The reason why Cobel is so good with children is because she manages a severed floor, the severed are but a few years old at most. You'll notice the way they act is infantalized and the way they are treated by the non severed as well.
I love the Milchick observation. A lot of actions Cobel and him have made are starting to cause problems to snowball out of control. I think we are at the point now where Milchick is starting to panic because he realizes how far it's starting to slip, while I feel like Cobel is still complacent in her hubris.
I love this show. Regarding who is severed and who isn't, I assume the people that go by first names are severed and the ones that go by last names are people not severed. (Not sure where Ms. Casey fits, she is obviously severed) I also love the fact that Ricken's book is full of nonsense but the severed MDR people are so emotionally naïve that they think it is utterly profound.
I dont know, sometimes you find meaning in something that might seem nonsensical, and sometimes things that seemingly have meaning were actually created in a nonsensical way. Its called synthesis, a form of literary analysis, finding your own meaning in something that might not have been created with meaning in mind. Maybe to everyone else it's nonsense, but to Ricken and the MDR people it has meaning, and so it is utterly profound because someone saw it that way. Its basically english analysis, I mean, who's to say any of the works they make us analyze in classes had meaning? Edit: I do agree that their emotional naivety contributes to that, but that doesn't take away from the meaning. Its also kinda a nice coincidence that the nonsensical stuff he wrote was actually very insightful to their situation.
I think with Ms Cobel, she was a child from an all girls school that an Eagan (or maybe even Kier) started. So ever since she was a little girl she was raised and grew up around Kier's values and raised to praise him like a god so thats what she grew up to become and thats why shes so weird like that. Imagine being raised in a cult.
Maple, during this episode you said “It’s almost like Mark is intentionally trying to get sent to the break room.” You had it figured out, you just didn’t know it yet. Just like the black paint, the “outie” subconscious bleeds over into the “innie” subconscious.
"Detectives Maple And Arriana arrive on the scene". LOL. Brilliant. I don't usually see that kind of thing in your edits, very funny, Ok, it's all smooth sailing from here.
The reason that other woman didn't remember Mark's sister from the birth facility, has a lot to do with her husband being a champion of severance in the articles the sister was reading.....
Yeah I feel like this was obvious like presumably she switches to her severed self to go through the process of labour so the "real" her doesn't have to feel and experience the pain of childbirth. Pretty fucked up
@@doodlefisher234 Honestly it's not ALL that different than the current state of general anesthesia as I understand it, when you're under it's totally possible you're entirely aware but paralyzed, feeling all the trauma and pain of a surgery BUT the specific chemicals they administer make it impossible for your brain to form memories of it. You can go through the most horrific painful surgery, like sawing bones, and feel it all, but if you don't REMEMBER you felt it, DID you actually feel it? It's a metaphysical question. Like with an epidural, the physical process of labor still happens, but the pain is blocked...so DID it actually hurt? Does pain you have but don't feel count as pain?
@@RobertMorgan well in this case if you’re creating essentially a new conscious being, which is (in the fictionalised universe of this show at least) literally just brought into the world to experience pain before being taken out again, then yep pretty fucked up because presumably she can do that whenever she’s going to experience something she knows will be physically and/or emotionally painful
@doodlefisher234 I think she switched to her severed self at least a few weeks (if not months) before she went into labor. When Devon gets coffee from her, she is clearly not in labor and is the picture of serenity (aside from the annoyance of Devon's intrusion). Also, the fact that the severed her believes she has the baby's name picked out and is also not freaking out about being pregnant lends credence to the idea that more/most of her pregnancy was experienced by her severed person.
Asking to be severed so you don't remember the pain of childbirth is wild to me. I mean, I guess I can understand (as much as a man can understand) but it's one of the most amazing moments in life. She really must trust her senator husband. He could technically switch her memory off anytime he wants now.
can you explain to me the switch or trigger for a childbirth sever? I cant figure out if its like birthing pains or the pregnancy or her husband that would trigger her "innie".
Unrequested Fan Advice: I haven't watched the channel in over a month because you've dedicated to multiple series that I personally don't have any interest in. Nothing wrong with that, I don't expected to be catered to, but might be a good idea to pepper some one-off movies in the line-up?

Unironically sounds like a dope rock band name
That's why i watch the channel. I get too fat on regular Jesus.

I really love the choice to write the book with the inner voice of Zoolander.
Which Ben Stiller was in...

it's the only outside non-lumon info the innies have ever seen after all!

The writing on Ricken’s book is so brilliant-laughable in the context of the outie world and so important as a source of ideas for the innies.
Saw 2x06 in the thumbnail and thought I missed a new season drop!
Oh crap!
Sadly, we're likely several months away from season 2 dropping.
@sloganharry I could deal with that. Other shows are taking so much longer for their 2nd season to drop, like Invincible.
@sloganharry Maybe even later now that strikes are delaying things

@nadeeml9276 i am chad. this is my channel, Diegesis. I contracted the girls to do the reactions.

We have both watched Troy❤
Steal it....!!! Jajajaja
Episodes 4 & 5 & 6 kinda started to lose me but 7 & 8 won me back big.
