    Just so everyone knows. He hasn’t net any profit yet. He’s just getting that $21k profit number from the pairs he’s sold so far but since he has inventory he hasn’t sold yet he hasn’t made any technical profit yet. He’s actually negative profit atm.

    • @StayFocusedFrank
      @StayFocusedFrank  3 роки тому +1464

      Yes technically speaking but the profits from which I do get from my sold shoes is used to reinvest it, and if I were to stop buying new pairs and just sell all my inventory then that would in turn show the profit, but right now I’m constantly reinvesting

    The man still in the negative ya’ll, also, 20k-ish is like avg retail work for a year if you making around 13-15 an hour I think. And keep in mind all this is talking about before taxes. So if he doing this on the side I guess it keeps em occupied, but if its main job, then it sounds fun but keep in mind, once again, he still a bit in the red, so ya’ll can look at these big numbers but its the margins that matter most until you in the green. After that you can worry a little less, but still work to keep big ROI lol.

      working a retail job you might get a little raise if you're lucky but your income is basically capped, if you work for yourself the sky is the limit.. the harder and smarter you work, the more you can make. I went from making about minimum wage with my first business to over 150k a year and got to choose my own hours and how I wanted to do business with, which you can't do working for someone else.

    As long as the market supports folks overspending on shoes, you got yourself a business :) All the big brands love the hype because anytime they have a release they sell out and make their money and the culture continues to push that. At some point you would imagine they want to take as much of their own cut as they can. If this means re-releasing shoes constantly or providing so much stock that resellers market shrinks to nothing who knows.
    Take advantage while you can though, props to resellers becoming the car dealerships of the shoe world :)

    About $20k profit for a year is pretty decent but expenses like gas can take a good bit monthly & also holding that many sneakers if you aren’t planning on opening a store is slick risky. By the time you start selling, you’ll be spending that money faster then it’s coming in especially selling individual, even with bulk. Your profit margins getting cut & it don’t be worth holding for that long. Making sells consistently + holding helps. Either way, reselling can be fun. Keep it up.

    I’ve been reselling, restoring, and customizing sneakers for about 5 years now. I stay away from high end sneakers ( only restoration for those ). I buy shoes at Ross, Burlington, and Marshals. I make a minimum of $50 profit a shoe. The most I ever made off a $40 shoe was $350. I reinvest all my profits into buying more shoes. When I get my inventory up to 300 shoes, I average 3 shoe sales a day. Sometimes that’s $150 a day, sometimes more. $150 day (avg.) times 365 days = almost $55k a year. Now add the customized and restored shoes and I make another $20k a year. $75k a year is better than I made as a teacher with a masters degree. However, this model is not sustainable, because sourcing shoes is about consistency and luck. Your not the only one sourcing shoes. Plenty of resellers to compete with. This is a great side hustle. Not for a family man that depends on consistency.
