Love the info vids. An exhaust shop recommended me(NA 4th gen) to just delete the muffler and weld a new Y pipe for more sound. I figured that would lose power though. Nice to know an upgrade exists.. I need to find a shop willing to delete the 2nd cat 😅 Thanks for making this video!
Just a quick question: I have personally been using the magnaflow exhaust on my 22 na awd car, and honestly, from my butt dyno, it doesn't feel like I've lost power. While the louder noise is nice, I'd rather not choke or rob my car of power. Any thoughts on this particular axel-back?
@supermazda3 Glad to hear this. Ever since I've watched your video, it's been on the back of my mind. With only 186hp I'd rather not lose more horses haha Thank you for your time, much appreciated!
Got my magnaflow axle back mostly for looks as the tips are black and follow the countour of the bumper nicely. You are right when compared to stock the pipe makes a couple bends before entering muffler . Don’t care too much about power loss cause the sauce tune more than makes up for it . The cold starts are brutal neaighbours hate it .
Thanks for another informative video. Im glad i waited on getting an exaust. My focus is to have a fast daily driver with the mazda3. upgraded turbo and downpipe is next on my list. Dont care too much for looks or sound right now. I vote for both but another informative exaust video first. Would love to know if i have to upgrade from stock turbo to a bigger one with the bigger turbo.
Definitely would like a detailed paddle shifter install tutorial. The main thing that hasn't been covered well is the wiring. Mikstore's guide is really vague.
Thanks Justin 👍 Wondering what you think of the Racing Beat power pulse axle back exhaust for NA third gen? According to their info, it was designed especially for skyactive Mazdas, and seems similar to OEM 🤔 I’m mainly looking for a bit better sound, without it being too loud… without compromising performance
Well I still have my turbo stock muffler if I wanted to go back to it. I haven’t really noticed a loss in power since having my magnaflow installed. Then again I had a tuned right after I did the modification so I couldn’t really tell either way.
@micahhill4786 Loss in power is mainly on NA models since we use the scavenging to pull air into the motor vs. you guys have a turbo to force it into the motor.
Cool stuff for NA's upgrade. On my turbo 3 I'd probably just upgrade to the LpCustom downpipe and maybe the midpipe (LP Custom or CS 80mm if it fits the stock muffler) I don't want to hear too much of the exhaust and loose the sound of the turbo/intake up front, then being too obnoxious and getting the police attention 😆😆
They cost about the same but you can't buy the Axleback separately from the CS. LP allows just the Axleback section. Personally, I'd do the LP Downpipe, Stock Midpipe with LP Axleback if i had the turbo model
I have a axle back borla exhaust , cork sport midpipe , aero performance resonator , Cork sport SRI , NGK Iridium IX spark plugs , Craven speed Aluminum Crank pulley. And a custom tune from DR racing and my car feels slower than it was stock. Idk if it's the tune , too much free air flow , reducing torque. Don't know what's the problem
Hey justin i got an na 2.5l. I heard in your vid you did a 2nd cat delete. How much hp do you gain from that? And also i have an after market k&n intake and i use the stock snorkel to get fresh cold air into the intake. I actually removed the oem restonator on the intake and i heard a sound increase but im wondering is there any down sides to doing this? To me logically removing the resonator means more air flowing into the intake quicker and more sound.
@M3garage1 No, the resonator actually helps power on NA. It is not needed for supercharger or Turbocharger but for NA it is beneficial in redirecting air when the intake valves close. If you watch my older video on how the engine operates, you will uder. As for the 2nd cat delete power gains vary based on your modifications. There is no straight answer but you will gain a few HP
@yournightmare9999 debatable, depends on your goal, prefer performance with making my neighbors angry in the morning. I found 19 different aftermarket exhaust for the 4th gen.
How do you feel about the corksport cat back for 2019 Mazda 3 2.5 N/A, it does have a V on the axel back and you said that was meh, how about the midpipe?
@@Ty45SKY mid pipe is excellent for sure and the axle back part is nice if you like the sound, and it is pretty good, it won't be a restriction on a non turbo.
@Ty45SKY if it did, don't you think i would have done it? But just be aware if you have cylinder deactivation there will be drone if you change the midpipe
It sounds like you've already determined the stock turbo exhaust is best for NA and a 2.5"/63.5mm is best for a stock turbo... The plan is still me getting an NA hatch to supplement the EV and using the Corksport 2.5" I still have from my turbo on it! (Then the exhaust is on what it originally came out for)
Question, I live in the uk, and only know a small amount about cars and and Mazda is gonna introduce the 2.5l na e-skyactiv g engine soon, would I be able to have a similar set up like yours? I know you can't with the skyactiv-x because the compression ratio is to high
@Ru5hion similar as far as what? Currently, for the NA 2.5L, I can only tune up to 2022 for the CX-30 & Mazda 3. The only 2024 2.5l that i have been able to tune is the CX5 so far.
@@supermazda3 Ah so I wanted a sedan/saloon mazda 3 but with more power and I thought with the 2.5l skyactiv g coming soon, I'd be able to do that with the supercharger kit that's available

@@supermazda3 Hey Justin, I have a question for you on here (don't wanna clog your email). Would you recommend going back to the OEM midpipe (N/A) from the CS midpipe for performance? You’re better off buying the corksport mid pipe because they deleted the cat. That’s if the exhaust shop still has the flange to connect to it.
