@@TheOmnicPostHey, I appreciate your content! I would really like it if you also covered Marvel Rivals a bit. It's a great game, and I think it has a bright future ahead
Somewhat, yes. The mode is better fitting with two+ tanks in general, so you see this even in 5v5 open queue. They need to keep making adjustments to it, and flashpoint.
Clash already takes too long if both teams are somewhat evenly matched especially when capping the last point. Adding an extra player is probably going to make it longer
I think the new ranked reward will be an "animated space-themed texture," similar to the camos in COD BO6. It would be cool to see something other than just a shiny solid color accent on the gun.
"Jade" didn't even look like jade. It would have been dope if it had a rocky green texture to it, but nope. Their "jade" just looks like cheap shiny green metal you'd find if you went to look at swords in the creepy/cheap asian store in the deepest corner of the mall.
"Out of this world" I swear if this means we get weapon skins with the SAME space star texture map they've been using (and abusing) since the Sheep Orisa skin, I'mma groan.
I actually like the space star texture map, I think it looks really cool. I honestly would want it on more heroes, especially some heroes that I actually play
Imagine if Torbjorn got a (slight) rework where his turret shot projectiles instead of hitscan, and consequently did more damage. It would lower his effective area denial range since enemies further away could just walk to the side and, even with it locked on, the projectiles' travel time would mean they would miss, but it would also be more effective at defending a small/enclosed area, taking down barriers, and threatening tanks. Just some food for thought.
That would totally ruin it's anti aerial capabilities. Although his turrets have low health, the hitscan shot makes a well placed turret a small counter for flying heroes.
The next 6v6 test after Min1 Max3 ends will be OW Classic, which will have the old versions of the OG characters. I think it starts after the 18th or whenever the next season starts.
I think they got rid of uppercut because it's how many Doomfists would get easy kills on players by shooting them as they floated in the air with no way to move. That said it made him so much more interesting to play and I'd love it back if they made it more counterable for the enemies trapped in it.
We don't need abilities like that again. Venture is annoying enough, but full on vertical displacement feels awful and genuinely helpless to play against.
@ They made it way less oppressive before they removed it. For a while, you were basically stunned, but then they made it to where it was just a knock up, and could move your body on the x-plane and use movement abilities. So I don't think it's any more oppressive than a Wrecking Ball slam. It was just the combination of lethality he had with it, but they can always adjust some numbers, especially since his tank form is less lethal without empowered punch.
I’m glad that they’re doing a comp 6v6, but it’s a little sad because I kinda hate playing comp. I hope they put the 6v6 role queue in the arcade during this time, just for the fun of it.
Clash needs to be removed completely. It is an awful game mode and can't be fixed. It is INTENTIONALLY designed to make the winning team LOSE by giving the defending team an insurmountable defensive advantage. It basically takes all the worst parts of Assault and amplies it 100 times over. When the best way to win a mode is to deliberately lose the first point to gain a defenders advantage all game, you know you've made a terrible game mode.
all i ask of them is a tank of the wayfinder group who is a paleontologist (someone who digs up dinosaur bones etc) imo this could give some great interactions with venture
Whats happening with the match maker? tried queuing last night and 3 mins counting just canceled and went back to rivals. Tried it again after an hour and over mins, I just canceled and called it a night.
Cosmic/galaxy will be the new weapon camo. That’s what I think because lately Blizzard seems to be testing cosmic/galaxy on skins recently. If this is the case I’m going to be so happy!
This is their make or break moment. An underwhelming next season and roadmap won't necessarily be the end of OW2, but it will mark the beginning of the end if the game isn't substantially better by the end of the year. Valve's TF3-esque competitor comes out this year too, and an animated series based on Marvel Rivals lore is also runored. The age of playing it safe with OW2 should be over, whether team 4 likes it or not.
I honestly think the "out of this world" comment can be taken literally for the next comp weapons. I think, with the release of the celestial skins, they're gonna make some sort of star pattern, or maybe something that changes based on your angle of viewing (like a minecraft end portal).
Overwatch is not in a spot where "teaser of an teaser" is a viable option, people already left the game, every second you generate expectation is a second the competition only gets stronger. You should release news that bring back players NOW, not in a month where the competition is already releasing content. Marvel Rivals only grows stronger as blizzard sells smoke.
i've got my tin foil hat on now because i hadn't even considered talents/skill trees as the update for all the heroes but now i really hope thats it! different abilities for the same heroes would absolutely rock!

when both your team and the enemy team are really good, clash becomes torturous. its not about steamrolls. its more about prolonged fights that never seem to end, imo.
I’m so curious to see if they do rework ramattra, imo ram feels so awkward in 6v6 at times and his ult is kinda meh in 6v6 as well. I only use it to buy time or to live long. Idk just feels off playing ram in 6v6.
"We've got an amazing new weapon variant to collect in 2025 that will be OUT OF THIS WORLD" I've been saying for a couple of months that the new weapon variant will be celestial or galactic, THIS MIGHT BE TRUE AFTER ALL LMAO
Make characters more unique Your telling me there is an chance my boy Torb can get an proper rework that brings him back to his builder routes but keep all the improvements his rework gave him HELL YEAH!
Yeah, his old kit was unique with having to pick up scrap, but that could easily be reworked into a meter filled with something like damage instead of a resource, and focused entirely on building and upgrading your turret instead of splitting it with the armor packs he used to have. His current E ability makes him more flexible and capable without his turret, and I don't see any reason why his ult should change.
Flashpoint is actually my favorite mode they’ve added. Push needed a billion changes before it was tolerable and clash got even more and it’s somehow still terrible. Flashpoint is just King of the Hill with less cheese strats and more flank opportunities.
@rizaadon Yeah I don't think we've gotten a single escort or hybrid map since the game launched almost 3 years ago. Even if I'm wrong, it's so little that it goes to show they forgot about escort/hybrid entirely. It's the best mode in the game. It's just more push and control-esque modes and maps we're getting.
I wish clash played more like TF2's attack/defend mode, instead of scoring points to win and having long capture times, there would be a constant back-and-forth between different parts of the map until one team scores all five points. It would be different from the push mode, since you could have the option to send one member of your team to try and backcap while the enemy is trying to capture your held point, either they succeed and the enemy team has to retreat, or the weaker frontline means the enemy can push up further.
My only problem with that is that they aren't doing all of these crazy tests to make 5v5 work. If they can address 5v5 properly then I don't think anyone would be too upset that they'll never change the format to 6v6. We wouldn't need 6v6 if 5v5 worked as they intended it to. If they can't ever make 5v5 work then they have to switch, admitting their mistake. We all make those sometimes. The only question is how much longer is that gonna take them to realize?
5:30 how tf can you not decipher which point is which.. the game literally tells you where the points are on clash (i hate the capture speed but its understandable)

Shame they are removing the clash mode. I wish they wouldn’t do this, as it’s not unplayable. Hopefully it comes back with Paris and horizon lunar colony too… surely
Bit dramatic to remove clash completely from Comp 😮 I hope it doesn’t take them too long to bring it back. Also how switched off do you have to be not to know which point is active 🤦♂️ 😂 Oh I wish I got to face those people
honestly I want one of the big changes to be adding footstooling to the game, being able to jump on someones head. It can stun enemies (and not stun tanks) for cool combo's, it will put more movement into the game so dive will be stronger but also is an escape option if a diver is too close to the target.
Im done trusting Blizzard ever again. They had years to fix OW and instead released a garbage sequel soley for monetization, and now that another popular hero shooter is out theyre trying to backtrack. Too late im already sold on Rivals and never touching OW again
Rank, weapon skins, they are still trying to make us forget about 6v6. So nothing as always.............. R.I.P Overwatch, you had one last-last chance
I'm extremely excited for February 12th. I've been hearing talks that some of the PvE writers have been re-hired, and I'm holding out against all hope that it's possibly Archives making a return.
I was thinking the new weapon skins would be diamond but blizzard like their wordplay, after the 'out of this world' comment, I wonder if they're going to have a star effect, similar to the cosmic skins
More excited for the skin, hoping it has some purple hints. Glad to see 6v6 only accounted for 10%, am 100% against them shifting the main format to 6v6. But they can replace open queue and be the side mode for the casual players.
10% is actually a significant quantity considering quick play doesn't give the need to grind like competitive. They probably wouldn't have swapped straight to 6v6 without balancing the characters appropriately for the mode, especially considering the huge overhaul they will be announcing Feb 12th, hopefully being a talent system. So the 6v6 competitive season will allow them to balance the characters appropriately for 6v6, when they decide to add the mode back. Also, if they were going to leave the mode as a quick play game, they wouldn't be trying out a 6v6 competitive season. Clearly, even if they don't replace 5v5 with 6v6 entirely, 6v6 can still exist next to 5v5 as a peer, having both a casual and competitive playlist, which hurts nobody. Then, after a year of having 5v5 competitive next to 6v6 competitive for a year or so, they'll have a better idea if they need to choose 1 format only, or keep both formats. Knowing Blizzard and how they've balanced the game, they like to try to appease to as many different camps as possible, for the sake of holding good player-counts, which is why they said 6v6 is here to stay, but not at the expense of 5v5. That's consistent with how they do things. It would be very risky for them to just make a 5v5 to 6v6 swap so quickly, so by keeping 6v6 around for another year, people who played only 5v5 can get used to its presence, and feel comfortable with it. They have no incentive to rush the process. I'm only playing 6v6, because I think tanks dictate the team strategy for most part, and having 2 tanks greatly increase the variation of how a team can play, but I wouldn't expect everybody who is used to 5v5 to feel that way off rip.
@Eastra3 I mean I played the entirely of OW1, and still prefer OW in its current format to any iteration of OW1. I think anyone who is primarily an FPS player would share similar views. The ability to freely flank on characters that aren't Tracer/Genji and not instantly be throwing is a massive upgrade in OW2. I can go take an off angle with a support (usually Mercy) as either pharah or echo, or soj, and know that I'm not taking a massive risk. Because my team will survive that. Knowing I can play support and not have to healbot, but actually engage fight and duel. OW1 has the same problem as Rivals. Fights are too long, too much sustain and too dependant on ult synergies. Individual agency is next to none.
@@Qaadree I know where you are coming from, and many of your points are valid, but those are mostly perspectives of DPS and Support. If I'm playing tank, I prefer playing with another tank, because it makes creating space more dynamic. In OW 1, having 2 tanks didn't mean making space would be more dynamic, because tank design was poor, and dive strats were phased out, so 'Over-shield bumper cars at the choke' was the only viable way. Believe me, I haven't forgotten the sins on OW1, but with an expanded tank roster, and some of the culprits of double shield reworked, would mean that 6v6 wouldn't devolve into such boring play as double shield and bunker, which is why I quit OW1. Also, people want to complain about role passives, but I think they are necessary for 6v6, especially for DPS players, because of what you said about it in comparison to Marvel Rivals. I also do not like the over-sustain of Marvel Rivals, but OW 6v6 during the playtests were not anywhere close to as bad as Marvel Rivals in terms of sustain, because in part, I feel, the DPS role passive. So I think that playing tank is more engaging in 6v6, and that DPS, while a bit different, is even, because with two tanks, there are more ult in the game that can set up wombo combos with DPS ultimates. Like I said, with some of the tank reworks, like to Orisa, you don't have to worry about trying to break shields all day. You still have to deal with more peel from an off-tank, but your off-tank will also probably be helping you with creating kill windows as well, even your main tank if you are playing dive comp. So truly, with less obnoxious tank design, your kill windows are not any less open than they are in 5v5. Obviously flank routes will be more contested in 6v6, but whether they are contested or not really depends on the enemy team's comp. If you go on a flank with a hero that excels in 1v1, they have to be very careful who they want to put there. In most cases in OW1, the flank wasn't even challenged at the off angles on the flank route, because teams just clumped up, basically being like a herd of Triceratops against a T-rex, not to get all nerdy on you. So basically, the issue with OW1 wasn't that it had an extra player on a team, but that the balance of healing and the design of some of the tanks was awful.
I’m not sure if it’s because I played 5v5 for so long but when they brought 6v6 back it felt so chaotic and was so much harder to track everything that was going on.
@@Eastra3 Even in a DIve comp, they game was too reliant on team mates. It was far too team work oriented. As a DPS, the limited freedom was felt as soon as people realized how to optimize the game. The exact same thing has happened in Rivals. So I will hard pass, I rather be selfish and screw over the tanks, then ever have to be a cosmetic role designed exist till the tanks takes the space, IF they take the space.
@ You are correct, everyone wants to hate OW so badly that they can have the absolute perfect game and people will still play the inferior title. People LOVE to complain and LOVE to watch big things fail for some reason. The same thing will happen to Rivals in some years. They will somehow divide the community and add some of that famous NetEase monetization and some will defend it, some will hate it, and it will just get worse and worse until a new game comes along and it starts all over again.

What's funny is Clash is AMAZING in 6v6. Way less steamrolling and almost every point capture feels like an S-Tier battle.
is still awfully flawed, 4-4 theory, and the team fights that last for ever
"AMAZING" is a massive stretch. It feels better because there's an actual Tank exchange, but it's still a fundamentally flawed game mode at its core.
Somewhat, yes. The mode is better fitting with two+ tanks in general, so you see this even in 5v5 open queue. They need to keep making adjustments to it, and flashpoint.
I feel like its the complete opposite with 6v6 The fights are never ending and it makes the game mode unbearable in the format
That was what I was thinking! Imagine if it looks like the space bits on Galactic Emperor Sigma
I think they refer to it as "Celestial"
"Jade" didn't even look like jade. It would have been dope if it had a rocky green texture to it, but nope. Their "jade" just looks like cheap shiny green metal you'd find if you went to look at swords in the creepy/cheap asian store in the deepest corner of the mall.
I'm actually SUPER glad they're getting rid of Clash in comp, I feel like it was never ready for comp.
You are the best OW creator!
I missed 6v6 with two tanks. I might have to start playing OW2 again just to try it out with the new heroes and balances.
the event with 1min3max rn is a lot of fun imo
I imagine we'll see "Cosmic" weapon varients like the Galactic Sigma skin effect which was recently reused on the OWCS Cosmic skins
2:40 IF IT’S LIKE GALACTIC ISTG THAT WILL BE SO SICK
"Out of this world" I swear if this means we get weapon skins with the SAME space star texture map they've been using (and abusing) since the Sheep Orisa skin, I'mma groan.
I swear every “new” thing they add is just something they used before

I suspect the new competitive weapon skins are going to be the animated texture that the Celestial skins have.
This blog was a massive win in my books. So excited for S15 and beyond
Revamp it all. I'm up for it. Overwatch can make a come back at any time.
the number of kiriko skins is the only thing that's gonna be out of this world

That would totally ruin it's anti aerial capabilities. Although his turrets have low health, the hitscan shot makes a well placed turret a small counter for flying heroes.
They need to make platinum or diamond weapons as an alternative to gold. Seems like a no brainer by now.
Blizzard needs to bring doomfist uppercut back is was unique the only ability that make u take enemy upwards with u.

Cosmic/galaxy will be the new weapon camo. That’s what I think because lately Blizzard seems to be testing cosmic/galaxy on skins recently. If this is the case I’m going to be so happy!
2:45 this might be a stretch but i fell like we’re finally getting epic/legendary weapons which like
why did it take this long blizzard?
maybe a galaxy or star space weapon skin since its meant to be " out of this world"
At least it seems like they are trying to do things again that aren’t just monetization and that makes me mildly hopeful. Not a lot, but mildly so

Love getting my Overwatch updates from Reinhardt himself!

In what world do they remove clash before Flashpoint!???!!!
true. its been what? years? and i still hate it.
Flashpoint has its issues but is nowhere near as bad as Clash is lmao. In an ideal world all the new game modes would be removed, they're all bad.

6v6 can only really work if they commit to it and balance around that format, keeping ot there and add bandade balance wont make it good

R.I.P Overwatch, you had one last-last chance
I'm extremely excited for February 12th. I've been hearing talks that some of the PvE writers have been re-hired, and I'm holding out against all hope that it's possibly Archives making a return.
I was thinking the new weapon skins would be diamond but blizzard like their wordplay, after the 'out of this world' comment, I wonder if they're going to have a star effect, similar to the cosmic skins
please please please please lket it be that they're making cassidy more mobile!!!!! PLEEEEAASEEEEE!!!! My boy is too slow!!!!!!
Give Rein a Hammer Throw, Mei needs Mobility for options, Tracer though fine needs a little spiceness to shake it up(maybe a wall run animation).
Rein needs his fire strike damage buffed to two shot again
Underwhelming
You're an npc
Are you referring to the size of your wang?
I feel like no matter what they add/ change it won’t matter .
