It’s hard for some guys to not reach for positions of need. I definitely agree that having a great defense is key to long term success and you need to build line out. But that strategy is easier when you have the QB already. Bill Belichick was able to keep the Patriots relevant despite having a blind spot for drafting and developing WR talent because Tom Brady was very good at elevating the play of average receivers.
also tom toke massive home team pay cuts to keep everyone together and to continue winning, also imo teams should always draft BPA and not overdraft on need. It consistently leads to more risk and all it takes is a few whiffs in the draft year to year and the team falls apart
1. Draft a good QB 2. Identify talented players and draft them. 3. Feel holes by drafting late gems. Love how he makes it sound so simple. Like “Yea just draft a good QB” 😂
@ T-Mac seems like a good player but I wouldn’t draft a WR top 10 unless they were truly an elite talent. Also, we currently don’t have anyone to get him the ball. I think we should be targeting the most impactful positions in the top 10 if we can’t get our QB which is OT, edge rusher or shut down corner. You can always find a WR in later rounds.
@ this is why I mentioned other impact positions outside of QB. But as they mentioned, the good teams draft a QB st some point every 2-3 years & try to develop them into solid backups & maybe you get lucky with a hidden gem
If I were the raiders, I’d consider a stop gap for a year and build for next years qb class, or Jaxon Dart in the 2nd. Of the 3 you named, i think Johnson is the best possibility to be at 6.

As a Seahawks fan, that's what John S. has failed to do, trying to draft a QB every few years. Even John admitted he had failed in that regard, even though John came from the Packers organization which had drafted quarterbacks even when they already had an established quarterback.
You start off with the Eagles and yes while building the team, but fail to mention they had 3 different head coaches during that span before making a move for Carson Wentz. 3 in 4 years.
@todd if im cleveland im trading our pick gaining this years first round and next years and probably a 2nd and a 4th rounder this year i just dont think any of these qbs are worth it i want to gain oline dline and henderson from ohio state and get conerly from Oregon helps oline and gives chubb if he returns some much needs help until he is back to form and could help chubb take his time to get back to form
what would you pay chubb as he is a UFA this year also i like the idea of trading down and I love any of the ohio state boys at RB but my big concern would be Myles Garrett requesting to be trading if they start another rebuild
your logic of passing on a top 2 QB (for some unknown agenda) is why the "BROWNS is the BROWNS". the last team that needs to pass on a QB is also the last team that needs to accumulate more picks (bc they have the most draft capital).
PIT’s history has been more successful…all the teams you outlined had high level QB play…PIT just goes to the playoffs every year with me and the person above me as the QB lol…
@Todd love your knowledge but aligning yourself to someone as a mainline strategy is not the way to go into a project. It's an element but that as the bedrock would be why they WOULDN'T select you coming out of the interview
How do you grade different positions from the collegiate level to a future nfl spot. Like what do you specifically look at for a quarterback that is supposed to translate to the NFL level? Or how do you find the next John Lynch at safety?
1. its athelticisim, for a QB ideally you want a guy thats 6'1" - 6'6" and at least 205 pounds. Plus in todays NFL landscape teams want a guy that can move. Someone with enough ability to at least get a 1st down when needed 2. its the system they played in and how well they can read defenses, i.e an offense like OLE MISS is unique and nothing in the NFL resembles it which will concern teams looking at Jaxson Dart this year as he is going to have to get used to a system that is very different 3. Accuracy/Arm Talent, conincides with athelticisim but this is also important when it comes to finding gems later it honestly comes down to luck as many guys can have enough talent to play in the NFL but may not get opportunities that others do
This is what football people want to hear about.
Not debating or hot take clickbait.
Couldn’t agree more
Correct. We wana hear about the New players! What they bring. Strength N Weakness’s personality types. The person. Let the tape speak!
The only problem is Hurts isn’t a top QB…..the Oline and WRs and Saquon are sooo good that it makes his job super easy
Love this deep dive content!
Todd still has his fastball. This is the kind of 1000 foot view look at the draft that we all love. It’s the nitty gritty draft sicko stuff. Love it.
Man this is WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT
Great video!
This is what the Brown's hierarchycneed to hear!

cmon its not that hard
What’s the story behind McShay’s Lafayette hat ?
As a Raider fan I’m praying for Graham, Johnson or Carter (assuming Ward, Sanders & Hunter are gone)
what do you think about T-MAC but Will Johnson is defo the guy for LV

@@ineedmoney5113 I agree but I would stay clear of QB’s until Late Day 2 as the class is very bad but for sure Johnson should be the pick

Very excited McShay is back to talk NFL Draft prospects!!!! Player vs player pro’s & Con’s! 🔥🫶🏽🤘🏽 LFG!
Drafting defensive players also helps on special teams.
A lot of people criticized picking Hurts. It's only bad to pick a QB when a team misses.
And now you have a qb that the team is afraid to let throw. That'll get you far.
Won a lot of games and have made it to the Super Bowl with him barely lost it too, get a life and be better with your football opinions
Unfortunately as a titans fan that’s all we do with qb picks, typically first round picks in general
@@DaydreamerMusicv1 And he's digressed ever since.

Don’t all teams draft like 2-5 defensive players each draft?
2-3 it depends on need, the draft quality and how many picks
Trent Mcduffie from DBU Washington 😈
he didnt talk about the packers? they had the blueprint for years since they stole bret favre from the falcons.

@ no QB in this class is 1st round worthy
I wish the Cowboys did it Defense first Jerry Jones only wants to draft WR 🙁
