He was sliding between being Vader and being Anakin. They showed it with the lighting after the helmet split. It was blue until he said Anakin was dead, then is tilted to red, showing him return to being Vader, burying what remained of Anakin until Luke drew it out later.
Ok unpopular opinion, but this version of the mask being cut open might be better than the Rebels one. They definitely did the mixing of Anakin and Vader’s voice better this time around.
I think the reason why Reva wanted to kill Luke was to get back at Vader. Making him suffer as much as she did. But if she followed through with it, she would become as bad as he is. So, Reva stopped herself. And honored her fallen friends.
Yep exactly. Reva's story is basically what if Anakin, at any point after he cut off Windu's hand, stopped and looked back and said no, this isn't me and I'm not going to continue down this path. Instead of lying to himself that he's doing the right thing and even if he's not it's too late for him.

The special effects in the 4th episode during the rescue from Fortress Inquisitorious looked cheap, especially the snowspeeders at the end, and some of the scenes were over-the-top ridiculous (e.g., Obi-Wan walking with Leia only partially hidden under his long coat like a trick from an old Scooby Doo cartoon).

Obi-wan is more powerful than he’s ever been because he’s letting go of the misconceptions the Jedi held about the force. Namely avoiding attachments. He cares for Luke and Leia and fighting for them makes him stronger than ever before. Vader on the other hand is conflicted. In his fight with both Ashoka and Obi-wan his resolve falters and he can’t fight at full strength because of that. Had Obi-wan or Ashoka not had that relationship with Anakin they’d be dead in the dirt regardless of any newfound sources of strength.
It bothers me that everyone that is complaining about how convenient it is that Obi-Wan arrives just in time on Tatooine, clearly don't know that sometimes movies and TV show are made to look like everything is happening at the same time but that's just for the audience. Realistically, it took Reva probably a while to get to Tattoine and the fight between Kenobi and Vader probably took place while Reva was still travelling to Tatooine. And then when Obi Wan senses that Luke is in danger, that could very well have been him sensing that Reva had just arrived on Tatooine. But thanks to the power of editing, it all seems to be happening at the same time.
8:43 - although Anakin (and I quote) "can see things before they happen" .... why are 'smart' opponents always igniting their lightsabers before striking at Vader? They could all 'pull a Kylo Ren' and activate it *blast* style like in TLJ.
I really love how they decided to explain why "Ben" Kenobi tells Luke Vader killed his father. It's not just a symbolism like you'd think (dark side consuming the man) but the actual words Vader himself said, so Kenobi has no reason to doubt him about it. I don't know however why he calls him Darth. He has to know that's just an title, not the actual name. Guess they added it to the script so it "justifies" him using the word again at the New Hope, though it doesn't explain anything.. This show was as big of an disappointment as the Book of Boba Fett, but both series' had some very impactful moments, which made it worth to watch them in the end.
The Inquisitors are a special division of force sensitives, all former Jedi who surrendered to the Empire during the Jedi Purge and fell to the dark side of the Force. Trained by Darth Vader himself, the Inquisitors are Sith in all but name (as there can only be two Dark Lords at a time)
Man that duel was OP as hell! Vader and Lia were the best parts of this show. I’m still trying to figure out why Reva wanted to kill Luke. Maybe to steal the glory from Vader and or regain favor? Or maybe she thought that he actually cares about Luke so she’d be avenging the family he took from her by killing him.
You know after this whole time I realized why reva wanted “justice” by going after Luke. It’s just because he’s a Skywalker, son of Anakin. It’s for her own satisfaction.
You know what would’ve been cool? Seeing Vader encounter Maul and have a brief duel. In many ways, Vader and Maul are quite the same. Both are Sidious’ apprentices, have a deep hatred for Kenobi, had their legs cut off by him.
That happens in a comic, before Rebels got made. Vader wins by impaling himself on his own lightsaber blade so it goes through Maul too. Maul basically says something like..."Your hatred...what do you hate that much?" Vader just says one word. "Myself."
One of the biggest problems in this show and all sequel content is that no has died from a lightsaber stab. Qui-gon died for a stab, Savage Opress (only being to fight all 4 sith, maul, dooku, anakin, and sidious) died for a stab dueling Sidious on Mandalore. Other than that, this show was extraordinary.
In fairness, Reva isn't a full Sith, and she wasn't trying to kill them. Also, when those troopers kill them, they're a decade older weren't expecting it

i cant wait for the future Obi Wan and Qui Gonn talks about what became of young Anakin SKywalker..Qui Gonn has to feel immense guilt for pushing the training of Anakin as he was warned by Yoda and others not to. Obi Wan only reluctantly trained Anakin due to the promise he made a dying Qui Gonn.
I like how he said "Goodbye Darth" instead of "Goodbye Vader" because Alex Guinness' Obi-Wan only called him Darth when they meet up years later in the original movie. Did they even know Darth was his title and not his name back in 1977?
Here is something to think about 🤔….. Go back and watch at least the scene in Star Wars a New Hope where Old Ben is putting the fallen Jawas in a funeral pyre and imagine if it was his old friend Teeka & her tribe 😉 That would explain why he took the time to give them a proper funeral especially with everything that was going on by that time in the movie and knowing that Stormtroopers where near 😉 Anyway just a thought 💭 and it gives the scene a little more depth not that it needs it as Star Wars a New Hope was the best movie ever made!

I love when Vader told Obi Wan that Anakin wasn't his failure.
"That's the emotion I needed." Honestly, a review doesn't get clearer or better than that.
14:38 HIS RESPONSE 😂😂
Obi is Space Jesus…
Change my mind
I can honestly say this show doesn’t need a season 2 it’s ties everything up beautifully!
Yes but i wish maul was in there too but cant have two badasess running the show even tho i feel maul and obi vs vader wouldave been the cherry on top
This series was perfect to me
RIP James Earl Jones.
13:39 ‘The Hood Anthem’
I was looking for this comment as soon as I heard it said lmao
we finally saw how powerful obi-wan could be when he used emotions… that’s all
Alec Guinness said it best, but when Ewan says "hello there" to Luke I lose it every single time
Just a quote. That purple light on Vader's face, that means the conflict inside him, and then the light turns red, because of the hate...
They don't need to do a season 2. This show is all we needed. My personal favorite star wars show of this era.
8:43 - although Anakin (and I quote) "can see things before they happen" .... why are 'smart' opponents always igniting their lightsabers before striking at Vader?
They could all 'pull a Kylo Ren' and activate it *blast* style like in TLJ.
RIP to James Earl Jones and his final performance as Vader. Thankfully he signed his voice rights to lucasarts and his legacy as Vader can go on!
I still think that Qui-Gon is gonna teach Obi-Wan how to force-ghost.
That’s literally the whole point of them bringing him back. Otherwise there was no reason to
I do not want a second season. Perfect ending
this last episode was a gifth for all SW fans !!
its all there !!
the fight scene with VAder and Kenobi was fire !!
hope they really do a season 2 !!
This show was as big of an disappointment as the Book of Boba Fett, but both series' had some very impactful moments, which made it worth to watch them in the end.
it was interesting to see Vader among other Sith Lords.
And what Sith Lords are you referring to?
The Inquisitors are a special division of force sensitives, all former Jedi who surrendered to the Empire during the Jedi Purge and fell to the dark side of the Force. Trained by Darth Vader himself, the Inquisitors are Sith in all but name (as there can only be two Dark Lords at a time)
i also love how this show fills in the blanks on obi not being as close to leia as he used too
6:48 “Who’s got the High Ground now?”
“Beats by Sith” 🤣🤣🤣
i have to admit when i first saw the Qui-Gon's ghost, i had a fan-gasm
Vader must have been napping to allow Obi-Wan to damage his chest panel
When Old Ben Kenobi said to young Leia about how she reminds him of her Which person was he referring to Duchess Satine or Padmè Amidala or both
Probably mostly Padme but a bit of both
I loved it. Awesome series. Hope there's more in the works.
BEST lightsaber duel in live action Star Wars, bar none!
lol not even close
I don’t know the Mustafar duel gives this a run for its money.
Nothing will ever top the Mustaphar duel, and that is how it should always be in this saga.
IMO it would’ve been better if it was a movie, not a mini series
14:38 That was cold 💀💀💀
Man that duel was OP as hell! Vader and Lia were the best parts of this show. I’m still trying to figure out why Reva wanted to kill Luke. Maybe to steal the glory from Vader and or regain favor? Or maybe she thought that he actually cares about Luke so she’d be avenging the family he took from her by killing him.
Viewers: man UA-cam recommendations are being boring lately-
Kenobi Clips: *Hello There!*
You know after this whole time I realized why reva wanted “justice” by going after Luke. It’s just because he’s a Skywalker, son of Anakin. It’s for her own satisfaction.
I’ve seen the whole series and just found Quigon makes an appearance.😭😭😭
Will Obi-Wan go looking for his brother? He has leared the importens and strength of family🤔
it is a shame that Carrie wasn't here to see Vivian playing young Leia, she would have approved!
I can’t believe how much crap people gave this series. It gave me everything I wanted and a whole lot more.
Ye to YOU. Not anyone else
"Myself."
@@JnEricsonx Was this Canon or Legends?
@@mightymorphincosmicfuryrangers Legends I think.
9:00
up, up, down, down, left, up, left, right, down, up, a, a, r2, l2, start
*god mode activated*
Grand Inquisitor don't want to go after Ben Kenobi because he's afraid that he might run into him and get killed himself
That strike from obi wan to open up vader's mask, was that an Ataru move?
Come to destroy me? Dude you followed him around this entire show
will there be obi wan kenobi season 2? I really hope to see more of Kenobi
I like how Owen and Baroo can take on a Sith but get gets totally barbecued by a few bumbling storm troopers
In fairness, Reva isn't a full Sith, and she wasn't trying to kill them. Also, when those troopers kill them, they're a decade older weren't expecting it

Who says they went down without a fight?
i cant wait for the future Obi Wan and Qui Gonn talks about what became of young Anakin SKywalker..Qui Gonn has to feel immense guilt for pushing the training of Anakin as he was warned by Yoda and others not to. Obi Wan only reluctantly trained Anakin due to the promise he made a dying Qui Gonn.
The nerds on this give me life. We are all one with the force.
I like how he said "Goodbye Darth" instead of "Goodbye Vader" because Alex Guinness' Obi-Wan only called him Darth when they meet up years later in the original movie. Did they even know Darth was his title and not his name back in 1977?
Probably not. Obi-Wan calling him Darth instead of Vader is him accepting that Anakin is gone for good.
