Bought the CD when it came out after hearing this on one of the greatest Alt stations in the late 80’s and early 90’s…….then it got bout out and went Country 🤮
'I know' and 'Inertia' should have been on the original tracklisting on Leisure. Both songs are badass. Leisure is a good album but with +these two songs it would be an ever better one.
True, as well as those other suggestions in this thread. But then most Blur B Sides are worthy of being on albums... I was always also fond of When The Cows Come Home, Dizzy, Inertia, Mace, Badgeman Brown, Theme From An Imaginary Film, The horrors, The Man Who Left Himself and Tame... So many more though. Like I say though, Blur never failed to give their fans more and never dropped quality in doing so. And of course frequently released double singles in order to put more stuff out! Certainly _sometimes_ (*cough* Country House vs Roll With It), I understand why 'some' thought it cynical... but if Oasis fans wanted to buy another copy of RWI with no extra material... they could have! And on that note actually One Born Every Minute wasn't half bad and neither were the live performances or the French version of To The End featuring Françoise Hardy.
The United States has a long history of desecrating the track listings of UK albums. But surprisingly, I think I have to admit that I prefer the track list of the U.S. release of Leisure: She's So High There's No Other Way Bang I Know Slow Down Repetition/ Bad Day High Cool Come Together Fool Birthday Wear Me Down

They'd definitely been listening to a bit of Fool's Gold when they came up with this. That's alright though, because the Stone Roses are the second best band to have reformed in the last three years' '90'sReform-a-thon'. Blur are still the only ones who've actually released anything new so far, and it's telling that they're the ones who are getting all the love (okay, Stone Roses too). It's all thanks to Damon's unreal work-ethic. He certainly earns his money!
I was just listening to Fool's Gold and thought "Hang on, this sounds like a couple of Blur's songs." Came here to find someone else thinking the same.
@@k-leb4671 Stone Roses and the scene and Manchester came before Blur. They jumped on the wave. I think the song writing and the way Blur had diverse sounds and phases in their career they are the better band. But the STone Roses were first :)
There's a beautiful irony in this song that not many people "know" about it. That just makes it more special for the rare instances one will say "Oh, I KNOW that song!" Hopefully this'll make it back into their setlists someday as it's beautiful and doesn't deserve to be forgotten
@@johnharvey4448 There's No Other Way was catchy. I heard it on the radio when it was released and was like "yesssss". So I agree it was the right single for the album at that time but now I look back I like this one.
As it was a double a side, it’s too bad they never did a music video in all their baggy pomp. Would’ve been amazing to see had they done, as there is so little footage of them in 1990
This wasn't a b-side. I believe this actually came out as a "double a-side" with She's So High as their first single. I remember them playing this first when I seen them in Edinburgh on the singles tour in 99.
The guitar solo reminds me of the album Loveless by my bloody valentine and like the singing reminds me of just like- not even sure but, reminds me of that one movie “Rio” or something like that. Damon’s voice just colliding with the song and my feeling towards the other songs have never been more stronger than this one. This one is it. I found the song I’ve been dying to hear for my whole life. Blur had it and they’re my favourite.
simón suena demasiado a Happy Mondays, la banda ha declarado que en la grabación de este disco la disquera trato de que fuera lo mas apegado posible al sonido de moda y esto se nota en esta rola
This was supposed to be released as a double singe with 'She's So High', but released it as a B-side instead. Maybe that's why you @octavecoxon had it on Leisure back then.
@@stevenwilliam4500 No, I disagree with 16 year old me, this song is great, but not as good as She's So High. Although, it's that melody. Early Blur is very repetitive but that's what they were about. I love the jungle-esque drums too
Annoying that they didn't put this original 3:30 version on the Special Edition of Leisure. Instead of the "Extended remix". I fucking hate extended remixes.
They should've replaced High Cool, Come Together, or Fool with this song on the UK version of the album. And not replaced Sing with this on the US album.
High Cool, Come Together are weak, yet, is this better than them ? This is weak too. There are some tracks that would have made Leisure more interesting such as Inertia.
Blur B-Sides are spot on! I will be listening to Blur and Damon when I'm unable to move, lying in a nursing home. And that will give me joy:-)
It was a double A-Side to She's So High in 1990
not - Megadeth ??? ^-^

You might like : Music Is My Radar by blur then.

Just listening to this for the playlist and happened to find your comment lol
It is one of my fav songs or maybe favourite song by Blur!
I'm completely in love of this song
someone said blur b-sides is better than albums itself ???
cant agree more ;)
But, if the B-Sides were chosen for the albums, and then you heard the songs that are on the albums would you say they are better ?
I do. For instance : There's No Other Way that is on the album Leisure is better than this track.

Still trying to get there music
I'm a huge fan of Gorillaz, but I think that Blur is amazing :D
jadepot23 me too
I love this song so very much. I can't stop listening to it. My favourite song :B

Blur at their best on b-sides and all their pre Country House phase. Remember seeing Damon play the Bontempi at the Astoria in 1995. Top sound.
im obsessing over this song
I listen to Blur since 2003 and only started to look after b sides now. This one is awesome! (Yeah, you can call me a noob fan, but I'm 25.)
They all are damn awesome! :D Specialy MLIR b-sides.
*****
I agree, but Parklife's (the album) are a little weak IMHO.

Blur's b sides are the very best
Liltle bit Stone roses feeling
ya you’re so right
That's because their management wanted them to have that sound as it was part of the baggy era sound at the time
b side to the first single and could-should?- have been a hit.
"from the 'She's So High' single,"
Also from the US version of Leisure.
That's how I discovered it, on a US cassette of the album. 💜
I couldn't get to this song without having to scroll down all the fucking blurred lines suggestions
that "10y ago" hits different
From the westway back to the start! BEST....BAND.....EVER!
Very Underrated
@ThePlacidman You are so right, I cannot agree more! This song should be more highlighted as one of Blur's best tracks.
I fucking love this song
It's genuinely one of my favorite songs ever. 🥰
That's honestly one of their fucking best songs! It's wicked, fuck's sake...
One of the better tracks they made.

It's the best song of Blur
This was a Double A-Side with She's So High, which is why it was played on the Singles Tour!! Great song!
Good awesome bass guitar line!!
sounds like " bang" , the bass ...
This is one blur's best songs ever.
Nah.
blur is so awesome
Had this on a tape with Magpie and bloody lost it.
The photo.....Blur were wearing flares and had bowlcuts in 1990 #justsaying :)
It's a 1993 photo
Sounds a little bit like fool's gold from the stone roses, the drums and bass, anyways I love it
Reminds me a bit of rhcp
I was going to say the same!
it would be best song on album if they put it on european version of Leisure ;\

WHERE HAVE ALL THE BLOODY TUNES GONE THESE DAYS?
Not much of a tune on this track to be fair.
Stone roses on wah. Very nice
gives me big Happy Mondays vibes
why is this so overlooked as a madchester track?
love this !!
Wonderfull band!!!
Thanks!
Why was "Baggy" such a passing fad? This is still awesome.
Because of drugs.
i had the cd with the blue dots on it and this was on the album. perhaps it's the us version
this is brilliant!
Me puede alguien explicar por qué no he escuchado esto antes? >:(
creo que blur tiene tantos b-sides como albums enteros.. es increible, en fin por dicha ya estas aqui :)
b-sides no muy conocidos.
Leisure b-sides are better than the album itself.
Definitely!

better than she's so high!
