Apart from adding spit to the flour, this recipe looks AMAZING and will be tried.
Also, best of luck to your intern.
I hope he continues to have the best job in the world for decades to come.

This is something you do to low grade meats . . I would never insult a Prime piece of Ribeye Steak by doing this to it . I really appreciate the Juicy flavor of a Great Ribeye Steak just as it is and Grilled is Perfect JMO

You can perform exact same things on a Pit Boss smoker (it has a central flame/sear station) and have a griddle ($20 at Walmart) on one side of smoker.

I believe it's Wolfgang who says to always flour meat for browning, to get that nice seal & crust... never though to do it 4 steaks. 🤯👍

Interesting idea. It you look at the label of your flour bag, you will see 'Do not consume uncooked flour or dough'. I wasn't sure why, but they all do, so I looked it up.
The reason flour is risky to eat is that while its powdery consistency looks like it's been cooked, it's actually as much of a raw food as lettuce or carrots. Flour is made from grains that are grown in fields where they may be exposed to a variety of harmful bacteria like Salmonella and E. coli. The processing that flour goes through to convert from plant to powder doesn't kill them. And unlike lettuce or carrots, you can't wash flour to clean it. While the risk is low, it's very real. The CDC issued a warning back in 2016 after an outbreak of E. coli that sickened at least 63 people in 24 states was traced to a batch of General Mills flour sold under the brand names Gold Medal, Gold Medal Wondra, and Signature Kitchens.

Im certain these steaks were delicious. But damn nobody got time for that. A great ribeye needs salt and pepper and a chunk of butter on top right when it comes off the grill. If grilling in a pan, butter baste. I cant see myself taking this much time to prep. No dogging the idea though, as I said im certain these were dynamite.

I wouldn't call this the perfect steak. The fat doesn't look like its rendered out nicely enough. Maybe better to trim off some of the thick parts of fat a little. That's a personal opinion though and regardless I'm going to give this a try! :)
