    That was a whole lot of 3D design. I love when they can be used for practical purposes.

    I've thought of that before but never thought someone would make a print to do that! Definitely a great video, even if you're not the first to do it.

    I don't have access to a 3d printer or a foundry and never make use of the things you do in your videos but man I really enjoy every awesome video you make!
    Please keep making more videos.

    Sir, This was a great project, as usual resulting in product that was not only functional, but also beautiful. However, the most impressive part was that even your "filler" video showed ingenuity and skill beyond the ability of most viewers! Well done, and enjoy your weekend! Thanks!

    The NT-USB can also be used as a 'room mic' for instruments and voice, so the 15cm from your mouth may not matter as much as you might think. If you're using it for spoken voice audio recording, though, there could be minor issues with based on the material you used for the cage, and the fact that you've adjusted how far the pop filter comes out, so maybe try to get as close as you can to the filter with this setup. Even on newer videos, I find your mix a bit echoey for my taste. You have a naturally soft vocal tone, so I think you should absolutely leverage that.

    Great job! It's a good thing you had so many spare hairbands! Really cool 3D printing elements as well, though the whole thing looks like it works very well :)

    Clearly that was a very creative, clever and innovative idea. It must have been a blast to do. Unfortunately the result is one of the most sleekly designed usb microphones now looking like it's stuck in cheap packaging, or perhaps a south american prison.

    Nice build. Are you going to share the 3d models with us?

  • @Sawta

    Very nice! Question though: could the plastic on the pop filter have been melted and molded to strech farther, or would the filter then be too low for the mic? I like the solution you used, but wonder if a simpler answer couldn't have been found.

    Nice one! Did you consider integrating the USB cable in the arm where the power cable used to be?

    • @BlackBeardProjects
      @BlackBeardProjects  6 років тому

      Yes, but the usb-B port is too big to pass through so I could have cut the wire but then I wouldn't be able to move the microphone out of the boom arm anymore! Definitely doable :)

    Could you have used the power cable to pull through the cable for the microphone to hide it ?

    • @BlackBeardProjects
      @BlackBeardProjects  6 років тому

      Yes, if I cut the microphone cable somewhere. The usb-B cable port was too big to pass through otherwise!

    I'm looking for a solution to hold my kindle, I so lazy it would be nice to just have it in front of me without any effort. I think the links like you see in a gorilla pod would be the best.

    No estoy en contra de los DIY, pero teniendo en cuenta que un brazo para el micrófono vale unos 14-15€ en amazon, no creo que merezca la pena el trabajo y el tiempo invertido para transformar una lampara >NUEVA< en un brazo articulado, si lo hubieras hecho usando materiales que tuvieras por casa, sin usar, hubiera tenido algo mas de sentido, pero no destrozando una lampara nueva para que quede así
