  • Cool ride out on the Royal Enfield Classic 350
Only 6C tops on the hills and overcast again. Route: Durham out to Middleton-in-Teesdale via Butterknowle and Woodland. And returning via Bollihope and Frosterley.
A big thank you to everyone who has subscribed (99 people at the moment) and all who have liked the videos. It wasn't/isn't my intention to become a 'proper' You-tuber and I've never asked anyone to subscribe or like ...but I'm very happy that some people enjoy them or just view my content (even briefly).
Not really trying to Vlog or anything, just me messing about on my motorcycle and playing with recording gear etc. No talking just riding (I'm not one for talking).
Bike mods: Pretty standard this one ...so far. Only has bar end mirrors and tank knee pads (came like that) and now with DNA filter. There's a couple of new relays and I cleaned the rest ...I've also moved the gear lever up one spline. It's now fitted with a single Royal Enfield pannier and a cheap decat pipe.
Recording Stuff: Insta 360 X3 (with motorcycle kit) (Camera World); Movo Wireless Mini Duo (for sound, Mounted under side panel); Ulanzi MT-58 1.21m Selfie Stick.

It's really enjoyable to ride, it's not fast but makes you appreciate the ride and the passing scenery and it'd make a great first bike.

Any of the RE bikes would be great first bikes. I couldn’t decide, I wanted them all. I ended up getting a Moto Guzzi V7 as my first bike 2 years ago. Then last year I bought the Himalayan as I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I just sold an RV and part of the deal was I got a Suzuki Boulevard C50. It’s cool but I’m selling it to my dad. And this year I’m definitely buying a Classic 350. There’s just something about RE bikes. Enjoy the ride!

With the exception of a classic Velocette, the RE C350 was my first modern bike. They are great, well built and sturdy, personally for the type of riding I do, plenty quick enough. Mine's done just under 2k miles now and is really starting to impress, bags of torque.

Any fall/crash would cripple you at your age😮. . .guess you decided it's worth the risk. I sold my bike when I was 52, thinking I'd never recover from a fall unlike multitudes of old guys on UA-cam riding in their 60s

Most probably. I think everyone has their own formula to weigh up the risk and benefits depending on a lot of things. For me, at 64 (and I've always been very active) my feet🦶, right knee 🦵 and hip hurts just walking to the local shop and working in my garden 🌻gets me everywhere ...and it's not going to get better for any of us. So I'll keep doing the things I enjoy until I can't, and there's always risks🍷🏍🚲🤟. I suppose it's actually a little safer than riding my pushbike at over 50mph downhill with a thin layer of lycra for protection (which I very recently would often do).
