Great bit of kit and I hope everyone who lives in the working area of that appliance is greatfull of the freemasons for buying it out their own pockets and donating it.

it's cute that you believe that. if you'd really done a 'design' it would have gone into production. it's more likely that your crayon drawings ended up in the bin
The first ALP appliance arrived at Greenfel 32 Minutes after the first calls. It was not part of the initial response (only 4 pumps) and was only request after an station officer arrived at the location.
Impressive, but seems like a much lighter truck than what we see here in the US / Canada. Toronto has a US-style ladder that is taller than this but I will say the engine on this truck sounded very smooth.
takes more than a little OJT to figure this thing out. Wind load etc must be figured in. What about weight load at full extension etc. Pretty tricky technical stuff. A fully sprinkled building with occupant lines and nonflammable cladding is a better fix.
Hopefully this sets a president for the fire services worldwide, but of course practice will be important firstly, the costs are definitely going to be interesting especially the ladder in itself, truck's are at the level already, London is possible overdue although thankful donation is the only way,
what an absolute piece of kit saving lives is very important this aparatus is amazing. as developers keep building higher the fire brigade need to be able to reach the hieghts of thease buildings. so money well spent.
