    In my study Bible it was talking about verses 22-24, saying, “those who have been truly saved cannot be deceived and fall away. For even if it were humanly possible, the Lord will stop it by hastening his coming.” Verse 22 said, “but for the elect’s (chosen ones) sake those days shall be shortened.” KJV

    I've struggled a lot with this chapter. I've come to 2 possible, potislly overlapping interpretations.
    1)- there's a time jump, essentially separating parts if the prophecy according to the questions the disciples asked. They asked 3 questions and probably thought they were another the same period of time, but since we know Jesus didn't come back right when the temple was destroyed, but that's part of what he's addressing. As such the parts must be thought as at least somewhat disconnected, somewhere. Drawing those lines reliably isn't necessarily a given though.
    But there's an additional wrinkle:
    This is one of 3 versions of this prophecy in the synoptic gospels, mark has a version, which feels narratively compatible (if simpler) and Luke's, which complicates matters because certain elements are in a different narrative order, but the elements are all there. But this presents a problem for the easy application of my hypothesis... especially because the disciples questions aren't quite as neatly distinct and compartmentalized in the narration... it flows more like you'd expect if he's describing a 1st century second coming.
    .this leads to my second point:
    There's a messianic or midrashic way of looking at prophecy that is clearly a big part if what inspired how Matthew is written from the start... historical escalating repeated fulfillment.
    Think of the wording of Matthew on almost every page "fulfilling the scriptures where the prophet said..."
    Thing is, lots of Matthew's OT references aren't necessarily previously recognized messianic prophecies. Some are, but some are psalms about David's life, or they were fulfilled in the time of the Macabees, or in the exile or the return of the exile. But in each case a few pieces of imagery weren't known to be fulfilled literally or like it seems it might have to the degree described, or the hope of deliverance afterward, while it came true, was anti climactic in some way. So its like all these OT prophecies contain a core thread of unfulfilled eschatological hope, something ultimate, something bigger, and messiah fulfills that in some way... fulfillment. Hence Matthew's narrative focus.
    In light of that what if, in addition to the answer being compound, and because of that a little confounding... what if it's also part of a layered repeated fulfillment too.
    So you've got the destruction in 70 AD, and the advice is for them: run to the hills, woe to nursing women as there's a bad famine, and Jerusalem will be wiped out... but also all of this may yet repeat again once more in an even more final sense, at which time Jesus will appear and this phase of history will wrap up.
    Both/and, sort of.

    Matthew 24:34
    Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. (KJV)
    About Matthew 24, the Greek word used for "pass" in these verses is "παρέλθῃ" (parelthē), which can also be translated as "enter into" or "pass into." This broader range of meanings allows for an interpretation that the generation would not enter into or experience the fullness of the fulfillment until all the described events are accomplished. Similar to how Israel could not pass the wilderness trial and had to wander for 40 years and fail to enter God's promises, the first century Israel failed to enter into God's promises for them by rejecting Christ and his apostles and thus were sent to wander for 2000+ years until a future generation is able to pass God's requirements through faith in the Messiah. This understanding explains why the first century Israel did not pass, but failed to pass, and thus awaits future fulfillment.
    However, given that the generation of Israel was poised in the first century to have the potential to receive Jesus Christ and usher in the kingdom on Earth had they received Him (Acts 3:20), the events described in Matthew 24 may have begun to take place, but not everything did. Certainly God's elect were not gathered from the four winds (Matthew 24:31) and Christ did not appear with great glory to cause all the nations on earth to mourn (Matthew 24:30), which corresponds to Revelation 1:7 “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all peoples on earth will mourn because of him." Those that pierced him, as per Zechariah 12:10, are the nation of Israel collectively, and this is clearly speaking about the 2nd coming of Christ, which no Christian should try to argue is a historical event, as we are still waiting the coming of the Lord and our gathering together unto him.
    2 Thessalonians 2:1
    "Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him (our blessed hope), we ask you, brothers and sisters, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us-whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter-asserting that the Day of the Lord (book of Revelation, nightmare on earth) is at hand." If those who preach 70 AD are correct, then the Day of the Lord (destruction of Jerusalem?) was absolutely at hand when Paul was writing. However, the Day of the Lord, which is what Joel speaks of in Joel 2, is what Peter quotes in Acts 2 explaining to the Jews what is happening. However if you read Joel 2 carefully it says starting in verse 27
    "Then you will know that I am in Israel,
    that I am the Lord your God,
    and that there is no other;
    never again will my people be shamed.
    “And afterward,
    I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
    Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
    your old men will dream dreams"
    So the fulfillment of Joel 2 happens after Israel is reconciled fully to God and are never again put to shame. The nation of Israel was put to horrific shame in 70 AD and God is not presently dwelling with Israel in their midst, as Israel has forsaken God and rejected His Messiah and spent 2000 years in scattered exile and judgment. Joel 2 was about to come to pass in the first century, the beginnings of it were evidenced by the pouring out of God's Spirit, but the fulfillment of it did not take place in full in the first century, but was postponed to a future generation. Peter, acknowledging that people will scoff at this idea says:
    2 Peter 3:4
    They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.”
    Peter goes on to explain that if you want to understand the longsuffering of God and why these events did not take place;
    2 Peter 3:15
    Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him.
    Paul's letters explain why God did not bring upon the nation of Israel in the first century the completion of their prophesied end times, because Israel fell (Romans 11:11). God will not bring about the fulfillment of the promises made to that nation until they are good and ready to receive all that God has for them, and that begins by them acknowledging Jesus Christ as their Messiah. So the obstinance and refusal of Israel has benefited the world for 2000 years, putting a pause on Israel's prophetic program until "the fullness of the Gentiles be come in" (Romans 11:25). Then God will return and save Israel "as it is written" in the scriptures of the prophets and as Jesus himself said would happen.

    Immediately after the great tribulations is the only RAPTURE
    No secret and convenient and Hollywood style fantasy rapture before the tribulation
    The book of revelation is mostly metaphorical language, and if you don’t know the old testament, your never going to understand it
    Only look at the stars as messengers and angels only look at the mountains as authorities and look at the candlestick as the church. Also, the angel messengers are part of the church.

      Thank you for sharing! I know that I don't know everything and appreciate any opportunities to learn. In that parable it says the weeds are taken and thrown into the fire but the verse before that says that the harvest is the end of age and the angles are the harvesters and to harvest means to gather up. So I want us to be those good seeds that get gathered up at the end of age 🙏❤️✨

      I def encourage you to look deeper into the rapture and being "taken up". Taken first is the tares that will be thrown into the fire then He will gather us (the wheat) into the barn.

    i've watched dozen of videos about matthew 24 and non of them see reincarnation on verse 4. Are people really so blind ? it's an answer that Jesus give straight to his disciples who asked him in private, neither is Jesus talking to the readers because no one is writing things down ! He is obviously talking 2000 years in the future and he says: watch out that no one deceive YOU (he doesn't say deceive them) How can the disciples be deceived if they are not reincarnate and alive in those days? Neither is he referring to the year 70 because the disciples didn't die in that year (john wrote revelation around 93 ad) Peter dies in Rome in 64 ad (according to Mark 13 Peter was one of the 4 disciples who asked that question)
