I remember that when I was 10 yrs, I didn't knew other ways of downloading songs than through those ares type of playstore mp3 download apps... I searched Girls & Boys after seeing the music video on VH1, the track that was in the app was the demo and I didn't notice it, I believed for years that it was the released one lmaoo,, I remember listening to this song on youtube and thinking "but the song is not like that!!" hahah
Woah, at the first 4 seconds i thought it was "Just can't get enough" of Depeche Mode ^^ But i like this version better, the original one is too...i dunno, hate it tough.
I never believe anyone that says that about any song, really. Demos are almost indefinitely worse than the final version by nature and I think it's dumb to be all hipstery saying "oh man the demo is so much better". Like the audio quality is god awful and it's basically the same song without the proper production, production and recording in general.
"John Lennon - stepping out" is so much better in the demo versions than the final version. maybe not a totally fair example since he was dead when that one was released.
ZEZTEK Agreed, I like People more than D.A.R.E. because you can hear more of the song. Also Nine Inch Nails has an entire demo album from before their first released album that still feels fully produced yet is completely different from what actually came out. I like a lot of the cuts on it as much as the final versions.
Putting aside the fact I disagree with that take, can people stop calling the official version "the original?" Because, well, this demo is the original version
Ï think it´s soooo fuckin annoying that whitchever blur clip you see on youtube all the peolpe shall discuss the difference between blur and oasis.. that was like 95!!!!!
Damon's voice is adorable in this omg
oh my god, the bass in this version. groovy.
This sounds more 80s. (Probably the reason why The Pet Shop Boys liked it? I'd be wrong, tho)
Well, to BE fair, a LOT of 80’s trends lasted well into the early 90’s, and this demo was recorded in either ‘91 or ‘92.
Snare is bloody huge in this demo
Some would say..... too huge...
Man I rlly love the bass and vocals in this version

Sounds cool, not so glossy and poppy.
Love it!
Blur knew that the gloss and the pop was what this song really needed.
Awww Damon's voice is so cute
I don't actually believe anyone who says this is the better version.

Gosh, I think I love this more than the original. Fucking brilliant.

Even on the demo, the guitar is a BEAST!
Where can i find this demos? i have the whole discography of Blur, but i don't have these versions...

Duran Duran
Totally agree with norchwood78.
Damon's voice sounds really weird on these demos...
this demo is a lot better than the original
Mega bass groove
Is like Pet Shop Boys.
Rodg Way TOTALLY!!!!!
El sonido de sintetizador de fondo suena idéntico a Magic América
It turns out it's not a guitar at 2:52.
i love this demo. much better..
where can i download it?
bro im flabbergasted
keyboards sound better. more quirky more unique then the studio version
the drums remind me of Hate to Say I Told You So by the Hives
It's actually the opposite. The Hives came out seven years later.
@Isgoddel Unfortunately it won't be part of the 21 box set so it might be only available here for now.
This gives me choir vibes 😭
