Catching Redfish on an Island | Shired Island Campground in Steinhatchee, FL

While fishing the Florida Redfish Series in Steinhatchee we camped at Shired Island Campground for the week. This place is an absolute gem!
There's currently no running water or electricity as of January 2024 but there use to be and I have to believe they may try and build it back. In the meantime, we packed in all of our water and self powered items to keep up and running.
There are plenty of creeks to explore in this area and I'm excited to go back and fish for redfish later on this year and see how different the fishing might be.

I fish Steinhatchee quite often but have never tried the island. Might have to plan it for an upcoming fishing trip and video. Enjoyed the video, new sub.

Nice video! I have been planning on camping/kayak fishing at Shired Island Campground for some time but nobody answers the phone so I don't know if it's reservation only or first come?

Yeah they don't have the best communications but yes, first come first serve. In the morning the old man and his buddy will wake you up by honking his horn at your tent and telling you to pay up lol
