Caro will keep on improving. With her experience and athletic competitiveness, she will continue to win titles. Being more aggressive/ assertive and be a big hitter will help though. Hopefully she will work in that. There are a lot of big hitters on tour now like sabalenka, Osaka, etc. she need to adjust her style.

Wozniacki has nothing to do with classy. She's just a pusher who wins most of the time because of opponent's mistakes. There's absolutely nothing creative in her game, she's a major PUSHER, such as Svitolina and Kerber.

Quality of match in Beijing. 1 hr 30 min in 2. Worth big fiesta para Wozniacki for a special taste after some time of hardship. Good to see recent fine performance by Sevastova. She's equipped with variety of weaponry to upset her rival. She was a risk taker, but Dane wall resisted with watertight defence. How hard to put her off-balance!
Win bring about a boost in the ranking, nearly halved the gap to Halep! (Yet, 1,000 points away)
Halep, Sabalenka & Osaka etc., were big obstacles before the final. Well done!

just watched the highlights above of this morning final, it should have been a very enjoyable match,
two very creative female tennis players, Sevastova and Woz, unlike some of you might think about the danish former n°1,
she's very solid from the baseline with three cracking basics, the serve, the forehand and the backhand,
she's at most a counter attacking player, but she knows how to be creative hitting some powerful and deep openings
and coming to the net to volley in different ways, even with half drop volleys and other refined touches,
she's a very complete player further to be the most solid in the circuit alongside Simona Halep,
she's creative and sound at the same time with a big range of depth and breadth of shots from the baseline,
but we can spend some congratulations to Sevastova as well who in terms of creativity is not lesser than Caroline,
surely a lot less solid and with an inferior variety of shots from the baseline,
either way, congrats to Anastasia for the long way that brought her to the final,
she will certainly turn out a big threat for many other players crossing the racket with her in the upcoming WTA tournaments remaining in the next couple of weeks,
finally, best of luck to Caroline for the next WTA Master Singapore finals she'll certainly participate in by virtue of a very solid
second spot in the WTA Race ranking, hopefully she'll repeat last season feat and win that trophy to drop Halep from
the n°1 spot and lift herself at the summit of the WTA ranking,
    keep it up Woz!

Sevastova very unlucky. 5 break points apiece but Sevastova failed to convert. Then at 4 game to 3 second set and 30 40 advantage to sevastova then Wozniaka messes around with the balls and the judge makes the time wasting worse by talking and warning Wozniaki... RESULT being sevastova gets distracted and fluffs the return. That one point was critical.
The judge should penalise wozniaki a point but not allow distractions for sevastova at critical moment. sevastova gets nothing from that warning while wozzy gets a small booost from appearing to be victimised by the refereee being overly disciplinarian.
Shame as spoiled the match a bit. Good skills by both players.

I'll say this, there is no definitive heiress apparent to the Serena throne room of Grand Slams. On any given day depending of which poison should spew their way, anyone in the top 10 WTA can be beaten by a lower ranked player convincingly & in straight sets, so why is this? I say it's youth and not being non-flexible once learning to use power shots. The Serena era has molded these girls to savor their power but not focusing on finessing their shots and not being able to yield to their habits of not taking risks on baseline play, looking at Osaka we see that she rarely takes to approaching the net unless you force her to do it, that must change if she's ready to wear the crown. Many players must learn to yield to change during a game and convert their power to finesse when needed & vice versa, Sevastova exposed Osaka on changing pace with sliced shots & Woz exposed Sevastova on a cleaner finesse game as well as selection. One of these warriors must combine all of their talents to become the consistent Queen of Grand Slams.

The inconsistency of Ostapenko Osaka Stephens Kvitova Pliskova etc is the overwhelming theme now and not the dominance of a single player. False, Wang is not a mini wozi. One key difference between the two is their defensive skill and how they handle the situation when they were pull out of the court by their opponents. Wozi would often hit a deep and often with great clearance over the net that buy herself time to get back into a good rally position. Wang would go for a lower percentage shots that would look spectacular if she pull them off . Wang hit the ball pretty flat most of the time Wozi has far greater margin of error because she hit the ball with more top spin.
