A legend paying tribute to a legend. He sure does put his whole guts into his performances. You can tell that Motown has been a huge influence in his music. He's my absolute favorite. I look forward to more Chris Stapleton reactions! :)
I love Chris Stapleton's genre mix. His influences must be B.B. King, Sam Cook, Teddy Pendergast, Merle haggard, Hank Williams, etc. I've wanted years for an artist to mix Country, Blues, and R&B and do it exceptionally well!
That was so moving and more so since it was an impromptu performance. Aretha was the real thing, and Chris is cut from the same cloth. Chris's daddy was a coal miner in Kentucky. Chris wrote a tribute to him when he passed called Daddy Doesn't Pray Anymore. It's another look into his soul.
great tribute, great reaction ....... the level of greatness of having Stapleton honor Aretha with one of her songs is surreal .... the two of them are literally among the greatest musicians humanity has ever had

Ya know he has so much of his original work out there that is so great! But!! When he covers other legendary music he does his absolute to honor and respect the memory of these artist's the best way he knows how...
Chris is an absolutely amazing musician!! Pure Soul!! BTW, if you have not seen Aretha's performance of the song you mentioned at the Kennedy Center Honors for Carole King, You should see it right away, whether you do a to it reaction or not.

Yes! Sir! That's all. Just Yes!! Sir!! and Yes!! Ma'am!! It freaking hot in here! I'm all sorts of bothered right now! I'm angry and I don't understand why! If I cursed, I've got a slew of words to yell at this man! He Meant that. His heart was broken but he wanted to say goodbye in a way he felt was dignified of a great and honestly maybe just for himself as well. God bless him. God bless Aretha. And God bless you Dramasyde.

Chris has no boundaries
I love that Chris does not care about racial, social, cultural boundaries...there should be none.
I'll never believe you can sing from that part of your soul unless your heart has been to that depth. It's feeling.
