Congratulations on the 150 th episode. A beautiful presentation from the master cook and his trusted video companion. I'm definately going to try this soon.
Yay on your 150th!! This looks very simple and delicious. Plan on trying it out, soon. Also, couldn't agree more about having an electric skillet. I have three (imagine that) that I use for a variety of things. Cheers!
Hey Kev and Ralph, great video. I will definitely try this. I love your two level stove and that atomic electric skillet is da bomb. Gotta find me one those. Woot!
Karin Jeffrey Thanks, Karin!! Hope you give it a try! Keep your eye out at thrift stores or estate sales for an old electric skillet...I seem them fairly often!
I love you guys. I am polish and originally front Detroit. My family were all west siders. My mother was not a polish cook but my aunt was. She would not share her recipes although I got her cheesecake recipe with farmers cheese. I also experimented with meatloaf till I got hers. I have made some of your recipes and if I close my eyes I could be in my aunt's house. Thank you!!!
Hi Virginia! We love you for watching! Glad these recipes bring back good memories...sounds like your aunt was an amazing cook! My family was from the west side also - a big Polish community there! Thanks again!
Heather Smedley This is why we always keep a dish rag handy - seems like there's always a little mess...that's life in a busy kitchen, right!? Thanks so much for watching!
Zac Robles Thanks, Zac for the info on the capers. With some foods like capers, don't you wonder who came up with the idea of picking the buds off the plant, soaking them in salt brine and then eating them?? I'm sure it's an interesting story - food is so fascinating! Thanks again!
cavalcadeoffood I love the whole vintage look and your love of classic appliances! The modern stuff may be technically advanced but it is the old stuff that works the best and lasts forever if taken care of!
Hi Kevin and Ralph luv luv lemon chicken delish everybody should take notes you make the cooking process interesting and easy I have been making lemon chicken this way adding capers again delish keep up making videos have not seen any new ones Thanks again guys
Congrats to you both on 150 episodes! Beautiful kitchen (I haven't been in this one!) While watching you pound the chicken with the mallet, our dog Cheeto started barking thinking someone was at the door! Wish it was really you both with some finger licken' lemon chicken!
Erin Stilman Thanks, Erin!! Hope Cheeto wasn't disappointed that no one was at the door!! Thanks so much for watching, and for being a "special guest" on Cavalcade of Food!!
Hey food friend I cook it today for my pre- Anniversary dinner. We are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary April 20th. The meal was delicious. My family enjoyed it. Thank you. How have you been? Write back to you soon.
kimberly route Hi Kimberly!! Great hearing from you! All things are well here - hope things are good for you! Glad you liked the recipe and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Hope it was a beautiful celebration! Thanks so much for watching!
That looks absolutely amazing you guys. Can you use thighs and would you still have to pound them also would onions spoil the entire flavor profile of this recipe. I absolutely love your UA-cam channel, thanks for the sharing your recipe with us and I'm going to make this later this week, thanks again .......
Hi Bren - thanks for your note. Yes, you can use boneless thighs and they would be very good. I would still pound them out. This helps the chicken cook more evenly because it is all the same thickness. Add the onions and see how it comes out - I don't think they would hurt it! Thanks for watching!
Oh I just got new wire metal shelving for my back kitchen and found my ole electric skillet down in the deep recesses of my bottom kitchen cupboards, so I put all my smaller appliances on one set of these shelves. Looks good Kevin a must try for me. Just don't ya be making any deep fried food over there cause I found my deep fryer also and got it out of the cupboards and I hid that deep fryer on purpose. LOL. Hey you ever make that lemon chicken and rice soup?
***** Hi Shalimar! Now that you dug out your electric skillet you can put it to work! As for deep frying, we don't do too much of it, but croquettes are on the list ;-) I've not made chicken lemon rice soup - it is a favorite so I'll have to try one of these days! Thanks so much for watching!
This recipe is so amazing! The chicken looked SO GOOD! But...can I be honest with some constructive criticism? If you were to break the spaghetti noodles here in the Mediterranean - we would have to break your legs. LOLOLOL SORRY! It's a NO NO! Otherwise - bang up job! The capers actually come from a caper bush, or Capparis Spinosa. I have a video on how to make your own capers, and even if you are not in a climate that allows caper bushes to grow, I mention you can use the Nasturtium plant buds. You can see that video here: ua-cam.com/video/Sn1jw-cZo5E/v-deo.html Thanks again guys! LOVE your videos!
LOL!! Yes, I know that breaking the pasta is really taboo in some parts of the world!! When my mom (who was Maltese) would cook spaghetti (we usually had other kinds of pasta like rigatoni or penne) she would break it in half because she said it made it easier to eat. Although I don't think that's true (I've not had any problems eating unbroken pasta) mom always had her reasons!! :-) Very interesting video of yours on capers! We always had a jar in the fridge going up - mom would put them in a number of dishes - but I never knew what they actually were until much later. So amazing!
OMG!! Your Mum is Maltese!!!??? SO IS MINE! LOL. I live in Malta actually (born in Canada). I can't believe your Mum BROKE pasta! LOLOLOL. My Nanna was SO picky, and one time I made Maltese Rabbit Stew, and the starter is usually spaghetti with rabbit sauce....as I was cooking the pasta, I thought - Nanna won't like slurping long noodles now she is older...so I broke them!! She LOVED the recipe but clocked me...It's good Hanini, she said - but don't ever break the noodles again. LOLOLOLOL (Hashtag can never win! LOL) xox Thanks for watching my caper video! XO
Congratulations Kevin and Ralph on 150 episodes!
