motor in many cars. Real joy to drive very quick
@@ARTWV the 305 was kinda lagging had that in a few camaros. The vette motors are a lot more fun.
@@allmightygreat1892 those Iroc Z are pretty sweet with the ground effects. I’ve had several with a 350. I had a 79Z. That was a nice hot rod.
Oh yes its a chevy
That exhaust is horrific
Hey Nick 👋
Can you give me a shout out if you ever come across a Z28 IROC Z CAMARO 🙏👍🥰
leaker
That year had plastic gears
o nick net picks um preety gd i think these o cars r 50 2 60 years old my goodness.
Nobody cares about mileage ? LOL
