    I love how being close to Switzerland instantly makes them wealthy

      I think it is mainly because they work in Geneva, where wages are higher, but live in France and so you are richer doing the same job. It is the same also here in Italy.

      Hum yes, but actually no, Switzerland has nothing to do with it, I know what I say because I am French. The dark green area near Switzerland shelters the second richest and most developed city in France: Lyon. It’s a kind of counter-power to Paris, so necessarily business leaders, doctors, highly skilled workers or teachers, lawyers, etc., live there and create a lot of wealth.

    • @oof5020

      @@mathiselfamoso Of course Switzerland also has something to do with it. For the exact reasons one explained earlier.

      @@mathiselfamoso "Switzerland has nothing to do with it" is just plain wrong.
      www.thelocal.ch/20191118/increasing-number-of-foreigners-commute-to-work-in-switzerland-each-day
      it says that, at november 2019, there were 85,100 frontaliers from France, 67,800 from Italy and 33,700 from Germany.
      And as it says in the article "These workers should not be confused with French, Italian and German immigrants who live permanently in Switzerland, constituting the largest percentage of foreigners in the country, or with those who have the right to live here but choose to make their home in the bordering areas because life is cheaper there." So, these numbers are even higher and the wealth from this phenomenon is bigger than that. In which percentage does this affect the general wealth I do not know, but it is surely wrong saying that "it has nothing to do with it".

    Switzerland is the centre of wealth in Europe. In France, the regions wich are near Switzerland are the richest. But not only in France, in Germany, Austria and Italy also. French Alps, Western Austria, Southern Germany and Northern Italy are the richest regions in these countries and all are bordering Switzerland.

    • @sephikong8323
      @sephikong8323 4 роки тому +1

      That's a result of History
      Germany has never been centralised for most of the existence of the region, the closest it got from centralisation (Charlemagne's empire and the height of Habsburg power) were centralised in areas outside of modern day Germany. The German states all developed on their own.
      Compare that to France and Russia that have been centralised forces for several centuries at this point with very rigid recurring structures and the two are certain to end up looking quite different. One will looking multipolar, the other will have one big pole that represents the historical centre of Power (Paris in France, Moscow/St Petersburg in Russia) and several smaller ones that in general were important centers for the enforcement of power at a local level (Marseille, Lyon or Toulouse in France, Volgograd, Kazan or Novgorod* in Russia)
      *Novgorord was also a capital in it's time but you got the picture

    Average income does'nt tell much about the actual wealth of a population. For exemple here Nice is rich, despite having 20% of it's population living bellow the poverty line (national average is 13-14%).
    The map generaly shows poorer countryside as opposed to richer cities, while actually according to data from the social research organization "observatoire des inégalités" 60% of France's poors live in cities and city suburbs.
    Median income and poverty rate are better tools for documenting wealth disparities.

      C'est par rapport à la moyenne française.
      Et c'est surtout du à l'absence de forte économie touristique proche de la côte. Et d’absence de grand centre urbain. Si tu regarde bien. Les villes riches sont proche des pays avec un plus gros revenu (Suisse, Allemagne*, la Flandres, et le RU), mais aussi les métropoles, et les grande conurbation côtière.

      Pauvre ?.....
      Tout est relatif !
      Il n'y a pas que les salaires qui comptent pour definir qui est riche ou non !!
      Il y a aussi le cout de la vie..
      J'habite a Saint-Etienne, avec un smic tu peux t'en sortir un peu pres......
      A 80 km, a Lyon..... c pas la meme histoire !
      Ce qui compte, cest la difference entre salaire et cout de la vie.... le pouvoir d'achat !
      Jpense que la carte serait un peu differente....
      Quand jcompare avec mon frere qui vit a Paris, cest flagrant !
      Il gagne 600 euros de plus que moi..... mais quand tu enleve les charges et impots, cest moi qui me retrouve avec le plus de fric.
      Et en plus, jai un meilleur appart que lui !
      Donc qui cest le pauvre entre nous deux ?!?!?
      Celui qui gagne 2400 a Paris ou celui qui gagne 1800 a Saint-Etienne ?!?!?

      Je pense que c'est pas à partir d'une somme mais plutôt les villes qui sont le plus riche jusqu'au plus pauvre. Autant la ville la plus pauvre de France n'est pas pauvre mais c'est quand même la plus pauvre de France. (Je sais pas si mon explication est bien désolé)

      @tommarch.4493 4 роки тому

      @@Cottereau1 Il est vrai que les communes ne se traduisent pas parfaitement en anglais. D'autant plus que chaque pays a des définitions différentes pour villes et villages. Au RU par exemple c'est la famille royale qui décide. Tu peux donc avoir des villages de plus de 50 000 habitants. En dehors de l'Europe, la "ville" française devient très rare. Car aux US par exemple, les gens vivent principalement dans de grandes villes, oui, mais qui ne sont pas dense, et en petite quantité. En France, c'est surtout des petites villes et villages, partout
