A journey through Hamurana Springs and The Hidden Valley (Orakei Korako) | NEW ZEALAND

- Опубліковано 7 жов 2024
- When we heard from two of our viewers that there was a place which rivalled the beauty of Blue Spring Putaruru with its own natural blue spring, and a hidden valley that gave off serious Jurassic Park vibes, we knew that we absolutely had to go check both places out for ourselves!
Hamurana Springs is a nature reserve that's only about 15 mins drive from Rotorua. Orakei Korako (The Hidden Valley) is situated between Taupo and Rotorua so we booked ourselves a one night stay in Rotorua in order to check out both places.
Unfortunately after a 3 hour drive from Auckland, we were faced with the nature reserve being closed due to high winds! We didn't want to waste the sunny weather though so we did a little walk along Lake Rotorua then eventually after some Googling, we found another scenic reserve called Rainbow Mountain - Crater Lake that we thought might be nice to visit.
The crater lake is a short 15 minute, easy walk to see the pretty baby blue water with the backdrop of Rainbow Mountain surrounding it.
TIP: be sure to enter "Rainbow Mountain Scenic Reserve Carpark" into your Google Maps or GPS instead of just "Rainbow Mountain Scenic Reserve" to save yourself from getting lost like we did.
Without much time left in the day, we decided to head over to our Airbnb accommodation in Rotorua. When we arrived we found out that our host Sonia actually runs a cattery from her home so we got to meet a couple of cute cats too. Her Airbnb is clean, comfy and located very near the Redwoods Forest.

After a good night's sleep, we headed back out to Hamurana Springs the next morning. Thankfully we were very lucky and it was opened this time!
It's a lovely scenic walk, filled with lots of birds especially ducks and swans. The water is very clear and has intriguing and various shades of blue just like Blue Spring Putaruru. However some differences between Hamurana Springs and Blue Spring is that at Hamurana you can see "dancing sands" and you also have a redwood tree grove at the start.
Hamurana Springs
Address: 773 Hamurana Road, Hamurana, Rotorua 3072
Opening Hours: we recommend calling up beforehand and/or checking out their Facebook page for updates and any closures to avoid disappointment as the reserve does close if the wind is too strong: / hamuranaspringsnature
Determined to also still visit Orakei Korako in the few hours we had left, we made a super quick stop to grab a bite to eat at Wheatsheaf Bakery before zipping over to The Hidden Valley.
Wheatsheaf Bakery
Address: 200, Ngongotaha, Rotorua 3010
Hours: Mon-Sat 4am-3pm. Closed Sundays.
The Hidden Valley is a geothermal park. You take a short ferry ride across to it from the visitor centre and you're then left to go explore the whole area on your own. The place is filled with naturally colourful soil and hot pools. Steam billows from the land. Geysers shoot hot water and there's an awesome looped walking track. It definitely had some lost in time, Jurassic vibes. Just be sure to give yourself enough time to make it back before the last ferry ride of the day!
Orakei Korako
Address: 494 Orakei Korako Road, Taupo 3083
Hours: Mon-Sun 8am-4:30pm

Bahaha 🤣🤣 Yasss! Glad someone enjoyed that too aside from just us and our dry humour 🤣🐄
So so cute!!!
@@PeterandYen Oh we definitely did.😆Keep it up 👍🏼👍🏼
@@RuthandThomas 😂😂😂
LOL love Peters determination to find the trout 😂 awesome that the water is so clean and pure!!
We were looking for quite a bit 😂😂 it was cool to finally see them though! 🐟💙
Jurassic Park vibes! Great way to end off this trip. So colorful!
Really interesting landscapes and seeing it like that so hidden away was cool 🙂👍
Greetings from Brazil!! I'm planning to move to NZ and seeing how beauty and preserved the nature is get me so impressed and makes me more decided to go there! Awesome video, congratulations!!!
Why are you planning to move to NZ? What's "wrong" with Brazil? Apart from the politics I would think its an amazing place to live.
Hahaha yes I agree Brazil 🇧🇷 is an awesome country. Yen and I would love to visit there one day. But all the best with your move over to New Zealand 👍
Yes, it is an amazing place to live, the narute (but it isn't preserved and nobody cares, you can see from the news) and culture is wide, but it is hard to you have opportunities here.
I learn NZ water is always clear blue & so pure & fresh 💙 I would drink that as well!!
Hahaha yea that's true but then when you see it in person at hamurana or the one at blue spring Putaruru you'll see what insanely clear looks like lol. It's quite amazing! 😍
Yay the spring is open! The ducks at the pond remind me of one place we visited in Japan!
"2 Olympic size pool..." ah cool... "...every hour" damn, that's a lot of water!
Quite amazing huh! 😮 I was amazed too!
Omg all the cats at the Airbnb!! Hahah they are the cutest 🐱 The place itself looks awesome! You guys pick really good ones 👍
Thank you! We try haha! Glad they're almost always as pictured and as good as their reviews! 😁👍
Haha 3 2 1 mooo!!! Love that intro to the video, made me smile 😁
😂🐄🐄 glad others are enjoying it as much as we did too lolol
the hidden valley really does look like a place from the Jurassic park!
Felt like it too with hardly any other people around that day! Plus needing to take a ferry across to get to it 🙂
That blue color is so beautiful! Always suckers for water with those shades of blue
It is so pretty ay! 💙😍
Wow Jurassic Park vibe for sure, it is so amazing, and indeed the colors are magical, so dramatic
Really awesome place
It was really cool.. felt like we were in a totally different world at times and coz it was so empty, hardly any people when we went it was very peaceful! Just hear the bubbly gurgling sounds of the water and mud.. at the cave part just total silence. Fave was def the views from the Artist's Palette though! 😍😍
Holy crap, ramp up the speed - that boat looks like it's drifting! Love the hot spring view with the foresty background.
Hahahaha cool effect ay 😎👍🚤 it was such an awesome place! Being there in person felt like some lost world!
What a bonus to chill with all those cute cats! 😻
They were lil cuties! 😁🐈💕
Those Redwoods and the clarity of the water are the definition of "majestical". (a little quote from our favorite NZ movie) -- but also the jet streams are so unique. I have never seen anything like that! Crazy.
Us too with those dancing sands! Peter was able to get close to the water and stick our GoPro under to get that great view 😍
Another great video. I love how seasoned travellers, you guys just roll with glitches. :)
Haha just gotta make the most of any situation and roll with things in times like those! Thanks Daryl 😁👍✌️
Thank you Peter& Yen ,That Tourist spot is extradinary. The Redwoods where beautiful, also the springs. It's amazing the colors you see, When your close to volcanic activity. Good to see your ok , Take care.
Thanks P Trevino! ❤️ So many beautiful places and natural wonders huh! Just amazing all the different colours too 😍😍
You got your revenge the next day! And wow it really looks like it was worth the wait - so beautiful with those redwoods and peaceful vibes with the ducks
So glad it was opened the next day! There were all these baby ducks, baby swans and even baby chickens running about in the car park lol. It was a lovely reserve 🙂💕🦆
Mud pool 😆 i challenge yen to try the new "bubble tea" 😂 NZ is so blessed with nature wonders like the geothermal pools 🙌🏻
Hahahaha they should sell a bubble tea there and name it mud pool plus make it that colour.. then I'll try it 🤣🤣👍
So used to seeing Peter review food, but this may have been the first ever water review 😂. Yen also approves!
Hahaha nah he reviewed the Blue Spring Putaruru water too lol. He just seems to like drinking these clear spring waters straight from the spring but now I can understand why! 😁👍
Nice Airbnb guys
wow that is a lot of water, 2 Olympic pools, wow
The images are so cool of the underwater yes it is like they are dancing
Really beautiful and totally worth the $18
Yea! Really cool ay.. I've never seen that dancing sand before! You can see it from above but we asked if we could go down and stick our GoPro in the water and they said all good lol 👌👍 made for that really cool side on view!
Nothing better than getting great suggestions based on your videos. Followers know best. Oh no, that sucks it was closed, but kudos to you guys for thinking on your feet. It's always good to have a plan b. Staying next to a cat hotel is a nice perk after a long day. That redwood forest reminds us of California. So beautiful. Oh man, there's like a mini version of Orakei Korako here in Colorado. But this park looks soooo cool.
We love getting suggestions from our viewers!! ❤️ There's been a couple of places where we never even heard of coz it's probably just not marketed much domestically so it's always awesome discovering new awesome places to check out 😁👍 Thanks yea definitely couldn't waste the day away! The redwoods are such impressive trees ay? Ooo what's the Colorado place called that looks like Orakei Korako? Would be great to visit there one day too 🙂
Awesome episode, I can't wait to see more
Thanks Thu! Plenty more to come 😁❤️
The springs looks amazing and I take a drink of it too...
So fresh! 😁👍💙 Just like the Putaruru blue spring too..
The beginning really did crack me up I was not expecting that 😂😂😂
Hahahah neither was I when Peter first showed me 😂🐄🐄🐄
Yep things dont go as planned but always still Stay POSITIVE ❤ Just enjoy the journey, it's worth it 😊
💯 exactly 😊👍
I spot the cherry blossoms 🤩
Yea! Those were just random ones along the road too! Was so nice to see them scattered about! There's not many out in Auckland just yet coz we've been having not great weather but managed to see a little on Sat at a botanic garden 😁👌🌸🌸🌸
Hey Peter and Yen!! So fabulous to see you guys and you always take us to places we've never seen before. Love you're checking another Geothermal spot today. Booo.. it's closed to high winds! We did the same thing in Hawaii trying to get to one of the volcanic craters LOLOL!! We didn't make it! It's great you made it there regardless. That lake is magical looking from that lookout. We love seeing all those cats at the cattery where your Airbnb is! You guys got a really beautiful looking space. Nice and open. YAY!! You made it to the springs on Day 2! $18/person is a good price! Love the "dancing sand". We love to sip the water too. The Hidden Valley was awesome to check out too. Thank you guys for taking us to this most beautiful location and you guys look like you're the only ones out there!! Love you guys to the moon and safe travels! :)
Hey girls! Hope you're both well! Yes we were super lucky to be able to visit Hamurana the next day and somehow still fit in Orakei Korako too!! 👍👍 And since we couldn't go the day before also got to add in rainbow mountain and crater lake too.. bonus 😁💙👍 have an awesome day and take care the both of you! 👋🙂
oh man that sucks it shut cos of the weather. Very scenic drive! pwooooar the baby blue water is amazing. Thanks for lifting the camera up high so we can see haha. Sweeet it's open now. Worth the wait cos it's so nice! Dancing sand - AWESOMe! wow the hot pools colors is cool as. LOL it looks like mud peter =P
Hahaha it made me nervous seeing him hold the tripod up like that to get the shot 😅😅 thankfully he held on tight and steady 😅👍 so glad we got to see Hamurana the next day and still fit in the hidden valley too 🙂 lolol it looks like the nice kind of mud.. not the dark brown sludgey mess we see on farms etc lolol
Haha nice, glad the rain stopped so you could both get to see Hamurana springs .
😅 yeah so lucky!
I loooove cows, and you have started this video with cows, so I already love it!!
🐄🐄🐄😁👌
Wow another lovely video. Loved it!! You guys make me wanna move there like right now! I love New Zealand ❤️looking forward to see more videos.
Thank you Fathima! Hopefully you can visit at least when our borders open again 🤞🌷🙂 Take care and have an awesome day! 👋
Here is a quick and easy one for you- drive to the end of Purewa Road Meadowbank. From there you can complete a full circuit of Orakei Basin. Who would believe there is so much native bush right in the middle of Auckland with spectacular views on this 4K walk.
Ah yes Peter's parents use to live kinda near there so we'd go on walks there sometimes too 🙂👍 I think we made a video from there for something ages ago but can't quite remember what it was anymore 😅😅
Look at all those kitties!!! 😍😍😍
They were such cuties! 😸🐈🐱
Love the split screen! Bahh! Hate when you plan to check out a cool park and find out it's closed when you get there. That's happened to us a few times:/ Oh the color of that blue lake is stunning!!!
Yea such a pretty blue ay 💙😍 we're glad the park was open the next day though! Worth the wait 👌
found rainbow mountain in the end ah lot of nice cats at that cat hotel the air bnb looks like a hotel room Hamurana springs looks beautiful tall trees food from the bakery nice for quickness boat ride and a nice walk looks cool there
*👍Au👍you got our like👍 and a full view as always*
Thanks Billy 👍 just gotta roll with whatever happens sometimes ay 🙂
You guys have such a good dynamic!
The Hamurana springs are stunning 😍 the dancing sand looks so cool! It looks a bit like a bunch of fuzzy little creatures 😃
Hahaha it does look like fuzzy creatures!! Looking at it from top down is interesting but much cooler getting to see it from the side view 🙂👍💙
Hamurana Springs and The Hidden Valley are definitely worth the visit!!
They are both equally beautiful 😍
You guys are so blessed with so many beautiful NZ natures. Never get tired of seeing such magnificent views of the places you show us from your video!
A little detour never hurts, especially it's all worked out at the end 👍
Great tip on searching for keyword in Google maps too!
We really are aren't we? So much natural beauty in NZ and we still have so much left to see and share too! 😁👍❤️ Thank you guys! 👋🙂
The water is so blue! Love your cute host!! Oh wait... I thought you said Sonia was the cat you're petting lol! They're all so cute!! Everything you need in the AirBnB is perfect :D The snack area is so lovely, we don't get of that here.
Hahaha yea nah 😁 Sonia was our lovely Airbnb host. They were very cute and enjoying the petting! So blue huh that crater! 💙😍
Wow that water was so clear. Glad it tasted good too!
Pretty amazing huh! 😁💙 It tasted so fresh!
What a beautiful place. Loved the forest and that blue water! 😍
Yes, clear water that you can drink! Reminds me of old times back in Spanish/French Pyrenees mountains!
That water 💧 was epic really was crystal 🔮 clear 👌 ooooo Pyrenees mountains looks awesome
Yen looks super tiny against those redwood trees 😄
I felt super tiny! Hahaha 😅 to think they grow like double that height too!
You two are the perfect everything
Lol thanks Matt 😊 ✌️
Uina, sweet couple. A journey through Hamurana Springs and The Hidden Valley ( Orakei Korako ) in New Zealand. Indeed, the best ever places of interest.
😁💕👍
Great to see your video and catch up
Thanks for watching Rose 😁🤙
We used to play on the 9 Hole Golf course next to Hamurana springs, lost a few Golf balls in this springs as well, thousands of times we went through there, never disappointed us, happy it was open for you both.😊
We could peak through to the golf ⛳ course. Looked like an awesome place to play. I've always said to yen in a few more years I wanna take up the sport 😁👍
@@PeterandYen Cool,I'll hit you up for a game when I'm back home next,Chamberlain Park is a good place to start.😊
Hahaha still need coaching mate, can barely hit the ball 😂
@@PeterandYen 😅
So I've been offline for a day or two and I've only just noticed you guys mentioned me! Thank you very much for the aknowledgement, it was a great pleasure to have been able to contribute to the wonderful content you guys make.
Also: now I miss NZ even more, dammit! It's been over 10 years since I last was there, and even though we spent only 2,5 weeks there, I had some sort of 'emotional jetlag' for months after returning home. The day my partner agrees to my dreams of migrating, I'm packing all our bags and coming over for good ;)
Hiya Bert 😁👋 Thanks so much again for your recommendation! ❤️ Orakei Korako was such an awesome spot. Glad we visited and you were totally right about those Jurassic Park vibes there too especially with the whole needing to take a ferry to get there as well 😁👍
Aw wow 10 years ago! Definitely overdue for returning when you can 🙂💕 Where abouts do you and your partner stay? Hopefully not too far from NZ 🇳🇿 Although unless you guys are in Australia or the Cook Islands pretty much everywhere is far from New Zealand hahah 😅
@@PeterandYen Well, I'm afraid we are in Belgium, which is pretty much as far as you can get from NZ, unfortunately. :(
I will definitely be back, when our son is up to 35 hours of non-stop travel, but that will take a few more years I'm afraid (he's 5 right now and complains when a car ride takes more than 45 minutes).
So keep me dreaming about your lovely homeland until I have a possibility to return. You guys give me life! ;)
Oh wow Belgium!! 35 hours!! 😱 Oh my goodness.. hahaha ok yea pretty far in that case lol 😅 Belgium looks like it has incredible nature too though. Would love to visit one day as well ❤️ Aw thank you we'll do our best to keep showcasing NZ in the mean time 😁 We're currently on another mini road trip at the moment! Making our way over to a place called New Plymouth tomorrow 🙂👍 These vlogs will be a few weeks away tho!
Hi Peter and Yen! The water from the Hamurana springs indeed looked so fresh and clean! Last year during autumn I went to a place called Kamikochi in the Japanese Alps and drank water from a mountain river there, the best water I've tasted up till this day 😅I'll have to go and see for myself whether the water from Hamurana tastes better or not 😉
Oooooo kamikochi sounds like an interesting place to explore too especially if it's in the Japanese alps 😯 yeah y'all should totally visit New Zealand one day and check it out for yourselves 😊🤞
Good morning from PP, Cambodia. I am New friend
HAHAHAA Love that Moooooooooo intro!!!! So cuuute!!
🤣🐄🐄🐄👍
This is a great and very beautiful vlog. Tfs.
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you for watching! 😁👋🌻
That crystal blue water was crazy!
💙💙💙😁
Welcome to my home and thank you for your great pronouncing of our language including geysers rather than geezers ;)
Thanks Sharon 🙂👋
Ah high wind is a problem there eh? Rain here is a problem (monsoon)
Roadtrip in NZ is like looking out at wallpapers, beautiful sceneries every where you look!
Not often but sometimes and lastly I guess we've been getting some strong winds! We don't have a monsoon season here or anything like that. Hahaha yes it is a bit like that! Just very scenic 😁🌳🌳
It's very beautiful n those ducks are so cute. Love the dancing sand too.❤❤❤
They were very cute! A bit too far for our camera to capture but we saw some up close in Hamilton (next week's vlog) that were super cute 😍🦆 Maybe another place for you to explore later mum 🙂
Muffins and kebabs are definitely great choice for quick eats!
Haha definitely! Great that they tasted good too 🙂👍
Ohhhhh ya fully watched your groovy video my friends✌🏻
Thanks guys! Hope you enjoyed it 😁👍
Haha the petting cage. Those cats want you to stay there Peter.
7:28 is that the forest where Boromir was killed? lol
Lol could pass for it ay 🤣 this one seems a lot less.. dark though! 🌳🌳😅
Rotorua Canopy Tours is heaps of fun!
Ooo yea we saw that! We considered it as an alternative when the reserve was closed but then we missed the opened time slots for the day 😅😅 might have to save that for a future activity!
That does seem like great value for New Zealand! Much lower price compared to many of the other spots you’ve stayed in
Yea exactly! And in a pretty good location too 👍
hi guys what can i say, i think i have said it all haha, another great vid. waiting waiting waiting for my return. looking forward to next week already. take care both,
Hahaha thank you Barry! Hope you have a great day and take care too! Next week's vlog involves cherry blossoms in the Waikato 😁🌸🌸🌸
Now, I'm craving some bubble tea. LOL
Hahaha they should totally have a bubble tea cafe inside and call it mud pool plus even make it that colour too... I'd totally drink that 🤣🤣
Last time when I visit Hamurana Spring ( 3 years ago ) was free entry 😄
Yea we read about that! It was returned to the Ngati Rangiwewehi iwi a few years back so the fees help with the maintenance fees and all that. We were just happy we got to see it really 😁👍
It should stay free for ever!
I like how often you guys are getting lost these days haha! In a good way! And still staying positive! (Thankfully there's google!)
Lolol we get lost all the time tbh 😂
Such a beautiful mystical landscape :-) oh and the food liked lovely too!
Haha it was a quick bite to eat but was surprisingly good! Hit the spot 😁👌 nz just has so many awesome landscapes ay!
So nice and beautiful
Omg so nice
NZ has so many beautiful and interesting places! 🙂🇳🇿👍
Looks so beautiful there :D
Pretty awesome huh Felix 😁👍💙 hope you still have your nz bucket list and next year still happens for you! 🤞🤞
A glimpse of Peter and Yen vs wild, drinking spring water :P Did we say we need a whole series of that? 😁
😂😂 it would be the tamest series ever hahaha
Love it guys. Good content 😊
Thanks mate glad you're enjoying them! Hopefully fingers crossed we can go south island soon woohoo
Hey Peter & Yen - love your positivity - water so crystal clear !! Saw the Cherry Blossoms along your drive to Korako - that Ferry seems to zip around a bit, eh !!
Hiya Catherine 😁👋 how are you? Yes!! We were excited to see those cherry blossoms too 😍🌸 good spotting!! The water is so clear! Really lovely and yes haha that ferry goes back and forth all day long but unfortunately not so much during this pandemic period. Hopefully more kiwis will discover its beauty too and visit 🙂👍
Next time you are in Rotorua, try the jet sprint boats on the highway as you head to highway 1,bonkers fun!!! Sorry, it's on Highway one, across the road from the Agrodome and Zorb.
Awesome thanks for another mean recommendation. Rotorua really does have a lot of activities 😯🤔
Heaven on Earth
💯👌🇳🇿😁
The color of the crate looks awesome.
Why is Peter not getting close to the fence? Is he afraid of heights? lol
Hahaha he does have a lil fear of heights but nah he was right up at the fence and holding the tripod with our camera on top above his head to get the clear shot! Just when we filmed that part he was already set up and close and I was still looking at the lake lolol 🤣
LOL when we visited the Rainbow Mountain we got lost as well, good walk and view on top:)
Hahaha good to know we're not alone! It just stops in the middle of the highway if you don't put in carpark.. and it's like "you've reached your destination" 🤣😅 No we haven't Google!! 😂😂
Peter and Yen same here, i had to search in the review to finally find the carpark LOL, naughty google🙉
😆😆
Hi Peter and Yen, it's Romy from Singapore. I know Orakei Korako, there is a Elephant Rock.. haha, went there last year.
Hahahaha yes! We snuck in a few seconds of footage of that somewhere in that video too
wow that blue color is so pretty and just wondering is that spring allow visitors to actually jump in it?
Pretty huh 😍💙💙 nah this one you can no longer go inside it either just like the other blue spring in Putaruru
How’s going Yen? Long time no see. Looks like you and Peter enjoying blogging. Love your videos.
Heya Lehi!! 😁👋👋 Yea long time no see! Where abouts are you living now? We def enjoy vlogging and traveling about ❤️ So glad we were able to make it back to NZ before the first lockdown. We've been really fortunate getting to at least still travel domestically between lockdowns and good weather stretches 👍 Thanks for watching our videos 🙂✌️💕
Haha love the intro with the cows mooing 🐮 Oh wow that crater is super blue 😆 Wowow!!! Cute kitties 🐱 Haha they look so cuddly! $85 NZD is such good value for NZ I reckon! So much wildlife in this video hehe loving the little ducks and those springs look so peaceful! Can you swim in these springs? Or is it like blue springs? Yummy water 😋I’d love to try some now. The geothermal park looks so cool 😎 Another great vid guys! Hope you’re both having a great week 😆
Hahahaha before Peter first showed me the intro he was like.. let me know if this is cool or lame 😅😅 watched it and I cracked up so I was like.. it's funny and dry keep it in lolol 🤣👌👌 The cats were cute ay! I forgot to show just how big that cattery actually was and tbh I never knew they existed til we learnt it that day! Nah it's like blue spring, can't swim in there anymore but you are allowed to go down to it and drink from it 🙂 Thanks Lana! Hope you have a great week too! Btw where in the world are you now? 🙂
Peter and Yen Haha dry humour is the best 😂👌🏼 Oh that’s so awesome! If there are cute pets it always makes the stay 100 times better! 🙌🏼 Aw damn, makes sense that you can’t swim there though. Awesome you got to taste it! Wish I did that at blue springs now haha 😂. Thanks! We are currently at the airport boarding to Albania 🇦🇱 Yay! So lucky there are a few countries open near us. I hope things are going well for you guys! Looking forward as always to see more NZ adventures from you both 😄😄 Take care! ☺️
Albania! That's awesome! Safe travels you two 🙂❤️
Peter and Yen Thank you 😊
Really pretty! 😍
Both the springs and the geothermal wonderland were awesome 👌
That's awesome! So blissfully spiritual really! I could meditate there in this heaven. Thanks for the beautiful video! 😇. Are you allowed to fill the water in a clean bottle from that blue stream?
It was very peaceful in both places when we went! I guess it must be like that pretty much everywhere these days especially here in NZ without international tourists.. (and during a weekday and non-school holiday period too!) Not sure if you can fill a bottle up with the water, we know you're definitely allowed to take a sip of it coz the guy at the ticket booth told us to try it haha so maybe can just check when you're there if filling a bottle is ok too! 👍🙂 When you eventually can visit again that is 😅
😂 your the cutest Yen. I 2nd that for whenever we get lost... stay positive. I need to remind Cee about that hahah! Wooooow that is baby blue!!! 😱 I love your guys videos as always 🥰
Haha thank you Tara! ❤️❤️ Oh man we were just hit with all the bad luck that day (stuff off camera too lol) but then second day was awesome as 😁👍👍 nz is filled with so many beautiful natural colours ay!
Thanks for being persistent and going back! The bubbling sand was my favorite part😁 So beautiful! “Geyser, geezer..” had me laughing🤣 Not sure in NZ, but geezer means...ah, let me just copy and paste: “Geezer is a mildly negative slang term for a man, especially an older man who's considered odd in some way. In American slang, geezer almost always refers to an older man and is especially used in the phrase old geezer.” I consider myself more geezer than geyser:) Thanks guys for some amazing sights!!!! 2 more hours Peter until Izzy!
Hahahaha you know what.. I thought it was geysers (guysers) originally too until I looked it up not too long ago and apparently it's pronounced both ways so I was left unsure lolol 😅 it's definitely american pronunciation and more common to call them geysers (guysers) though. Hahaha you're not a geezer Hans 🤣🤣 btw have you watched the fight yet? We've both seen it now ✌️ don't wanna spoil if you haven't yet!
Peter and Yen this is should sum it up🇳🇿+🥊=🇧🇷😵😵 🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿👑🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 wow!
Peter and Yen can’t wait for Weili’s next fight!!!
Yes man, hope she comes back even stronger after how close her last belt was. Also I can't wait to see Korean zombie fight Ortega, that should be a good one 👍
Peter and Yen I think I read somewhere possible December against Rose. Def looking forward to KZ vs Ortega. Useless fact - been to both KZ’s gym and gym Ortega trains at... but you know who I’m rooting for 🇰🇷🧟♂️
Were you guys able to find out why it is called Rainbow Mountain?? Love Yen's positive attitude and Woooaahh the blue of Crater Lake is other-worldly!! Truly stunning.
Thank you guys! Didn't know why it got that name but assumed it's just coz it's quite a colourful mountain haha.. not quite a rainbow spectrum though 😅😅 oh maybe from the summit you get to see really great views of rainbows when they're out... 🤔 Ok now you got us curious haha 😅 beautiful blue huh? 💙🙂 There's also this place in Taupo that has terraces and natural hot pools with similar blue waters! 💙
@@PeterandYen oooh that also sounds really cool. Also, I like both of these theories!😂You guys should make a travel guide that showcases all of the locations you've been to and why they are the way they are... Not the real reasons -- just your theories 🤣🤣
I went to Orakei Korako with friends from Taupo at the start of the year and enjoyed it much more than Wai o Tapu.
I'd not even heard of the Hamurana Springs though, so I'll be adding that to the list for my next visit 👍🏻
Orakei Korako felt like a hidden island huh? Such amazing geothermal land! Hope you'll enjoy Hamurana Springs when you get a chance to visit. Have you been to Blue Spring Putaruru before Rob?
@@PeterandYen I've not been to Putaruru before, although having seen them on both your video and Daneger and Stacy's I'll definitely be adding them to the list for my next visit.
I have visited Te Waikoropupū Springs in Golden Bay a couple of times though, where I was blown away by the clarity and sheer volume of water!
You're video of the Gisborne area has inspired me to visit there too, as it looks amazing.
I fell in love with Aotearoa on my first visit in 2011 and have been privileged enough to visit a further 8 times so far, every time I've discovered somewhere new and amazing.
Ooo yes! Te Waikoropupu Springs 💙 We wanna visit there too after having seen Blue Spring Putaruru and Hamurana 😁👍 Maybe on our next trip to the South Island 🤞🤞
Wow 8 times! That's fantastic 🙂🙌 Yea NZ sure has a lot of beautiful places to visit and it's amazing how easily accessible many of them are. Hopefully you'll get to visit again soon when our borders eventually reopen 🇳🇿🤞
@@PeterandYen when you're down there you have to go to Wharariki Beach, it's definitely worth the drive on the unsealed road and short walk.
The Grove is a fairly well kept local secret that's worthwhile exploring too 🌴
Thanks heaps for the recommendations Rob! The grove looks awesome 😍👍 Noted both places down though 👍😁
damn NZ just looks so beautiful
A lot of beautiful nature and interesting landscapes huh? 🙂💕
"driving around being lost"
I would tell Lieles is about the journey not the destination, hahaha and he would roll his eyes at me
Hahaha I always think it's about both! Can't have one without the other unless you're standing still 😅 the destination might just change in certain cases that's all 🙂
Ohh that's a must place to visit 😍😍😍
So many great places to visit in NZ 😁👌
@@PeterandYen Indeed, couldn't agree more 😍
Another great vlog! How old were the redwoods?
Thanks Ray 😁👍 the redwoods were planted in 1919 so makes em a lil over 100 now

I saw your north island and the burger is giant
Which burger was that? 🙂 Do you mean the mushroom one from Mangawhai? It was delicious!
Yes that one
Kiaora guys!! Great vid of home again. Wow, you have to pay to walk hamurana Springs now?? 🤔😳😁😁 Keep up the good work
Kia ora! Thank you! 😁👋 Yea we heard it use to be free entry when it belonged to the council originally but its been returned to the Ngati Rangiwewehi and it's to help with the maintenance costs of up keeping the reserve. Enjoyed our time there though and just glad we were able to see it! 😁 Take care and have an awesome week 🙂👋
The price they now charge you is very pricey considering it's just to walk around. It should stay free forever
“Orrr 30 meters to the Crater Lake” 😂😂
Hahahah we knew which one we were going for with the sun going down 😂👍
Of course I forgot my headphones
Haha it's ok Sundai! 🙂
Go to Awahou springs
We did this the other weekend, recommend you go to here: Mangapohue Natural Bridge
Te Anga Road, Te Anga 3988
goo.gl/maps/PaZBxh6VvBiSgCfe9 and then also checkout other things in the area, lots of caves and waterfalls. Best tip for the Natural Bridge is don’t google it before going cause to a real sight to see/experience.
Sounds cool, thank you for the recommendation Maldwyn! 😁👌
Hamurana used to be free!
Used to be looked after by DOC but now it's under private ownership so they need to charge at the gate to look after the area 😊✌
Going to watch this without them and be slightly obnoxious
Lolol you're too sweet and funny! Were you on the train or in a cafe? 🙂 Hope you didn't get Japanese ppl giving you them "urusai looks" haha 😅😅
