Hi Jackie, verse 6 of chapter 7, it means that we are not to give the good things of God to those who mock Him. Putting Pearl's on a pig doesn't make it a beauty queen....its just an ugly pig and the Pearl's are wasted on it. So in the same way, Gods word and his goodness is wasted on those who continually mock Him. I hope that helps. Thank you for being faithful to share the Word.

i think it means dont give the devil a footstool for turmoil in your life, such as dont give the dogs (satan) something sacred , such as dont say “well since my pregnancy wasnt bad why is she staying home all the time mine wasnt that bad shes over reacting” and then when you have your next kid and get pregnant you get shown how bad a pregnancy can truly be to humble you in the ways you once judged someone for. if that makes sense!! we all interpret it differently , i loved your way as well!

I think verse 7:6 is talking about making a good judgement about others. Not everyone needs to be your friend.
You cannot just give anyone your most valuable info. Some people might just turn their backs on you, backstab you, use it against you and destroy you

I love Chapter 6 and 7 ! It was very powerful especially when it talks about worrying, I have such a hard time always worrying about what is next but now that I have been trying to grow, read, study the Bible. I have become better at limiting the amount of worrying I have been doing. But I love your studying.

i got this insight from my bible app for Matthew 7:6!
Jesus wants us to be slow in judge but also at the same time use the power of discernment (Hebrews 5:14) to realise the real from the fake.
Even if it isn't something that they proclaim i believe we can see in their actions the people that listen to our message of the kingdom and act interested but consistently with their actions reject it.
When people can take the sacred and most valuable pieces of you from you, it makes it easier for them to break you.
Be mindful of the things/emotions you give others as the Bible says iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17).
If they are not sharpening you then you are being dulled by them and easier to break.
ex : the unholy will twist what you say, make it against you and call what is wrong right.

I’ve always loved the verse about how he feeds the birds so He’ll take care of us and I always think about how I have bird feeders in my backyard so it makes me think He’ll place people In my life to bless me just like he’s using me to feed the birds.

Mathew 7:6 when it talks about the pigs I took it as like. Don’t give something that you find precious to someone who doesn’t care as in “pigs” because they will tear it up and not care for it the way you do

The Torah explicitly declares the pig unclean, so I think it also means to not waste holy and godly things on things that are not holy and not clean. Don't give your time to things that are unclean, instead give your time to things of eternal value!

We see this all the time in the world, people treating the Word of God like it’s nothing.
My favorite verse was really 9-13 of chapter 6, it helps even though I'm used to praying, something else that stood out to me a lot was not to judge others if you have things that aren't perfect, thank you for teaching us more about the Bible! Amen

Matthew 6: 22-23 The eye is a key channel of information for man, it largely determines what information and knowledge we fill our hearts with. We should protect our heart: "Above all else, guard your heart for everything you do flows from it" (Proverbs 4: 23). If we focus our sight on godly things, our hearts will be filled with godly desires and the right motives, so that we can shine and be God's light (Matthew 5: 14)!

I have a different take on 7:21. I do believe, believing is enough and through belief we will want to follow but those who say "Did WE not prophesy, did WE not cast out demons, etc are relying on their own works and not belief to gain salvation.

We’ve spent the last 2 and a half years memorizing Matthew 5-7 (the sermon on the Mount)...
19:04 People been telling me all my life that God will hear all of your prayers. My mom says theres no right way to pray and just speak whats on your heart. Well this women comes on myfor you page on tiktok and says God doesn't hear all prayers unless you pray a certain way. Some people belived her the majority of us didn't. I didn't belive her but I just decided to share this story.

Also! Matt’ 7:24 on building our houses on a rock, Jesus was crucified on a rock, so a wise man would build his house on the ways of Christ and it’ll survive the storm.
Regarding 7:6, culturally dogs were not pets, they were wild animals and a symbol of immorality, barbarism, vulgarity and ignorance. Pigs were unclean. To be called a dog or a pig is a huge insult. Here, Jesus compares those who reject him to dogs and pigs. It is a warning not to waste time or invite harassment by those who are obviously hostile. It is a warning not to waste our God-given resources.
