Although Love Recipe isn’t as exciting or long as Funny Love, the show does go more in depth about their relationship. Garu became softer and more tolerant of Pucca’s antics, Pucca’s shown a little discipline and self control when with him(a little, she still chases him), and they both seem to enjoy each other’s company when together. Also, I love the details in Love Letter when Garu receives Pucca’s love letter. It does show that he does seem to have feelings for her, even if some don’t want to admit it.
FOR REAL! Funny Love was peak for it's time I have to admit haha. Definitely there is character growth to be seen

Thank God that the new series of Pucca shows Garu more caring for her, unlike the original series, that Garu doesn't look much of a tsundere rather he actually dislike Pucca.
Here you can see so much progress and dynamic, that's why I love this series so much

P.S.
If anyone is curious how things changed so much, well if they ever make a Pucca movie, it would have the following: the antagonists that weren’t there in the prequel season (The Vagabond Ninja Clan, Doga, and Muji) get’s introduced, Sooga Village gets leveled (most likely from Dong King), Pucca’s uncles, Master Soo, and Dandy have a moment together where Dandy ultimately leaves the island, Pucca and Garu were tasked by Master Soo to find the goblins to rebuild Sooga village anew, the destruction of Sooga village traumatizes Dada to wet himself when he is frightened/embarrassed and makes Chang to forget why Ching needs Won with her, other characters introduced in season 3 leaves Sooga Island, and Sooga village is rebuilt by the goblins in the way we see Sooga village in season 1 & 2

I love how in the first seasons every time Pucca wanted to kiss or hug Garu she ALWAYS had to chase him, but in this season he just sighs and lets Pucca kiss or hug him, he doesn't even try to escape LMAOOO, they're so inlove
I agree! Despite me liking the earlier seasons with the 2D-style animation, i think they potrayed Garu a bit wrong in those seasons.
Before having a tv series, Pucca & Garu was actually a South Korean flash animations & mainly characters for postcards(?), and i believe it's being stated clearly that they are a couple. Garu is supposed to be Pucca's shy boyfriend who hates/embarassed of doing public affection.
After getting a tv series made by Jetix, they potrayed Garu as a guy who avoids Pucca at all cost, almost like he's not her boyfriend at all. Thankfully, the 3rd season (which is made in South Korea), they fixed it & make Garu visibly more accepting of Pucca's behaviour of doing public affection with him despite him not really enjoying it lol.

I understand why people don’t like the reboot but it’s actually good cause it shows how Garu and Pucca are both a bit more closer.

@@Silly_kid_gachaRing Ring in the previous seasons didn't have a crush on Garu but only would flirt with him to antagonize Pucca. This season tends to try to add a bit of spice with some mixed results. Previously, Ring Ring was likable (as Pucca's rivalry) in her respective way. She was sassy, short-tempered, conceited etc... but on some occasions remorseful. So this new season is a pretty drastic change and re-establishes herself as a different character with different objectives as Pucca's antagonist.
It's SOOOOO adorable how Garu takes more care of Pucca than the last seasons.

How did I stumble into this series again
I’ll be honest, I think Love Recipe was a much better route for the series than Funny Love. In the original, their relationship felt rather unnatural, as Garu was constantly trying to flee from Pucca without a moment of peace, not to mention how overbearing Pucca was then. Don’t get me wrong, Pucca still has her moments in this series, but they’re much less common, and, unlike in Funny Love, Garu actually seems somewhat receptive towards her.
Also, I don’t know if this is just me, but I don’t consider Love Recipe as a Season 3. There are too many disparities between it and the original. Sooga Village is now on an island instead of in the mountains. Ring Ring didn’t know who Garu or Pucca were in the first episode. Don King is introduced. Characters like the Vagabond Trio, Moji, and Doga are all absent. The show is written like it takes place in an alternate timeline. It’s really more of its own series than a continuation.
