Yeah. It is very underrated in my mind. I think it shows Wayne that what goes around comes around, especially with the chip dip scene. I also think it teaches kids morals like with the Ricky King and Jenny part.
When I looked at the average of all the IMDB ratings. I saw Honey We Shrunk Ourselves just slightly outranked Honey I Blew Up the Kid. That tells me something.
It's a shame what happened to the Shrinking Machine prop after this film wrapped. The same prop was used for all three films in the "Honey, I" series, although modifications were made in each film (most noticibly this one). But after this film, the Shrinking Machine prop was put in some warehouse and fell into disrepair (looks like over the years people had helped themselves to various parts of the prop). It ultimately was restored back to how it appeared in the first film (I think they are going to use it for the new film, "Shrunk").
That sad story has a happy ending (and a great mini-documentary on Disney+ about the restoration of that machine). The original machine from the 80s as seen in the first film had a dangerous, homemade look to it. It fit the film perfectly as a "character" some wild inventor would create. For the 3rd film, the new machine looks like a cheap fan-made prop and I was later sad to learn they Frankenstein the original. In the end, glad care was taken to restore it.
@@jasonkyleadams7577 I've always wondered what would happen if Wayne were to meet Wallace (from Wallace and Gromit). They're both "wacky" inventors whose inventions make simple tasks needlessly complicated.
@@kayleesmith6725 It was called "Prop Culture", created by Dan Lanigan and one of the episodes went into detail of the Shrinking Machine and how they restored it from its Honey We Shrunk Ourselves state. All his episodes of Prop Culture were great, but Disney removed them from Disney+ to save money. Hope they return or someone loads it up here.
What could've been going through Rick Moranis' mind when doing this movie? Nobody he did the first 2 films with were even in this film. He probably felt as if he was making an entirely different film altogether.

Allison Mack was sentenced to three years in prison in 2021 and served 21 months in Federal Correctional Institution, Dublin, in California and was released in July 2023.
Not only did Allison Mack get herself involved with a pervasive sex cult, but Bug Hall was also being sexually abused during his acting career during almost every project he did. There's a video on his UA-cam channel of him opening up publicly and breaking silence about the whole situation, and it's actually quite sad now that I think about it.
