As an American I'm ashamed of how the crowd treated her. The booing was inexcusable. It should have been a happy moment for her. She should have never apologized for winning. She deserved to win. She worked hard for this and she should be celebrating in this moment.

Naomi Osaka is one the most humble athletes I have EVER worked with, and I wanted to see her raise the trophy with the cutest (and at times, dorky) smile that she always shows during press conferences and postgame speeches.
