Klint Kubiak is gonna make us look GREAT!
I'm glad Kubiak is making Carr WORK. We don't know what benefits this will bring at this point, but Carr did absolutely nothing last year.--except attack his teammates. Kubiak may have the leadership we need, because we don't have any leadership, management, or work ethic, and the problem starts at the top with Gayle and Loomis.
WHAT!? Over the last 5 games, vs several top 10 defenses, Carr lead the NFL in TD passes while also throwing the fewest picks in that time. He did that despite the Saints having arguably the worst run game in the NFL. The absolutely had the worst OC in the NFL, that's a proven fact.
So Carr took an offense with very little talent and turned it into one of the best offenses in the NFL even w/o a run game. Some fans don't seem to be aware that every QB ever to switch teams didn't play well the 1st half of the season. It takes that long to adjust to the new team/teammates.
Blame Winston for choking away a 17-0 lead in the 3rd quarter, which is the only reason saints didn't win the division and make the playoffs. Carr played well, it was the run game and backup QB who ruined the season.
Put any of them quarterbacks on the raiders from 2014 - 2022 and NONE of them would have changed the outcome. Just think about that for 1 second.

Brock Purdy like Jimmy G came into a great team. Head to head, Carr outplays Herbert. Last games Carr went against the Ravens and Cowboys, Carr won those games and played incredible. Not saying Carr’s better, but he was those games. Total numbers last year are lower since Carr missed an equivalent to two games but finished #10 in QB rating.

Im more concerned about the o line than i am about Derrick Carr. If we can keep Carr in a clean pocket and on his feet...i think he could have a good year. Plus i think what we saw at the end of last year was chemistry developing and hopefully that continues to build before the season starts. I think Olave becomes who we thought he could be last year this year. So ya...to me it all hinges on the o line which i think has the biggest question mark over it right now.

I’m fine with carr and fine admitting what he is. How many more ways are people going to call him a mid tier qb? It is what he is and I firmly believe that under the right circumstances he can elevate to top 10ish. A lot of ifs in there but if the team can stay reasonably healthy , defense performs just a tick better than last year just in pass rush alone this team can make waves in the nfc. As far as I’m concerned the nfc is wide open outside of the niners and you never know what might happen to them. The nfc arguably doesn’t have a top 5 qb so to me a playoff run is not out of the question.

Last time I check, Sean picked Cesar and Payton. D.A. picked Olave, Trevor, Bresee, and Fuaga. Eventhough we haven't seen Fuaga yet, it's safe to say he's 3 for 4 on 1st round picks. If ya wanna exclude Fuaga, then he's 2 for 3. Say what you want, under D.A., some of draft picks (and UDFAs) are solid contributors.

And just because those 12 QBs had great stats last year, thT doesn't mean they will have the same stats this year. Players fall off ALL of the time every year.
Derek Carr had a chance to set the world on fire with Devante Adams with the Raiders. He fell flat on his face. Couldn't make the offense work. The back up QB had a 400+ yard game replacing him. He's like Dak Prescott. Stellar regular season, but not good enough to make the post season or make a dent in the post season. He's physically gifted and has a lot of experience, but he has no will to win and he can't rally his teammates to win. Winston won the locker room over Carr. He's just a guy collecting a pay check. He's okay if you want the team to be competitive on the field. He's a good QB. He won't win championships. He's not a Drew Brees good. He doesn't command the locker room to be elite like Brees. Drew Brees was cheated out of a couple of Super Bowls. Derek Carr will never sniff getting close to a Conference championship game. Saints don't have any one who can elevate the team to demand success. Who is their leader?
Adams had a better season with carr than the next year without him. Almost all of the players played worse under McDaniels. That wasn’t a carr problem.

Adams was on pace for a career season with Carr.
The problem was that McDaniels would call good games in the 1st half, and then leave the whole offense perplexed with his play calls in the 2nd halves. All the team captains brought it up publicly too. That would be rolling, defense couldn't stop them.....then halftime happens, and McDaniels starts calling plays that feel right into the defenses strengths. Over and over. That's how you end up losing the most games in NFL history after leading by double digits at the half. That's what happens when an egomaniac HC is trying to scapegoat the QB so he can get "his guy". The players know what happened, and that's why McDumbass lost the locker room.
@@jessegardner134 completely agree with you. Adams, Crosby, and Jacobs were the only players that played well despite McDaniels. Adams and Jacobs had poor years with McDaniels after Carr left. So many players had awful years under McDaniels, including Renfrow and Walker who were pro bowlers shortly before McDaniels got there.
