I saw this 35 years ago and could never figure out what it was. I was amazed as a kid, and today, 35 years later, with some help from Reddit, I finally get to watch it again. A wholehearted thanks for posting this video
this is the only episode whose title remained scorched deep into my memory. Alamo Jobe. i have no idea at that time what it means and thats was 33~35 years ago. i am now 41 and thankful i found this gem again.
Here's an amazing story, the director of this episode is Michael Moore ! No, not "Bowling For Columbine" Michael Moore but much older (and now deceased) Michael D. Moore. They called him Mickey and he was born in 1914 and passed away in 2013 at age 98 !! He was a child actor in silent movies and became a director, assistant director, second unit director and also had a couple of associate producer credits, "The Thief Who Came to Dinner" (1973) and "Quest For Fire" (1981). His resume is extensive starting in 1919 as a child actor in "The Unpainted Woman" up to the year 2000 as second unit director on "102 Dalmatians." He was an assistant director on seven Elvis movies and his first directing credit is the Elvis movie "Paradise, Hawaiian Style" (1966). This episode of Amazing Stories, "Alamo Jobe" (1985), is his last directing credit. His credits as a second unit director are impressive, here's a partial list ... 1969 - Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid 1970 - Patton 1975 - Rooster Cogburn 1975 - The Man Who Would Be King 1977 - Airport '77 1981 - Raiders of the Lost Ark 1983 - Never Say Never Again 1984 - Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom 1985 - National Lampoon's European Vacation 1989 - Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade 1989 - Ghostbusters II 1992 - Chaplin 1993 - The Three Musketeers 1996 - 101 Dalmatians 1998 - Wrongfully Accused 2000 - 102 Dalmatians Amazing career plus married twice with 2 daughters; 5 grandsons; 4 great-grandchildren. RIP Michael D. "Mickey" Moore. October 14, 1914 Vancouver, B.C. March 04, 2013 Malibu, California -
Interesting stuffs you've provided us. Davey Crocket looks like the guy that was in The Last Crusade that gives River Phoenix the hat in the opening Gambit.
The guy playing Davy Crockett is the archeologist that gave Indiana Jones his fedora as a teenager in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. “You lost today kid, but that doesn’t mean you have to like it.” The guy playing Will Travis was Mac from Adam-12. Reed and Malloy’s Sergeant. (Travis was actually a young man of 27). He also played a policeman in Star Trek: The Next Generation episode Time’s Arrow Part 2 when he picked up that Riker was impersonating an officer.
and the guy playing the Cashier (Rob Paulsen) is the voice of Raphael on the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Yakko and Pinky on Animaniacs, and Carl Wheezer from Jimmy Neutron!
@@arthurswanson3285 That's the vibe I get from a lot of Amazing Stories episodes. They feel like Spielberg's rough sketches that he couldn't quite get coherent enough to make into actual movies.
My mom wasn't a fan of to much modern entertainment her heroes were Maureen O'Hara and John Wayne. Old Westerns and their heroes. I was so excited she wanted to see this episode. We were all in the living room then.
In the end, after he completed his mission and went back inside - there was a plaque in modern times with the names of the fallen. His name was on it. But the name I remember for the episode was "The Mission"
Loved watching this as a kid - especially since Kelly was a friend. MIss Summer days on his family's X77 ranch and doing Little Britches rodeo in Colorado.
It's tear jerking for the great grandson of John lepperts to meet actual living history, if only for a brief moment.this is what I remember when I watched it for the first time.
Great show. Wish the recording was better quality. Too much glare from a TV screen and it looks like someone was wearing glasses that also reflects on the screen.
Yes. The John Wayne Alamo Village near Brackettville, TX is still around but it has been closed to the public in the past 10 years due to ownership changes on the ranch where it is located. I was fortunate to be able to visit about 18 years ago. They got as many tourists as the real Alamo
If I'd come from the Alamo era, where women were wearing prairie dresses and saw a hottie, wearing shorts on roller skates,im not going back no gd where.Im staying right thar,to see more.
I'm from the great free state of Texas. LOL Some 9 years before Texas became a state. Texas was a Republic in 1836, That is some lazy historical research. Actually a rather lazy script all around. Like a bunch of middle schoolers wrote it.
Interesting, but feel like "The Twilight Zone" could've done a more interesting job with the ending that would've had Jobe fulfilling something of greater importance.

Wow
I remember watching this when I was a kid. Jobe is basically a time traveler who makes sure the letter is received so history is correct.
The guy playing Davy Crockett is the archeologist that gave Indiana Jones his fedora as a teenager in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. “You lost today kid, but that doesn’t mean you have to like it.”

and the little kid who gives him a drink of root beer is Brian Tanner from ALF
@@backwoodsbrian2259 yes! I caught that too! Alf and Amazing Stories were both on NBC
This is one of the most interesting and wonderful Amazing Stories episodes!!
Premise is ok but the execution was trash. I was underwhelmed by this story back in the 80s as a kid. It just wandered without resolution.
Probably

He arrived in a great decade the 80’s!!!

This was one of my favorites I’m so glad I found it and Kelly Reno is my home town Pueblo ❤
I fell in love with this episode
This was a good series when I was a teenager I remember this one.
Great story Kelly Reno is from the same town I am from Pueblo. CO :)
In the end, after he completed his mission and went back inside - there was a plaque in modern times with the names of the fallen. His name was on it. But the name I remember for the episode was "The Mission"

How is Kelly doing these days?

Excelente peliculas brother , seria genial si las puedes subir dobladas al español .gracias
could you please I like this TV series too much will you please make full screen and HD video
probably not, it could be caught by a copyright-seeking bot
He travel back to the future but were is Marty and Doc Brown?
Great episody❤️
I really hate time displacement. It can happen any time.
The part where the Black Guy randomly robs him is so dumb. Legit thought the was gonna go after him, but then he remembered his mission...
Why is it cloudy. I can't watch it like this.
Great show. Wish the recording was better quality. Too much glare from a TV screen and it looks like someone was wearing glasses that also reflects on the screen.
hiding from the copyright bots
Well he did his mission
Is at set of the alamo is still around?

all that riding through the park...did James Cameron rip it off for True Lies? :)
Yes don't point guns at people
If I'd come from the Alamo era, where women were wearing prairie dresses and saw a hottie, wearing shorts on roller skates,im not going back no gd where.Im staying right thar,to see more.
Please re-upload the episodes without the cloudiness.
I remember this
I approve of this message about...
Que triste, esta muy reducido.
Es mejor que nada

now i understand why the mexicans lost so many territories.
That is another history
EUA have the comminment to teach spanish in the territory lost or lose the territory.
Interesting, but feel like "The Twilight Zone" could've done a more interesting job with the ending that would've had Jobe fulfilling something of greater importance.
Nice ride
If my ma was there she'd throw axes and knives.
the young men was dead if the history was real.
doesn't seem so, since the man with rake, who points him towards the Alamo was (I'm assuming, since Reno played him, too) a descendent of his
First 11 minutes are good, the rest of the episode is not
Primitiver, unlogischer und witzloser geht es wirklich nicht.
why this TV series amazing stories have no full screen no HD why
Love the series Can you please make it full, screen
Under Copyright to NBC/Universal, you need to pay $1.99 here on UA-cam to watch it in full screen/HD/and without the white lensflash.
3rd episode and so far a very unrealistic drama, kinda childish. Was hoping for ghouls and vampires and supernatural stories. Can't watch anymore...
Bad quality not enjoyable
I love dark sci fi... family friendly sci makes me wanna puke... religion made stephen king puke out so much garbage
is nosense, why he travel in time? whats the point?
The answer is 90's rocks
