Forts is a physics-based RTS where foes design and build custom bases, arm them to the teeth and blast their opponent's creations to rubble.
Build an armoured fort in real-time and arm it to the teeth. Collect resources, develop your tech-tree, unlock advanced weapons to target your opponent's weak points, and feel the satisfaction as their fort comes crashing down.

I imagine that every time Incursus plays Forts his opponents are like "what shenanigans am I up against this time?"
note that he is using a stealth username [Isosceles]. He used "Archimedes" as an alias a few times too.

I went against him once. I was still very new with under 5 hours game time. I didn't play the campaign.
I got slammed so hard with some crazy mod shit. All I remember was some sort of food slamming onto me from above.

Finally! A little bit more pace to these non livestream Forts videos would be lovely as they are too infrequent.
But some are better than none in any case.
Ya I dont necessarily dislike that he does streaming but I prefer his more solo style commentary where he's just playing the game and not worrying about chat and whatnot.
@@anothisflame8266 That is one thing, the other is the editing that we get to see the enemy fort collapsing / kill shot.

Combing through the livestreams just isnt even close to the same quality. Keep these up!
20mm cannon's buff was quite necessary, because back then, the damage was way too weak from the spread. Now that the devs improved the damage per bullet, 20mm cannons are actually viable again. That damage buff is also why Scattershot didn't get the +2 bullets for his 20mm cannons, because the playtesters thought it was WAY too OP, even if shield-spamming is involved.
Just started playing forts for the first time recently and I can't get enough of the speed and elegance of this guy's base design, build order and execution. I'm lucky if my base doesn't collapse on itself for FSM's sake.
Yeah, probably those hotkeys helped him a lot with his building speed.
I would love to see a nuclear missile rush with this commander since they are invisible until they fire and they make no sound with the active ability
You would still see the walls being go-through probably. If no walls and no mines then it would also rise suspicon.
Inferior to Pinchfist double-nukes with smoke and shotguns.

what you can do is build a visible mine that you then cover with structure in that location first and an unusable hidden missile launcher in the interior of your base and later swap them

To be honest, 20mm and phantom looked like a legit strategy, since she can fit more than other commanders, and they're cheaper to build than cannons...

The problem is forts and such are an EXTREMELY small niche that not many people are aware of or interested in. But this is a great channel with amazing content and definitely deserves all the support and love it can get!

Watching Incursus play inspired me to play Forts, but then I was too intimidated to actually learn. The logical process he applies to his gameplay makes it look straightforward, but I realized that without a lot of practice doing a build order and adapting it to your opponent under pressure is a real challenge to the inexperienced RTS player. Or maybe I just don't take to it naturally. But the real deterrent isn't learning, it's being trash talked the entire time while figuring it out.
3 years late to the party, but mb this'll help someone who's reading this later. As an RTS fan, I strongly advise you to first try playing the campaign, no matter the RTS you're playing. It's a much better learning experience, it's very fun, and for a lot of players, it's the main way to play. This'll teach you the basic mechanics and hotkeys.
Once you feel like trying out PvP, I strongly recommend watching a tutorial video first - something that explains a simple, up-to-date build order. And then you find a comfy, stress-free way to practice said build order. E.g., I like to start up an empty match with no opponents and just practice folowing the build order. Or you could add a very easy bot - main thing is, start in a stress-free environment where it's easy to concentrate. Once you've got the hang of it, move on to the ladder - but be prepared that it won't be easy, you'll pro ably be like 50% slower, and do way more mistakes bc of the added pressure, and bc your opponent will probably try to throw you off with early rushes, cheese, harassment, etc.
Last time I was this early T3s were a new thing.
And forts didn't fly.. oh w8 no grav and cannon boosters...

Remember Incursus, you don't need to right click and click the button. You can simply left click, hold, and drag to move devices :) However you can run into some issues when placing.
Awesome, love these shorter vs matches. Not so keen on the extended livestreams as don't have the time.

Yes!!! More of these videos please. Too many streams lately. It's a lot more fun to watch you go against weaker opponents and use interesting strategies that aren't necessarily top tier. All your streams you're up against really tough opponents (the same ones each time... each stream....) and thus the strategies are the same. It gets old tbh. This video was a great return to your old style. I'm sure many others would agree that more of these vids are what we'd love to see!
