You can definitely tell a lot of these top tier programs don’t have 30+ other sports to worry about. Ohio State, UM, Penn State, Cal, ND, all have to share money between 25-30 different sports at their respected university. LSU doesn’t seem to have that going on lol
LSU currently offers 17 Varsity sports and 50 National titles spread across ten different sports.
@@allia669 That’s my point. Ohio State and Michigan are 30 each I think. I know at Ohio state everything from wrestling to lacrosse has bad ass facilities
LSU football pays for everything LSU football , its its own thing , no state money or anything like that
@@barrettgranger9139 obviously. We are saying it also pays for all the other varsity sports. But, LSU football money only has to pay for 17 sports where the schools I mentioned have to fund 30. Therefore, a team like LSU football keeps more money for football.
@@barrettgranger9139 To clarify, at Ohio State, Football is the only sport that generates money. Men’s basketball may break even, but I doubt it. That means the other 28 sports are expenses and bc Football is the cash cow, it funds all the other sports. I’m certain the same goes for Louisiana State sports where 1 or 2 sports (football and basketball) make all the profit. The difference I’m talking about is they have 14 less sports to use that money toward. That’s why they can use more for football. Does that make sense?
