Every time I listen to this song I am reminded how beautiful it could have been to be hungarian but then reality slaps me in the face. We have a beautiful country, rich culture, the most beautiful folk music in the world, how come we are so bitter and hateful towards everyone, even our own?
We should celebrate all the wonders that we have: the music, the dance, the tales, our architectures and all the natural beauties this little country has. Please love each other, I know that good people live here and this could be a great country with a little tolerance and love.

Being in my twenties, there aren't many titles i can listen to, that my 75 year old grandmother would equally like. While i was listening to this masterpiece, i could overhear her humming in the living room, being completely oblivious to what music this is.
This music not only manages to bridge cultures, it also succeeds quite well in bridging generations. If you excuse my boldness, in my eyes this song is what "We are the world" would have liked to be some 30 years ago. Would have liked, because it conveyed its message in a single language. Here the music speaks for itself. Call me ignorant but this is how i feel.

Actually, it's not about spring wind. The song - the root of the main melody in the music and the song also - is a Hungarian folksong. The Tavaszi szél vizet áraszt, means the spring wind makes the water flow, that's true, but the other parts of the music is about finding a lover. So this song is about love. Anyway, that's usual in Hung. songs: there is a picture of something really usual: weather, animal, fruit, etc. and at the end of the song comes the "real meaning": love. In most cases. :)
