Yes, always negotiate Driver Assist fee ($200). Ask for it specifically if they need your driver to touch the freight/assist with unloading. OTR loads are normally considered “no touch” freight.
Definitely wouldn't have bothered myself with a load heading towards Florida. Also 1.86 isn't bad with the rates today especially for a box truck. Mind you my broker pays $3 a mile but we can't expect the same from load boards since we havnt formed that broker to carrier relationships. None of those loads were worth it to begin with therefore negotiating them would have been a waste of time if you were serious. You and I pretty speak at the same rate lol my thing I like to say is "that won't even cover a full set if I chip a nail" I usually get the load after they finish laughing. Soften them up!
Excellent information and review of the software! I am just getting started so I really appreciated the "elementary" part of the video! Looking forward to learning more from you, such good energy!!
Chrissy ,Do you have any input on how to deal with a disgruntled broker that has placed a freight guard on my mc ? They said we were double brokering .I am a single O/O with one truck and this has hampered my chances of booking anything .I have just secured a route but not sure how long this will last and in case I need to get back otr and book loads would like to have this removed. The dispatcher and I ha e reached out to this broker multiple times. The manager had promised and assured us he was going to have this removed and has not .The fact that these brokers can do this is a disgrace .Thanks in advance
Hey Donald, that’s a great question. If you have a Contract with a shipper you won’t have to use a broker. If you know shippers or warehouses in your area, I say visit and see if you can connect with loads that way. On the Loadboard you will always book with a broker
@The Boxtruck Couple As always your insight and information that you give me is always a blessing and very helpful to me. So if I may ask the both of you, how long have yall been in the game and do you a second truck? God bless

Lawyer time they are costing you money. Time to use the lawyer and flex 💪 and watch how fast they move.
Good morning . I just finished watching a lesson in negotiation. My question for you as a owner operator is do you have to use a broker?

OK. I think I'm gonna start slow and work myself in with a broker when the time comes.
@@donaldmines2177 Brokers is the way to start out. Work your way into non brokers. If you’d like to chat set up some time. www.boxtruckcouple.com
And again I thank you both for using your platform to help others trying to get this money. I applaud you both 👏.
