I was thinking about Nonna Pia today. I made braciole. Ok, we both just got over Covid here and wanted something good. I was exhausted after I got done cleaning the kitchen. I don't know how she does it! I adore her. My Mom and her sisters are all gone. All made it into their 90's, my aunt, 98! I feel like I lost my Italian side.I'd love to give her a hug!

She was likely born sometime in the 30s and he refers to “when she was in Italy” so my guess is she came after WWII which was not a large number of Italians. Thank you for memorializing this because she truly does represent a special group of women who have mostly passed on. Her improvisational cooking is the essence of that group of great women.
