    This is so helpful. I can't believe how much my handstand has improved just by doing this.

    Great video! This will definitely improve my handstand. I went into 2020 with 2 fitness goals: hold a 10-second handstand, and successfully perform the pistol squat. Thanks in part to your tips I've accomplished both, but always looking to improve and add other skills.

      Congrats on nailing both those goals! And the year is only just over halfway done. Impressive! 💪

      @@sxdx-8519 frog stand to handstand is not a beginner thing requires a lot of strength and balance and kick up requires only balance so for beginners i would say kickup

      @@135eca I'm not a beginner though, I've been practicing kickup for so long I just can't seem to get it. If I get it I can stay in the handstand and hold it. I've tried frogstand and I can already hold it for 20+ sec

    I have been practicing handstands for some time now, months I would say. Yet still, I am not able to balance at all. If I am lucky I can get 5s handstand. Followed your Frogstand to Handstand tutorial, I have seen a lot of others tutorials but I am still not able to balance. My form is good (said by observers who watched my). Pushing to fingers works to certain threshold, but how do I prevent my self from falling forward (direction of my toes)? Pushing to palms? If so, how the hell am I supposed to lift myself (even little) like that? Would be grateful for any advice.
    And btw, your videos are great. Keep it up.

    Hey Ryan, great video! I believe I have built the strength and mobility to succeed in the freestanding handstand, but cannot seem to get the kick-up down. Your videos so far are a little light and short on that element and would really like some more tips. Love the videos, thanks for what you do!

    • @MinusTheGym
      @MinusTheGym  4 роки тому +1

      Gregory Eckhartt Thanks! The 4th video in my handstand series is probably the most helpful (at the moment) for learning kick-ups in case you haven't seen it yet (ua-cam.com/video/Wylks_uLJfs/v-deo.html). Basically, I first practiced my kick-ups with the intention of bailing out once upside down. Then once I had bailing out down pat, I used the "hang time" before bailing to work on handstand holds. I'll make a kick-up tutorial soon, though. You're right - I haven't dove into the mechanics of the kick-up in any detail.

    Hi Ryan great vid. My problem is walking up the wall to hand stand position and I can get to about 60 degrees. I cant get further as I just feel "heavy" on my hands . Will definitely try this to build up strength.

    • @MinusTheGym
      @MinusTheGym  4 роки тому

      Yep, it takes time to build up the strength and confidence on those wall walks. In the beginning, I remember walking up the wall and *feeling* like I was completely upside down (it was intense!) but then climbed back down and watched the video I recorded of myself just to find out I was barely more than 45 degrees up the wall! 😂
